Thrive Food Storage: Spinach Dip

I am confused. Do you make any recipes that just use the Thrive as food storage without using everyday items? I understand that they can be used for everyday cooking, but if I buy food storage items, I want to save them for emergencies and be able to make recipes at that time possibly without power or limited power or just being creative in whatever emergency situation.
