  • By the way, Brian Goodwin is a repair man. He has an awesome video of himself rolling paint onto the side of a house. It has had 82 views.

  • Thank you Brian Goodwin, that is very insightful and clever.

  • Call a repairman idiot

  • the customer service guy told me I need to put less soap in the machine. same exact problem as you. thanks so much for this video. it saved me a lot of time. and what do you know... the replacement parts are on backorder.

  • My LG washer is doing the same thing. Thanks for solving the mystery! My washer dances around the floor and I have 3 girls who unwittingly deposit all sorts of goodies in my machine!

  • I just got my 3.5 washer and dryer from home depot today 10/11/11. First wash it starts leaking out this very same spot! I'll see if get any luck cause since I'm under warranty.

  • Thanks Man! Over 6k hits......looks like these washers shit the bed a fair bit. Mine just cut it's guts too.....Looking forward to calling LG (not!).

  • OMG!!! Thank you for posting this!!! I had the exact same problem & thanks to you-was able to get the parts and install them with no issues!!!!!

  • my LG started leaking from the soap dispenser! this is a POS product. It worked great for about 2 yrs also. WTF! and their customer support is crap too. You are very patient and calm. I'm about to lose it over here.

  • Thanks for the comments, the service guy ordered the parts, hopefully with the redesigned part to be replaced

  • I took pictures of the old and new parts side by side, I will have to dig them out. In my opinion, LG's phone support should be trained to recognize this issue and the redesigned part should be shipped out at no cost. Lucky for me I figured out the problem and fixed it myself. I would hate to have paid $100+ to have a service person come out only to have the problem be due to an LG design defect.

  • Been a while since I posted the video, so I can't recall if this is part of it or not. When I finally was able to get the correct replacement bellows tube replacement part from LG it was different from the original part, by which I mean designed differently. The replacement part had a place where the bellows was flattened so the water supply line and bellows tube would not make contact and rub holes in each other. I think this is a design problem LG is aware of, hence the part redesign.

  • I bought my LG April of 2010 and the machine started leaking, a service tech came out, and showed me the problem, and it's just like your video. Waiting to see how LG handles it

  • On February 2 2011 I got a call from Stan with LG in reference to this video. He apologized for the problem with the washer, says he wished it had gone differently/that he had been the one helping me and asked if I had been able to get it fixed (and if not, here's the number to a service center). I suggested LG train people who take calls to recognize this design defect problem and ship the modified replacement part for free.

  • Lifes Garbage!

  • I'm originally from England, then I lived in Northern Ireland before I moved to the States in 1993. Oh, and by the way: LG mailed me a replacement part...it was the wrong part.

  • hi are you american or english you have a kinda a dorset accent
