I agree with the power to weight ratio comment. A regular cab Ram SRT-10 weighs 2000lbs more than a Ranger. The Ram in the video is a quad cab. Put 2000lbs in the bed the Ranger and the outcome will be much different. If the ranger can even hold 2000lbs in the bed. If the Ranger is making 290hp then it has a higher power to weight ratio than the Ram.

A Ford Ranger will always beat a Dodge Ram. This ranger probably has a V6 4.0 putting out 207 hp. although the ram has a bigger engine in it. it weights far more than the ranger. I was t boned by a 2006 Ram when I was driving a 85 FOrd f150 and the ram was totalled, all that was wrong with the ford was it needed a new drivers side quarter panel and a rear bumper. Only thing dodge ever did right was put a cummins in there trucks.

Plus, lets face it, not everyone needs to haul a horse trailer or large yaht. For the people who only need to move furniture or loads of mulch every one in a while small trucks work out better. BTW, the Titan is NOT a compact truck, it's a full size.

Yeah, no it is not. Bear in mind I've been in a Titan, and I've seen them squealing tires at the boat ramp. They are not full-size trucks. Now maybe in NYC, you would consider them to be, but when you've for heavy duty 10,000 lbs dually Fords, Chevys, and Dodge trucks on the road, a 5,000 lbs Titan is a joke. Hell the bare minimum for a full size is a light duty truck that weighs 7,000 lbs. A 5,000 lbs Titan is just a reallly big toy truck.

@F0M0C0 My cummins gets 23.5 MPG and puts down almost 500 HP and 1k TQ. I love having a truck that does everything. But on the other hand I have had and have friends that have their LD trucks and they love them. I will never go back though. I'm hooked.

And I have seen many a little truck make full size trucks look like a joke offroad. Its not all about who can to the most. about the only thing that was worthless was your comment. O and btw, I have witnessed a Ford Ranger Out pull a Chevy Silvarado.........and yes we were all laphing at the full size.

@AllAlaskan907 Only way the Ranger is pushing 500hp is if he's running an aftermarket block. The stock 302 block will normally split down the lifter galley if you push it to 500hp. Has it been done, sure, but they only run for a short period of time before grenading.

And I would hope he was using an aftermarket block if he was going to put that much money into the motor. And Just so you know No ranger ever came with a 302, the biggest engine ford ever put in the Ranger was the 4.0L v6. They did how ever put a 302 in the explorer.

Why do people brag about Ford being the best? Or Dodge being the best? This video proves no such superiority of either brand. All it shows is some dude threw a 5.0L V8 in his small Ford Ranger and beat a 500hp pickup. Power to weight kids. I agree with the power to weight ratio comment. A regular cab Ram SRT-10 weighs 2000lbs more than a Ranger. The Ram in the video is a quad cab. Put 2000lbs in the bed the Ranger and the outcome will be much different. If the ranger can even hold 2000lbs in the bed. If the Ranger is making 290hp then it has a higher power to weight ratio than the Ram.

wow dude, might as well put up a modded civic with a 426 hemi against a stock hummer h2 while were at it, no fault of either truck but some people don't understand that trucks meant to get work done are in no hurry to do so, put them in a pull test, put them in a endurance test, put them in mud, do anything... trucks aren't meant to be fast, that just ruins the point of having a truck... RANGER??? that's a RANGER vs a RAM. thats not really saying much :D. and yes I could tell that they were both customized. the SRT had that spoiler and a 500 HP engine. both are customized. as for the Ranger? it's a smaller, lightweight truck, of course it'll go faster. however, I should also point out that the driver of the SRT was burning out for 12 seconds. the driver of the Ranger did it for around 28 seconds. thats a bit unfair.

A Ford Ranger will always beat a Dodge Ram. This ranger probably has a V6 4.0 putting out 207 hp. although the ram has a bigger engine in it. it weights far more than the ranger. The Ranger has a quicker take off than alot of cars and trucks. I have a 4.0 Ranger and it smokes a lot of cars & trucks I race but after about 70mph it cant keep up.
