Ok, the god honest truth is this:

IAMX used to be on a different label-- I can't remember which-- and they released their first two albums, Kiss + Swallow and The Alternative on it. They then signed to Metropolis, and re-released those albums. They then decided to make new videos for them as well in close proximity, which resulted in a few rather low budget videos.

Ultimately, I think the video suits the feeling of the song, and there isn't really anything wrong with it.
