@Jezuzfreek777, Please stop speaking for everyone. Cognitive Dissonance.....what a thing, to be able to shove all doubts and reality checks aside in favor of whatever reality is more comforting to you.
I love how at the end JF just shoves all of his doubts, some of which are legitimate questions, aside as "the Devil playing [him]." Wow, just plain wow. That kind of irrationality has no place in the 21st century.
What if it turns out Satan was good and God evil? What if all the stories about the devil are just propaganda from God and Satan was once a weaker God who had his world stolen from him by a more powerful evil God? The evidence for this and every other religious belief is the same. There is none. Any religion is just as credible as the next, or any belief for that matter. People say "Prove God doesn't exist!". Well I say prove he does.
You dumbass the speed of sound is 340m/s, the speed of LIGHT that can travel several times around the earth in a second.... c = 300.000.000m/s LITTLE DIFFERENCE AHN?
but yet through your ignorance you posted a ridiculously idiotic comment. It makes no sense how you could even miss the annotation. you're watching a video and the annotation is ON the video.
Speaking about strugling with faith. I have a question, because I strugle with a particular thing that caught my attention. The part where the jews flee from egypt, one of the plagues was that every animal (cattle and such) would die. Then when the jews escape egypt the farao sends horsemen... after the jews. It always hurts when I read that, and I would like to know your opinion.
i personly bealive we should stop fighting and accept what people want to bealive and dont push ur views i bealive in god and i do it because it makes me whole in my self i feel better. now if i feel better bealiving in a good that to me is a good thing and i respect you either wat if u don't or do bealive in a god its about kindness and love as well as respect that to me is what matters not fighting over religion.
So which things in particular are moronic in the Bible?
As far as the cruel things, they are in there for a reason. That is to remind us that as humans we are not perfect and need a savior.
And I am continuing to do my homework on evolution. The more I study it the less it can stand on it's own. I used to believe it was the answer to life on this planet but there were too many unanswered questions. Eventually I found the answers.
Why are Christians so stupid? Is it because we believe in a book that keeps proving itself over and over and over. Is it because we believe in the sacrifice of Christ for our sins? Or is it because we have a hard time with evolution which cannot stand on it's own without a creator? Evolution needs God to be viable. Even Darwin and Einstein believed that.
No they didn't. If you think that making things up helps your argument you seriously need to get wiser.
And you pick and choose what to take from the Bible. It's a big book, and religious people do it so much that they can make any sense of it that they wish. The reason we know you're stupid is because we can read all the moronic and cruel things in your "Holy" book that you choose to ignore, or pass of as a metaphor, without any standard, or rules, or instruction that you have licence to do so
jezuzfreek is right christains are arrogant and crazy. I wouldn't call it a weakness just reality, and reality is a bleak and terrorfying place so fantasies are created to give shelter from fear. who needs bullshit fantasies to have no fear
I accept that comprehension of God is not a perquisite of Faith. Yet, this doesn't stop me from seeking out universal truths - What interesting about my "excursions" is that I perpetually end up back with God.
If one could rise to know of all things about this existence in a single life time, the mortal brain would probably fry out from perceptual overload. From prior comments I've read it seems a closed mind can fry a brain as well ;)
We teach what the bible says ? LOL ... the ideal of faith ha ha ha hah ... dude just stop being such a ass hole. Faith is believing in bull shit, simple as that. It is not worth respect and your idea that you have something to teach others is arrogant.
Everyone has faith in something. If you did not have faith that you are going to be able to breathe when you walk outside of your house, then you would have oxygen canisters shipped to your front door. Is it likely that you will be able to breathe when you walk out of your front door, yes, but you still have faith that the oxygen will be there when you need it. Claiming that faith BS or arrogant is, in fact, hypocritical on your part. Faith is required in all aspects of life.
What a total load of bull shit, comparing air with your imaginary friends. You people are confusing reality with fairy tale. I breathe because I have lungs and there is air to breath, we can see our lungs, we can see air (yes we can) and we can test it EMPIRICALLY ... we do not see your god, we can not test your god and your god is not supported with REAL evidence. You are making a very bad analogy ... why are christians so dumb?
OK, since you clearly have faith in liberalism, and not reality, let me give you another example. Any time that you fly, you have faith that the pilot is in the cockpit even though you are not allowed in there, and moreover, you have faith that the pilot is competent enough to fly the plane and not overshoot the airport like the pilot from Northwest did in Minneapolis/St. Paul this past week. You have faith that people who do not care about you are telling you the truth in preaching atheism.
I am not a liberal ... I can go to the air port and see an air plain, it flies because it has been engineered to fly. Again, another very bad analogy ... your faith is in magical and invisible beings, there is no example in reality you can use. Your just showing the ignorance of christian attempts to justify their idiotic religion
I am glad that I have not put any faith in your spelling or knowledge of capitalization. The AIRPLANE has been engineered to fly, as I had engineering professors from GE. However, you have faith that they did their job correctly, since your spelling tells me that you could not have designed one yourself.
You call Christianity an idiotic religion, yet tell me how atheism is not the most idiotic of all religions. Also, do not try to claim that it is not a religion, because I know better.
Well, let me see with what my 156 IQ can come up. Christian are far smarter than any atheist I have ever met. Most atheists believe in evolution, spontaneous generation and the big bang no matter how many laws of physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics they all violate.
Anyone who does not believe that atheism is a religion should explain to me why an atheist sued (and won) to have atheism declared a religion.
OK, since you are clearly an expert in some field, then demonstrate to me that evolution is true by giving me a single example of any creature that has gained genetic material that is both beneficial and can be passed to future generations. If evolution is true, and you are as smart as you claim to be(despite your spelling, capitalization and grammar), then this should be simple for you.
Wow, you have been really brainwashed. "gained genetic materials" and of course you have to toss in the "your an expert" hog wash. And the old spelling and grammar adhom .... typical christian, full of shit.
What can I say? You clearly have no idea about what you are saying. I have given you ample opportunity to defend evolution, but all you can do is parrot "Ad Hom." You cling to evolution, yet you are unable to give a single example. I will give you another try. You might even be able to prove a point, and not just say "bullshit" over and over. Good Luck!
If you want an example of evolution, I will give you one. The hundred plus breeds of dogs show that it is possible for genetics to be manipulated through natural selection and selective breeding, it happens every single day. What I think your denying is macroevolution, which is much harder to prove only because it takes so long to occur. I will gladly explain it to you in an email if you would like cincyninja, not enough room in this comment box!
Is said evolution. I mean the wild guess that after the fictitious big bang was followed by spontaneous generation (which was proven to be impossible centuries ago), single-celled creatures somehow became more and more complex until the world looks like it does today. I do not want an example of species variation, which actually is true, so evolutionary story tellers call it "microevolution" to try to give credence to they flawed logic.
I don't know what Atheists you are talking to, but most of the atheists I know are FAR smarter than any of the Christian I know and I know many on both sides. It has also been statistically shown that IQs are much lower in people that believe in religion.
Also you don't seem to understand enough science. Please explain what laws are violated.
If you actually READ such things as the court docs, then you might understand Kaufman v. McCaughtry.
It wasn't to establish Atheism as a religion.
It was addressing his Atheism being protected under the First Amendment as a nonreligion.
But even still it was a bit of a draw case. He won based on the First Amendment, but lost any judgment that favored him. He was an inmate at a Wisconsin prison and for security reasons they denied him a "religious group" and passed it to a different court.
Yes, he was an atheist AND in prison. I know that makes perfect sense to me. I hate to break it to you, but there are 5 parts to the First Amendment. Freedom of Speech, The Press, Religion, Assembly and Petition.
I know that liberals do not like the third one, because they think that freedom of religion really means freedom FROM religion, but that is what the argument entails. Atheism IS a religion, and atheists have the right to practice the religion that made them criminals.
I read a number of science books. You should read about real science instead of pseudo-science like evolution and the big bang. There is a lot of conjecture, but no facts.
Ok, evolution/big bang violate both of the first 2 laws of thermodynamics, the law of noncontradiction, thermal expansion, gas expansion, mathematical probability, centrifugal force, and several others.
Of course I understand those concepts;otherwise I might be duped into believing evolution/big bang/spontaneous generation.I'll start with probability. The odds that evolution happened the way that liberals claimed is 1 in 1 followed by 40,000 zeros.Evolution REQUIRES random chance. When you look at supposed evolution, the claims are that it happened in a linear fashion. All scientists know that this is impossible, but they have not found a better way to try to deny God, so they stick with evolution
cincyninja; More fucktarded ranting from our favorite fucktard. Evolution has nothing to do with chance, only natural selection, which still occurs. Your ancestors determine your attributes, like how white people handle alcohol better than Native Americans because their ancestors developed a natural resistance to it from years of consuming it.
Here you go, the typical evolutionary drum beat that evolution and natural selection are the same thing. That would be like me saying that since I can see horses, then unicorns must be real. That is the kind of "logic" that produces natural selection means evolution.
cincyninja; You fucktard. Do your homework. Evolution has nothing to do with the creation of the universe, just how life evolved. Typical religious zealot arguing against something you know nothing about.
Well, it is difficult to know about something that does not exist, so yes, I know nothing about evolution or its imaginary playmate the big bang.
The reason I bring up both fallacies together is because if you are not naive enough to believe that the universe is billions of years old, then you'll never fall for evolution.
Atheism is a lack of belief, hence it cannot be a religion. The term atheism is also a misnomer and it's use is what leads to this vacuous type of thinking.
If the bible is true, why is satan allowed to roam free and tempt people to do the wrong things? Just to test their faith? Why would god want to torment people like that? There's no need to give more examples, since the list goes on and on. Faith isn't a good thing, it's just a fancy word for ignorance.
"If the BIble is true", Sotamursu... go read Genesis and about how evil was created. God have us free will - you have the ability to not do evil, but man does it anyways.
If you want God to take Satan (evil) away from "roaming and tempting people", then he must also cast away our evil thoughts, and since we think evil thoughts... it means we would be eliminated
That doesn't make any sense. You're putting limitations on a God that's supposed to be all powerful. Besides, he wasn't asking about eliminating evil, he was asking about Satan specifically.
I wouldn't agree with that. Think about it, what makes people murder, rape and steal etc.? It's usually the lack of something, people steal because they're poor, they might rape because they have problems with their libido. Someone might murder because he is insane, why would god create an insane person? And for those that weren't born mentally ill, think about what made them lose their sanity.
I used to be religious when I was younger, but a few things really bothered me and eventually led to the conclusion that religion is based on lies and "rewards" ignorance.
First of all: how do you know God is real?
You probably answered that he's real because the bible says he is.
How do you know the bible is true?
You don't.
Satan is a scapegoat for you. Instead of considering the fact that your doing things that are "wrong", because you want to, you think it's satan tempting you.
Also, please feel free to elaborate on what these other things are. Personal experience that cannot be scientifically proven is useless, you can't say that god exists because I saw him, but no one else did. I also forgot to mention something on the quantum mechanics part, even if(and a big if too) quantum mechanics pointed to a higher being, what makes you think it's the christian god and not one of the other deities?
If you want, send me a message here on YouTube and I'll write back with all the reasons why. The Quantum theory leads to the Christian God rather than other Gods.
And... I can't say God exists and nobody else saw him? Reality check: 2.3% of the world is Atheistic. There are about 1.6 billion Christians in the world. I think that's a little different from the stanza of "no one else did"... maybe you're just the one seeing past it.
Also, if you want to fancy with it, you could look into quantum mechanics and modeling... the awakening theory + the entanglement theory and such. God works in mysterious ways, you can find those Scientific studies to relate to God very adaptively and closely.
As for the quantum mechanics thing, I haven't really looked into those in depth, but if there was something that was solid proof of god, we would all know of it. Feel free to point out the parts that relate to god.
Please, I presume you care about your fellow drivers and pedestrians (some of whom are children). I implore you *NOT* to make Youtube videos WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING! (and especially during night, at that). Doing so must be *at least* as much a distraction as talking on a cell phone, and probably more so, even if you do not notice it. Wait until you get home, THEN make the videos.
Naturally, if it questions your faith ITS THE DEVIL!!! Don't think. Don't question. What? That makes no sense? Don't think. Don't question. ITS THE DEVIL!
Trust that you are right. Any evidence against you.... well.... ITS THE DEVIL!! DON'T LISTEN!
Doesn't that mean I actually open myself up to being tricked into following the wrong religion by never questioning my faith? DON'T LISTEN!! ITS THE DEVIL!!
"But what if you're not god?" DON'T LISTEN!! ITS THE DEVIL!
So doubt is a curse from Satan. But what if Satan isn't real, and your doubts are just, you know, from your own head? I'd say doubt, in general, is a good thing. Doubt is what informs us that we may have made a mistake in accepting something without proper evaluation. Doubt leads to truth. But in this specific instance doubt is from the devil himself... Or maybe doubting Christianity is actually Allah trying to desperately save his children from false beliefs. Who knows? I don't. I'm an atheist.
It always makes me chuckle when I hear believers, who actually do have a slight idea just HOW big the universe is, (yes I know, none of us really understand these sizes and numbers, but the more one thinks about these things, the better understanding one gets).
Yet somehow, they just don't see, and don't think it at all arrogant, to imagine the whole universe was created JUST FOR US.
We've only in the last 50ish years realised just how big it is.
Paul was referring to where he came from. He used to persecute other Christians and have them put to death before he became one himself. Calling himself the "chief of sinners" does not mean his faith was weaker, he was just saying he's no better than anyone else that does wrong because everyone commits sin.
So, from your perspective, saying oneself is the chief of sinners is no different than saying we are all equal sinners. Why would he then say "chief" which, in normal language, indicates a leader or highest or something of that nature. Realizing that we atheists read things in the bible "out of context" please do your best to explain why he would use the term "chief" if he really meant that he's "no better than anyone else" in terms of being a sinner. Are not all sins equal in the eyes of god?
He was saying that he's the last person that should point out anyone else's sin seeing as he's had his share of wrongdoings. "Chief of sinners" is just an expression to say "If you want to pattern your life after someone, don't look at me because there are things in my past life I am not proud of."
I wouldn't use the term "deceived" but I believe that you are correct that people do not always perceive things in their full reality. It does appear that the sun travels across our sky, for example. Also, our bodies are conditioned to sense our environment only within certain wave-lengths even though all the wave-lengths we don't sense are occurring. We do not truly see a three-dimensional object but rather the surface we are facing, then we make 3D assumptions.
my full reality is a whopping 1 x 10^(-infinity) of total ongoing reality of all time/space/dimensions... (i may be a bit generous here with this amount)......
Freak, you talk a lot about how we should be Good Christians, but you don't really talk much of having a good relationship with God. I mean, most of your videos are of WHAT we should be doing, but you don't say HOW.
JF, I understand your struggle with your religon and your behavior. But I think that it rests on an error in judgement. You perceive "yourself" as a singular, unified being who is in complete control of his behaviour. This is not so.
For the latter, clearly cognitive science teaches us all about unconscious processing (mind you, I'm not talking about the pseudo-science of Freud) that guide our emotional experiences and our judgement of actions. We are not the masters of our souls.
I have learned all about this, both in my courses as a student of biological & cognitive psychology, as well as from my own personal interest in the matter. Humans are prone to logical fallacies and error in judgement. You shouldn't blame yourself for this. Rather, I recommend that you recognize this and try to minimize the damage. But please don't torment yourself by not living up to some utopian ideal.
That Just it...God is beyond our understanding! We KnowNothingofHim! But He made us for a purpose, and knowing of his Love for Us In Jesus Christ We can Know God..Through Jesus Christ His LIVING Word Our God made an ecape from the law of sin and death..Thats amazing..We can see God Through Christ He made it possible,By the Cross...Does the Bible say we go too Heaven?? Where does it say we GO too heaven..Heaven is wher God is now! A New Heaven And A New Earth is what the Bible Says :-).God Bless
So, god is beyond your understanding and you say you can know nothing of him. Well, you just called it a "him", so that's saying that you believe you know something about god. Next, you've somehow decided to believe that a fellow, Joshua, son of Joseph, is not only the predicted "messiah" of the Jewish religion but also god. Just what made you come to that conclusion? Other than wishful thinking, do you have any reasonable basis that you can remember when you decided to believe as you do?
It is indeed interesting that you open your message with "God is beyond our understanding! We KnowNothingofHim!", whereas I counted no less than seven (fitting number, wouldn't you say?), SEVEN assumptions about what this god is/does.
The bible is useless if the above statement is literally true.
However, if the bible is the word of God, then you necessarily have at bare least a rudimentary understanding of God, which undermines, as well as contradicts, your opening statement.
It would seem quite odd for one to go tossing around a word as positively as this when one has already conceded it's a word that represents lack of understanding
Jesus died by getting nailed up to some wood and abandoned. I suppose thats what happens when you say you're god. Especially when it's to sacrifice yourself when you knew you were going to do that before you were born.
Are we born again now or at the resurrection? Do we keep Saturday or Sunday? Do we keep Easter or Passover? Can we lose our salvation? Heaven, is it the reward of the saved or is Heaven coming down to earth? Is there a literal hell fire, do sinners roast forever or are they annihilated? Why do we keep Birthdays when they are not commanded in the Bible? Is this the ONLY day of salvation or is there Universal Salvation coming? Is the Law abolished or did Jesus reaffirm it?
"Faith may be defined briefly as an illogical belief in the occurrence of the improbable.... A man full of faith is simply one who has lost (or never had) the capacity for clear and realistic thought. He is not a mere ass: he is actually ill." ~ H.L. Mencken
"Faith is nothing more than the license religious people give themselves to keep believing when reasons fail." ~ Sam Harris
"Faith is like a piece of blank paper whereon you may write as well one miracle as another." ~ Charles Blount
"Faith is deciding to allow yourself to believe something your intellect would otherwise cause you to reject -- otherwise there's no need for faith." - Unknown
"Faith is the antithesis of proof." ~ NY State Supreme Court Justice Edward J. Greenfield, 1995
"Faith is believing something you know ain't true." ~ Mark Twain [Samuel Clemens] (1835-1910)
"Faith is an absolutely marvelous tool. With faith there is no question too big for even the smallest mind." ~ Rev. Donald Morgan (1933)
"Faith is a cop-out. It is intellectual bankruptcy. If the only way you can accept an assertion is by faith, then you are conceding that it can't be taken on its own merits." ~ Dan Barker
Faith is the abrogation of responsibility and freedom, and of handing those over to an imaginary friend and father figure. This mis-firing of the limbic system is one of the primary causes of war, strife, and poverty in the world.
But if you had faith, you would do what Jesus does! You would OBEY God, observe the Ten Commandments. You would study the origins of SUNday, as opposed to the Seventh day Sabbath.
Unfortunately, is it not a case of blind faith or blind obedience to a religious organisation that you suffer from?
Very good video, JF. This dissertation provides a good picture of the world view of, not only Christians, but Muslims as well. The sophisticated non-believers' world view is based on "questioning everything" whereas these religious world views are based on the idea that such questioning implies a lack of perfect faith and that the questions arise as a result of Satan playing with them. These two differing world views forms the basis of the difficulty theists and atheists have when (cont.)
holding discussions in an attempt to reach some jointly held understandings. For one thing, because atheists are posing the kinds of questions you're talking about on this video, they must necessarily be looked upon as being "agents of Satan", so to speak, as this is where you believe this type of questioning originates. The natural reaction, therefore, of a believer, when confronted with such questioning, is not to openly consider the question but rather to rebel against this attack (cont.)
coming from the Devil. Furthermore, the proof that the theist has successfully fought off the dastardly attack and has strengthened their faith is when they no longer hold in their mind any of the questions or points that were raised in the discussion by Satan's agents. I have often been baffled when, on one day, I will see a discussion where irrefutable evidence has been presented by an atheist to a theist, only to see that same theist come back with statements a day or so later (cont.)
(cont.) that indicate they have totally wiped out the results of the previous discussion from their minds and have gone back to making exactly the same statements that were earlier proven to be incorrect. Where a Deist/Scientific mind appears to be compatible, a Theist/Scientific mind appears to be almost impossible because scientifically arrived at answers must necessarily be dismissed if they run in contradiction to those who hold faith in their religion. Science, at that point, equals Satan.
The universe certainly is a big place, our planet disappears, so small compared to some of the gas giants apparently out there, along with its seemingly insignificant location ( I might have expected it to be a bit more central in a way ) were it the crowning jewel of some deities creation.
I don't understand how you can look at the immensity of space our relative nothingness scale wise in comparison and imagine that something that supposedly created all of that ... also made us in his image.
My father dumped his old wife and is now fucking with an 27 year old woman. While still being married. He is a pastor of the cornerstone family church :D
Very deep for a joyride, lol!!We got to be just human and the kwnoledge of a much higher creator named God,it's not an easy task sometimes! But with giving our faith to God,the ligh,t and leading a life we try to be a good person towards others,we are on the right track! But,not easy sometimes!
You said near the end of the video that you're lacking in faith. Does this mean that you feel that if you were to die at this moment you would end up in hell?
Yes, as a title for the King of Babylon. The text has fuck all to do with Satan.
The title is not even in the original Hebrew text of Isaiah. The Catholics invented the name to try to demonise the 'light bringer' aspect of enlightenment. The real word is 'howl', and Isaiah is simply proclaiming that the King of Babylon will be in torment.
I think it is amazing how Christians assume that 'Lucifer' is a title for Satan when there is literally no single shred or hint of it.
I read your comment to JF shortly after you made it and felt like supporting your thought at the moment, but didn't. But I've been thinking the same thing about JF too. He's really, as you say, only "one thought or realization away" from coming out of the religious stupor, of realizing the expansive unknown but discoverable reality as opposed to the constrictive dogma of religion that offers a pseudo-knowledge of the greater reality while asserting that all quests for knowledge are evil.
Hey there! Here are some words of encouragement. (1 Thes 4:14-18)
We sin because of the evil within us. Even Paul struggled with sin. (Rom 7:18-25). It will be gone when we get our new bodies (1 Cor 15:35-58). We will happily serve God forever (Rev 22:3-4). Here is a passage that illustrates God's infinity quite nicely ( Ps 139:7-10). As for suffering... (Rom 9:21-24; Heb 12:5-13).
"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."(Ps 27:14)
Your doubts are the product of reason and skepticism. Your method of pushing them out of your mind is blind dogmatism, what you're calling faith. It's tragic to see.
I'm encouraged to hear you mention that you find it hard to understand why children and babies suffer. I'm disappointed that you're comfortable to brush this doubt under the carpet by ascribing it to the action of the devil.
Touche. Though, I was thinking of homosexuality in particular. And, pre-marital sex, and recreational sex are other examples. I think a hypothetical "infinite" being - removing all the religious connotations - may care for the well being of sentient life.
I hope you are right. But I don't buy the explanations people like JF give for why there is suffering in the world - suffering imposed on people whom are not otherwise involved or responsible for - which an infinitely powerful being could take away in a heartbeat. I don't buy the idea that an infinite, compassionate being would allow a place like hell to exist, and let people to be subject to what is usually described to be "An eternal pain many, many times more intense than being lit ablaze."
The genitals were created by him, for a specific and holy purpose. Warping what God has created destroys our relationship with him. It doesnt damage him, it damages us. The only problem is, is when you break moral laws, there is always a 'lag' factory, but the consequences always occur sooner or later. Morons who dont know better call it karma.
What, a fucking virgin conceives without taking a cock up her twat. I'm supposed to believe that un-provable bullshit. And a dead man gets up off the fucking slab and walks? It's you who needs to grow the fuck up...Christian retard.
YOU arn't SUPPOSED to believe anything. You are supposed to live you life the best way you know how, maybe have some kids, and when the grave claims you, thats your lot.
I am however supposed to respond to the grace I have recieved by my God.
We aren't talking about the same thing anymore.
To say that christianity has a blind faith is to say that there are NO actual knowledge that warrents our belief in the gospel message. I said that we christians DO & your next question should be?...
I suggest you get a brain retard. Anyone who holds as an article of faith that a biological virgin conceived and bore a son is a total moron. Likewise anyone who believes that a jew rose from the dead and walked through walls is beyond stupid.
Face it fool...Jesus, if he even existed, died like any other human being and he remained in the tomb to rot...period.

Thanks in advance,
Kind regards,

Even Darwin and Einstein believed that.
mdproinc 2 years ago
No they didn't. If you think that making things up helps your argument you seriously need to get wiser.
And you pick and choose what to take from the Bible. It's a big book, and religious people do it so much that they can make any sense of it that they wish. The reason we know you're stupid is because we can read all the moronic and cruel things in your "Holy" book that you choose to ignore, or pass of as a metaphor, without any standard, or rules, or instruction that you have licence to do so

From prior comments I've read it seems a closed mind can fry a brain as well ;)

givingmantoo 2 years ago
Everyone has faith in something. If you did not have faith that you are going to be able to breathe when you walk outside of your house, then you would have oxygen canisters shipped to your front door. Is it likely that you will be able to breathe when you walk out of your front door, yes, but you still have faith that the oxygen will be there when you need it. Claiming that faith BS or arrogant is, in fact, hypocritical on your part. Faith is required in all aspects of life.
cincyninja 2 years ago
What a total load of bull shit, comparing air with your imaginary friends. You people are confusing reality with fairy tale. I breathe because I have lungs and there is air to breath, we can see our lungs, we can see air (yes we can) and we can test it EMPIRICALLY ... we do not see your god, we can not test your god and your god is not supported with REAL evidence. You are making a very bad analogy ... why are christians so dumb?
givingmantoo 2 years ago
OK, since you clearly have faith in liberalism, and not reality, let me give you another example. Any time that you fly, you have faith that the pilot is in the cockpit even though you are not allowed in there, and moreover, you have faith that the pilot is competent enough to fly the plane and not overshoot the airport like the pilot from Northwest did in Minneapolis/St. Paul this past week. You have faith that people who do not care about you are telling you the truth in preaching atheism.
cincyninja 2 years ago
I am not a liberal ... I can go to the air port and see an air plain, it flies because it has been engineered to fly. Again, another very bad analogy ... your faith is in magical and invisible beings, there is no example in reality you can use. Your just showing the ignorance of christian attempts to justify their idiotic religion
givingmantoo 2 years ago
I am glad that I have not put any faith in your spelling or knowledge of capitalization. The AIRPLANE has been engineered to fly, as I had engineering professors from GE. However, you have faith that they did their job correctly, since your spelling tells me that you could not have designed one yourself.
You call Christianity an idiotic religion, yet tell me how atheism is not the most idiotic of all religions. Also, do not try to claim that it is not a religion, because I know better.
cincyninja 2 years ago
Yep, now you are resorting to adhom attacks... and atheism is not a religion, no matter what your dip ship pastor says.
What I want to know, is why are christians so damned stupid?
givingmantoo 2 years ago
Well, let me see with what my 156 IQ can come up. Christian are far smarter than any atheist I have ever met. Most atheists believe in evolution, spontaneous generation and the big bang no matter how many laws of physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics they all violate.
Anyone who does not believe that atheism is a religion should explain to me why an atheist sued (and won) to have atheism declared a religion.
See Kaufman v. McCaughtry

Wow, you brag about having a high IQ then say the stupidest shit.
Idiot, the courts also decided the creationism was bull shit, and you dont seem to be using that.
1. You clearly dont know jack shit about evolution
2. You cherry pick the facts for your needs
3. Fuck off you are getting boring now
givingmantoo 2 years ago
OK, since you are clearly an expert in some field, then demonstrate to me that evolution is true by giving me a single example of any creature that has gained genetic material that is both beneficial and can be passed to future generations. If evolution is true, and you are as smart as you claim to be(despite your spelling, capitalization and grammar), then this should be simple for you.
cincyninja 2 years ago
Wow, you have been really brainwashed. "gained genetic materials" and of course you have to toss in the "your an expert" hog wash. And the old spelling and grammar adhom .... typical christian, full of shit.
givingmantoo 2 years ago
What can I say? You clearly have no idea about what you are saying. I have given you ample opportunity to defend evolution, but all you can do is parrot "Ad Hom." You cling to evolution, yet you are unable to give a single example. I will give you another try. You might even be able to prove a point, and not just say "bullshit" over and over. Good Luck!
cincyninja 2 years ago
Cling to evolution? you brought that shit up idiot
givingmantoo 2 years ago
So, what you are saying is that you cannot produce a single example of evolution. Why am I not surprised!
cincyninja 2 years ago
If you want an example of evolution, I will give you one. The hundred plus breeds of dogs show that it is possible for genetics to be manipulated through natural selection and selective breeding, it happens every single day. What I think your denying is macroevolution, which is much harder to prove only because it takes so long to occur. I will gladly explain it to you in an email if you would like cincyninja, not enough room in this comment box!
itskaylee09 2 years ago
Is said evolution. I mean the wild guess that after the fictitious big bang was followed by spontaneous generation (which was proven to be impossible centuries ago), single-celled creatures somehow became more and more complex until the world looks like it does today. I do not want an example of species variation, which actually is true, so evolutionary story tellers call it "microevolution" to try to give credence to they flawed logic.
cincyninja 2 years ago
I don't know what Atheists you are talking to, but most of the atheists I know are FAR smarter than any of the Christian I know and I know many on both sides. It has also been statistically shown that IQs are much lower in people that believe in religion.
Also you don't seem to understand enough science. Please explain what laws are violated.
XenMonkey13 2 years ago
If you actually READ such things as the court docs, then you might understand Kaufman v. McCaughtry.
It wasn't to establish Atheism as a religion.
It was addressing his Atheism being protected under the First Amendment as a nonreligion.
But even still it was a bit of a draw case. He won based on the First Amendment, but lost any judgment that favored him. He was an inmate at a Wisconsin prison and for security reasons they denied him a "religious group" and passed it to a different court.
XenMonkey13 2 years ago
Yes, he was an atheist AND in prison. I know that makes perfect sense to me. I hate to break it to you, but there are 5 parts to the First Amendment. Freedom of Speech, The Press, Religion, Assembly and Petition.
I know that liberals do not like the third one, because they think that freedom of religion really means freedom FROM religion, but that is what the argument entails. Atheism IS a religion, and atheists have the right to practice the religion that made them criminals.
cincyninja 2 years ago
Ummm... wow!
You do know that more than 90% of US prison inmates are Christian.
Atheism by definition is NOT a religion, regardless if a prisoner wanted to use it as such.
The Supreme Court have already interpreted the First Amend. to include "nonreligion" within Freedom of Religion section.
Do you read much? I know you don't read science books, but can you at least read other things besides your Bible?
What about those broken Laws of Science Mr. Big IQ? I'm waiting to hear these genius ideas.
XenMonkey13 2 years ago
I read a number of science books. You should read about real science instead of pseudo-science like evolution and the big bang. There is a lot of conjecture, but no facts.
Ok, evolution/big bang violate both of the first 2 laws of thermodynamics, the law of noncontradiction, thermal expansion, gas expansion, mathematical probability, centrifugal force, and several others.
cincyninja 2 years ago
You are ignorantly talking out your ass.
Do YOU understand any of those concepts?
Because I do.
I hope you didn't spend too much time looking this nonsense up.
It has already been shown that it doesn't violate the laws of thermodynamics, and if you understood these laws then you would also know that.
Thermal and gas expansion are part of the laws, so you're just repeating yourself.
Also, do you even understand noncontradiction or probability? Because your God does violate those.
Think.
XenMonkey13 2 years ago
Of course I understand those concepts;otherwise I might be duped into believing evolution/big bang/spontaneous generation.I'll start with probability. The odds that evolution happened the way that liberals claimed is 1 in 1 followed by 40,000 zeros.Evolution REQUIRES random chance. When you look at supposed evolution, the claims are that it happened in a linear fashion. All scientists know that this is impossible, but they have not found a better way to try to deny God, so they stick with evolution
cincyninja 2 years ago
cincyninja; More fucktarded ranting from our favorite fucktard. Evolution has nothing to do with chance, only natural selection, which still occurs. Your ancestors determine your attributes, like how white people handle alcohol better than Native Americans because their ancestors developed a natural resistance to it from years of consuming it.
blackkakari 2 years ago
Here you go, the typical evolutionary drum beat that evolution and natural selection are the same thing. That would be like me saying that since I can see horses, then unicorns must be real. That is the kind of "logic" that produces natural selection means evolution.
cincyninja 2 years ago
cincyninja; You fucktard. Do your homework. Evolution has nothing to do with the creation of the universe, just how life evolved. Typical religious zealot arguing against something you know nothing about.
blackkakari 2 years ago
Well, it is difficult to know about something that does not exist, so yes, I know nothing about evolution or its imaginary playmate the big bang.
The reason I bring up both fallacies together is because if you are not naive enough to believe that the universe is billions of years old, then you'll never fall for evolution.
cincyninja 2 years ago
Atheism is a lack of belief, hence it cannot be a religion. The term atheism is also a misnomer and it's use is what leads to this vacuous type of thinking.

If the bible is true, why is satan allowed to roam free and tempt people to do the wrong things? Just to test their faith? Why would god want to torment people like that? There's no need to give more examples, since the list goes on and on. Faith isn't a good thing, it's just a fancy word for ignorance.
Sotamursu90 2 years ago
"If the BIble is true", Sotamursu... go read Genesis and about how evil was created. God have us free will - you have the ability to not do evil, but man does it anyways.
If you want God to take Satan (evil) away from "roaming and tempting people", then he must also cast away our evil thoughts, and since we think evil thoughts... it means we would be eliminated
cwade12c 2 years ago
That doesn't make any sense. You're putting limitations on a God that's supposed to be all powerful. Besides, he wasn't asking about eliminating evil, he was asking about Satan specifically.
marushimarufo 2 years ago
I wouldn't agree with that. Think about it, what makes people murder, rape and steal etc.? It's usually the lack of something, people steal because they're poor, they might rape because they have problems with their libido. Someone might murder because he is insane, why would god create an insane person? And for those that weren't born mentally ill, think about what made them lose their sanity.
Sotamursu90 2 years ago
Sorry, but FREE WILL is not a biblical concept, it is a religious cop out.
givingmantoo 2 years ago
I used to be religious when I was younger, but a few things really bothered me and eventually led to the conclusion that religion is based on lies and "rewards" ignorance.
First of all: how do you know God is real?
You probably answered that he's real because the bible says he is.
How do you know the bible is true?
You don't.
Satan is a scapegoat for you. Instead of considering the fact that your doing things that are "wrong", because you want to, you think it's satan tempting you.
Sotamursu90 2 years ago
God proves himself real through prophecy (revelation and such) and through many other things. Your inexperience can not say my experience is false.
What is evil? The definition of evil is: "Morally wrong" - we all have a moral, but where does it come from?
cwade12c 2 years ago
Basic morals are pretty much:
Good - Things that are good for the society and keep us alive and happy
Evil - The opposite
Morals are just a set of rules we made to keep our species going.
Sotamursu90 2 years ago
Also, please feel free to elaborate on what these other things are. Personal experience that cannot be scientifically proven is useless, you can't say that god exists because I saw him, but no one else did. I also forgot to mention something on the quantum mechanics part, even if(and a big if too) quantum mechanics pointed to a higher being, what makes you think it's the christian god and not one of the other deities?
Sotamursu90 2 years ago
If you want, send me a message here on YouTube and I'll write back with all the reasons why. The Quantum theory leads to the Christian God rather than other Gods.
And... I can't say God exists and nobody else saw him? Reality check: 2.3% of the world is Atheistic. There are about 1.6 billion Christians in the world. I think that's a little different from the stanza of "no one else did"... maybe you're just the one seeing past it.
GB.
cwade12c 2 years ago
Also, if you want to fancy with it, you could look into quantum mechanics and modeling... the awakening theory + the entanglement theory and such. God works in mysterious ways, you can find those Scientific studies to relate to God very adaptively and closely.
cwade12c 2 years ago
As for the quantum mechanics thing, I haven't really looked into those in depth, but if there was something that was solid proof of god, we would all know of it. Feel free to point out the parts that relate to god.

Yet somehow, they just don't see, and don't think it at all arrogant, to imagine the whole universe was created JUST FOR US.

Paul was referring to where he came from. He used to persecute other Christians and have them put to death before he became one himself. Calling himself the "chief of sinners" does not mean his faith was weaker, he was just saying he's no better than anyone else that does wrong because everyone commits sin.
Rawk4Life 2 years ago
So, from your perspective, saying oneself is the chief of sinners is no different than saying we are all equal sinners. Why would he then say "chief" which, in normal language, indicates a leader or highest or something of that nature. Realizing that we atheists read things in the bible "out of context" please do your best to explain why he would use the term "chief" if he really meant that he's "no better than anyone else" in terms of being a sinner. Are not all sins equal in the eyes of god?
1140Cecile 2 years ago
He was saying that he's the last person that should point out anyone else's sin seeing as he's had his share of wrongdoings. "Chief of sinners" is just an expression to say "If you want to pattern your life after someone, don't look at me because there are things in my past life I am not proud of."
Rawk4Life 2 years ago

EssedariusMaiestas 2 years ago
@EssedariusMaiestas
1140Cecile 2 years ago
1140Cecile,
in their "full reality"?
my full reality is a whopping 1 x 10^(-infinity) of total ongoing reality of all time/space/dimensions... (i may be a bit generous here with this amount)......
but any way....what is yours "full reality"?
-.-
EssedariusMaiestas 2 years ago
Faith, n. -- Belief without evidence in what is told by one who speaks without knowledge, of things without parallel.
In other words (and correct me if I'm wrong,) faith requires no evidence.
Then why, if you can explain, does faith keep poking its feeble snout into empirical realms, sniffing around for proof?
Shouldn't it be above such things?

JF, I understand your struggle with your religon and your behavior. But I think that it rests on an error in judgement. You perceive "yourself" as a singular, unified being who is in complete control of his behaviour. This is not so.
For the latter, clearly cognitive science teaches us all about unconscious processing (mind you, I'm not talking about the pseudo-science of Freud) that guide our emotional experiences and our judgement of actions. We are not the masters of our souls.
M4ruta 2 years ago
I have learned all about this, both in my courses as a student of biological & cognitive psychology, as well as from my own personal interest in the matter. Humans are prone to logical fallacies and error in judgement. You shouldn't blame yourself for this. Rather, I recommend that you recognize this and try to minimize the damage. But please don't torment yourself by not living up to some utopian ideal.

lovetruthlovelife 2 years ago
So, god is beyond your understanding and you say you can know nothing of him. Well, you just called it a "him", so that's saying that you believe you know something about god. Next, you've somehow decided to believe that a fellow, Joshua, son of Joseph, is not only the predicted "messiah" of the Jewish religion but also god. Just what made you come to that conclusion? Other than wishful thinking, do you have any reasonable basis that you can remember when you decided to believe as you do?
1140Cecile 2 years ago
It is indeed interesting that you open your message with "God is beyond our understanding! We KnowNothingofHim!", whereas I counted no less than seven (fitting number, wouldn't you say?), SEVEN assumptions about what this god is/does.
M4ruta 2 years ago
"That Just it...God is beyond our understanding!"
Is he, or is he not?
The bible is useless if the above statement is literally true.
However, if the bible is the word of God, then you necessarily have at bare least a rudimentary understanding of God, which undermines, as well as contradicts, your opening statement.
It would seem quite odd for one to go tossing around a word as positively as this when one has already conceded it's a word that represents lack of understanding

1140Cecile 2 years ago
coming from the Devil.
1140Cecile 2 years ago

"I do things contrary to his will. That makes my faith much harder"
The theological mindset is a very good way to make things harder for yourself in this modern day.
Faith itself may well make some things easier, but the theological mindset in particular never fails to break down upon the crudest introspect.
Theology serves as a demonstration to the self, that one does not actually posess the knowledge they claim.
One can not ignore this cognitive discrepancy very easily.

Hey Anthony isn't it kind of dangerous to be doing a video when your driving?
TheEnemyOfTheFaith 2 years ago
Christian faith is totally blind. You creeps believe in all kinds of shit which can never be proved. Read David Hume on Miracles idiots.
TempleOfLight888 2 years ago
You said near the end of the video that you're lacking in faith. Does this mean that you feel that if you were to die at this moment you would end up in hell?
RedcoatMusketeer 2 years ago
Where the hell do you get this idea of Lucifer from? It's unfathomably unscriptural.
ThisIsRysta 2 years ago
0_o Lucifer IS mentioned in the scriptures, dude.
XiaoFury 2 years ago
Yes, as a title for the King of Babylon. The text has fuck all to do with Satan.
The title is not even in the original Hebrew text of Isaiah. The Catholics invented the name to try to demonise the 'light bringer' aspect of enlightenment. The real word is 'howl', and Isaiah is simply proclaiming that the King of Babylon will be in torment.
I think it is amazing how Christians assume that 'Lucifer' is a title for Satan when there is literally no single shred or hint of it.

This video seemed more intellectual than usual.

much of what you say JF makes me think that you are just one thought or realisation away from becoming an atheist.
bignastydragon 2 years ago

Lol at all the Christian comments saying "Christianity not blind m8" with no justification.
Rossicspwn 2 years ago
Your doubts are the product of reason and skepticism. Your method of pushing them out of your mind is blind dogmatism, what you're calling faith. It's tragic to see.
bitbutter 2 years ago
it makes me feel sorry for JF, seeing him so close to the realisation, yet it seems like he will never take the step.
bignastydragon 2 years ago
I'm encouraged to hear you mention that you find it hard to understand why children and babies suffer. I'm disappointed that you're comfortable to brush this doubt under the carpet by ascribing it to the action of the devil.

Good vid, both content- and visualwise.

Yeah right mate. No myth. flesh vs spirit battle is the issue here. Christianity is far from a blind faith.
sparkshot 2 years ago
Care to elaborate?
TokenDrone 2 years ago
you still keep on sinning because you know in your heart that what you supposedly 'believe' is a myth.
RationalTheism 2 years ago
I think what you said was an outlet for your feelings that what YOU believe might be a myth, I could understand why.

you made some very good points in this video. No one is innocent. Also, no one is left without excuse.

An infinite being wouldn't care about where we put our genitals.
WhiteDragon103 2 years ago
Not even if it generates so much misery in our society? Rape, Unwanted children, diseases. You name it.
RealTrueTarget 2 years ago
Touche. Though, I was thinking of homosexuality in particular. And, pre-marital sex, and recreational sex are other examples. I think a hypothetical "infinite" being - removing all the religious connotations - may care for the well being of sentient life.
WhiteDragon103 2 years ago
"I think a hypothetical "infinite" being - removing all the religious connotations - may care for the well being of sentient life"
I bet "it" does, more than we could probably ever imagine.
RealTrueTarget 2 years ago
I hope you are right. But I don't buy the explanations people like JF give for why there is suffering in the world - suffering imposed on people whom are not otherwise involved or responsible for - which an infinitely powerful being could take away in a heartbeat. I don't buy the idea that an infinite, compassionate being would allow a place like hell to exist, and let people to be subject to what is usually described to be "An eternal pain many, many times more intense than being lit ablaze."
WhiteDragon103 2 years ago
The genitals were created by him, for a specific and holy purpose. Warping what God has created destroys our relationship with him. It doesnt damage him, it damages us. The only problem is, is when you break moral laws, there is always a 'lag' factory, but the consequences always occur sooner or later. Morons who dont know better call it karma.

Your faith is BLIND BELIEF.
TempleOfLight888 2 years ago
Christian faith is not blind. Grow up.
havock89 2 years ago
how is it not?
TokenDrone 2 years ago
What, a fucking virgin conceives without taking a cock up her twat. I'm supposed to believe that un-provable bullshit. And a dead man gets up off the fucking slab and walks? It's you who needs to grow the fuck up...Christian retard.
TempleOfLight888 2 years ago
YOU arn't SUPPOSED to believe anything. You are supposed to live you life the best way you know how, maybe have some kids, and when the grave claims you, thats your lot.
I am however supposed to respond to the grace I have recieved by my God.
We aren't talking about the same thing anymore.
To say that christianity has a blind faith is to say that there are NO actual knowledge that warrents our belief in the gospel message. I said that we christians DO & your next question should be?...
havock89 2 years ago
And what exactly would this actual knowlege be? Nothing.
TempleOfLight888 2 years ago
Again, you answer your own question. You are obviously a cynic, and an abusive personality to-boot.
Bye bye!
havock89 2 years ago
In other words you have no knowlege at all...lol
TempleOfLight888 2 years ago
No, in other words I dont waste time explaining myself to rude jerks, like your not-so-good-self. lol
havock89 2 years ago
In other words you can't explain. Your religion is absurd.
TempleOfLight888 2 years ago
Or your knowledge of our theology is absurd, and anyone with an ounce of self-resepct would not dream of making the rude comments you have made.
Go get a nice constructive hobby or something, and stop being such a misenthrope! lol
havock89 2 years ago
Btw to use the term "fucking virgin" is not only an oxymoron, moron; but its also very abusive to those who hold Mary in such high regard.
I suggest you stop.
havock89 2 years ago
I suggest you get a brain retard. Anyone who holds as an article of faith that a biological virgin conceived and bore a son is a total moron. Likewise anyone who believes that a jew rose from the dead and walked through walls is beyond stupid.
Face it fool...Jesus, if he even existed, died like any other human being and he remained in the tomb to rot...period.
