Ya he defiantly coulda gone against the boards earlier and closer. Goalies in the Lower leagues if they get hit the. Usually it's a penalty cause many players are immature and will actually go for the hit but also cause there would be so much arguing with league officials and convieners and parents and coaches that you might as well give 2 mins instead of wasting days arguing
@sabresrule0029 No, I am not wrong. You made up the "privileged area" concept. The rule talks about incidental contact. Incidental contact works both ways. if you read the rule, the goalie can actually be penalized while in his "privileged area". You have now dragged the goalposts from Miller owning the space to the definition of incidental contact.
Goalies leave the crease to play the puck because they *know* that they are untouchable. Just once, I'd love to see the goalie get absolutely smoked. If they are concerned about getting bumped, stay in the net. If you leave the crease to join in the play, you should be fair game.
how is that a penalty? when somebody steps in front of you at the last second, there's not much you can do.... he tried to hug the boards, but Miller just skated to in his path at the last second.
Why the fuck did Miller go out of his net? I'm not saying Philips should've hit Miller, but it was pretty stupid of him to go out of his net in the first place.
@MTRadio Lol, moron. You obviously know I'm right - and you hate the truth - because all you can say is "sdfu pansy". Typical of someone who has nothing to support what they say, personal attacks. I'm not gonna bother arguing with a lousy 12-year-old wanker.
@LolGui u r very good at making a point.. sounds like u have made stupid accusations before. But if a goalie comes out of his net it doesn't give the player the right to hit him. so... sdfu pansy
@MTRadio I suggest you take reading lessons - Where did I say it gave the player the right to hit Miller? All I said is that Miller absolutely didn't have to go out of his net in that situation, and with Phillips coming at a high speed it's a bit hard to avoid Miller, especially when he's directly against the boards.
Chris Phillips could have avoided Miller! But he was taking is time to wait until Miller was right by the boards to play the puck!

@sabresrule0029 Agreed. It could have been avoided. However, the goalie does not have an unconditional free pass. Please read my previous comment.

@sabresrule0029 Please feel free to link to the rule that defines the goalie's "privileged area".

@sabresrule0029 Bzzzzt! Wrong! Miller's "privileged area" is in the crease.

Stay in your crease, or shit like this happens.

it clearly shows Phillips getting to the puck 1st & knock it down the boards. bitch goalies get way too much respect outside there crease.
