I don't get upset about people sharing their opinions, but there is a fine line between sharing your beliefs and shoving it down someones throat. @tem1013 atheism isn't based on any belief . its a logical stand that any RELIGION should prove its claims about god before saying it is true. obviously it isn't a preference like saying "i like the color yellow" .it is a logical stand and since logic is not subjective to the individual therefore the stand of atheists is either universally true or false. since we think it is universally true therefor our logic applies to everyone until disproven by the demonstration of god's existence.

I'm not trying to insult atheism but how can you prove it by using religion in your argument? Almost every argument I hear against religion uses scriptures from the bible as an example.

@tem1013 ... and "my religion provides a good moral framework" even though atheists could point out these fallacies and tell the arguer to first prove god... it merely skews the argument towards the theists by giving them the weapon to make more personal attacks against atheists like saying "religion is the only alternative and without it man will descend into despair and barbarism". therefore certain measures have to be taken to point out this emotional bias to the first time listners

This is the most important song of my life. It's how I've always felt, but I've never explored or processed how or why I came to this point of view, mostly because I too live in the South. My family feels sorry they won't see me in the "hereafter". In this time, however, I feel an imperative need to do so.
Also just saw my 1st atheist film - "The Ledge". I highly recommend it.

The artist is Atheist so he's not going to be singing about a powerful God. How can he if he doesnt believe in God. I think that he's trying to call out religious people who do bad things and use God to cover their misdeeds. There are religious nuts in this world, but this song also has touches of athetism. A lot of people who do wrong are doing bad because they are not following God. They use god to justify their misdeeds.
Although this video paints religion in a poor light Athetism/secular humanism is not the answer. We did not create ourselves so how can we know what our life's purpose is. The only way to find the purpose of life is through god

Religion has just as much to blame for this video as his ignorance of what God really says. Instead of making too much of a big deal with the intent of the video, religious folk can just take a look in the mirror. Those who react in anger about this video/song should just slow down their vitriol and look at the religious idiots he show in the video. In many ways he is spitting out the poison that is being fed to many people as being what "God Said". Christians should also be more discerning.
