@Iruth27 Thats the thing. Kosovo is not a country and has never been 1. If every minority that has a majority in certain area should have the right to be independent then where does this stop? Should French Canada claim independence from the rest? Should Southern States with large hispanic population claim independence from US? Should Kurds get independence from Turkey? Should Basque be independent from Spain? Should Serb Republic be independent from Bosnia? There is much more to it than that.
@Iruth27 Kosovo is Serbian land. It is marked by 1000s of ancient monastaries of Serbs who have lived and died there. Albanians for the most part are illegal immigrants in Kosovo. They invaded Serbian land by mass migration and have multiplied over the years into the majority. And then they used that majority to intimidate and force the other minorities into exodus. As long as Hungary goes, Austria-Hungary killed 1/4 of Serbian population in WW1 so land is the last thing we should talk about.
@dmacid Yeah first of all I wanted to thank for that detail about what Austria-Hungary did, it was horrible and absolutely wrong, which is kind of what Serbia did to Kosovo. It would be wrong to annex Kosovo to Albania, but as an independent state, it's a lot better that way, I'm just waiting for it to be an actual country, since it has no real flag or anthem.Don't forget, Serbia committed a genocide there.

Oh and yes all minorities can have their own legal state provided a number of countries plus one or more superpower agrees, let them be independent but ask that all monasteries have Serbian guides and all that or Serbia embargoes Kosovo.

Russians and Chinese will protect our interests while Western Europe and Americans will protect our enemies because of their own conflict. ExYugoslavia and Tito's regime only made it easier for them! @Iruth27 Kosovo is Serbian land. It is marked by 1000s of ancient monastaries of Serbs who have lived and died there. Albanians for the most part are illegal immigrants in Kosovo. They invaded Serbian land by mass migration and have multiplied over the years into the majority. And then they used that majority to intimidate and force the other minorities into exodus. As long as Hungary goes, Austria-Hungary killed 1/4 of Serbian population in WW1 so land is the last thing we should talk about.

The first reason why NATO came to Kosovo is because Kosovo is wealthy with Lead and Zinc. The second reason which is also very important is because Serbia has always been potential ally with Russia, and NATO wants Serbia to be a small country this is why NATO retained 15% of Serbian territory by taking Kosovo.

the 90's were a disaster for the serb nation...they lost krajina..lost kosovo...sure they gained territory in bosnia but was it really worth the cost in lives and devastation to the serb economy??....especially when the serbs could have cut a peace deal in 1993 and maintained the same territory and probably kept krajina as well

The world know exactly the history and the war in Kosovo was the right one fought by Americans. We fought the Turks do not you read something and then speaks of Skanderbeg. but maybe it was better to deal with the Turks than with the cowards like the Serbs, Greeks, Italians.

BTW we are talking here about KLA and if you call a gangster that is armed with an AK-47 a civilian that goes around killing people and selling they're internal organs, then yes they killed "civilians", the same kind of "civilians" that the Libyan army is killing in Libya. @andyissemicool As I said the worst kind of war is a bloody civil war, if you want to be objective, all sides committed genocide, NOT only Serbs, try to find out what did Bosnian Mujahedins done to the Serbian civil population in Bosnia or what have Croats done to Serbs in Croatia especially during the Oluja (storm) operation, 1000's killed and around 300k where driven away from their homes! DON'T be one-sided and of course as I said the western media is very good at demonizing entire nations!

@andyissemicool No I never said that Serbs didnt kill ppl, but my post was RELATED in the case of Kosovo, there was NO GENOCIDE or what so ever committed by the Yugoslav forces in Kosovo, they targeted KLA terrorist hordes who killed non-Albanians and Albanians that were against the KLA. KLA members are involved in human, drug, weapon trafficking, in selling ppl's internal organs, etc. About the genocide ALL SIDES committed them in the bloody Yugoslav civil war! Cheers
