In a sense she's braiding from the bottom up, its a great technique. You can also start microlocks w/ two strand twists, I have 480 and start them that way and maintain w/ nappylocks tool. When you look at freshly retighten new growth with the nappy locs tool it looks just like a braid
This is such a GREAT video! I'm getting braidlocks so I'm all anal about making sure I latch the right way. Thanks for posting a video with such a great explanation - and your daughter's hair is awesome. :D
was wondering if this techinqe could be used for new growth if another techniqe like backcombing was used to install the locks?? this way seems alot easier!!
Wow.. how interesting is that?! I just bought the nappy locs tool and going to try to get rid of latch hooking, and came across this video. Never saw locs start that way... kewl! I enjoy your videos as well, you're super creative. Out of the box, even.
I truely enjoyed viewing your instruction videos!!! Please continue your updates along with any tips and how tos you come up with. Thanks for sharing :-)
Great, Great instructional vid! You helped me decide to switch from palm rolling to interlocking. My hair doesn't hold up when I palmroll. Looking forward to starting. Thanks!!
Thanks so much for this video. I have been researching as to SisterLocks, and yours is the first I've seen that actually shows 'how to'. There are so many videos of how they retighten, but not the actually install process. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Now I will research as to were to buy the nappy lock tool. You are a blessing. You did a amazing job in showing step by step.
So did you do like 1/4 inch parts with her? I'm still trying to wrap my brain around tht 12, 3, 6, 9 oclock thing. Is that just the direction you are pulling the hair from?
What size tool are you using to get those size locs. I'm going to order this to install locs on my son, because brother locks are too expensive. I like your daughters loc size. Your video is very helpful. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video! I just installed locs on my nephew and wish I had seen this first! I will definitely use this method when it's time for his retightening. This is great and very informative.
Thank you so much!! I wanted to get sisterlocs done on my daughters head, but they are too expensive. I will be doing them myself, with the help of your video
Great video! Very informative!!! I'm about to get my hair done and you gave great information. Thank God I found your video, otherwise I would have made some mistakes during my installation.
This video is very informative...I wish I had seen this video before starting my locs using the palmroll method. I am now one year locked but I am going to switch methods and needed some instructions as to how to use the nappy lock tool before I actually buy it. This video did it for me! Thanks! :)
Thank you for making this vid! I appreciate that you had the camara up close so I can clearly see what you were doing...I am going to start on my daughter's locs...it looks so easy to maintain and beautiful!
Oh my Godness! this is a great video! thanks alot, a whole lot! Will buy my tool now...I wanted the latch hook but i think this one is easier.......thanks sweetheart!
I appreciate all the kind comments and I'll do an update very soon! In fact, I am planning to retighten Ellen's locs tomorrow, so I'll try to get something up this week so you can see how they are looking these days. :)
Thanks so much for posting this! I just had mine done a week ago and they look very similar to your demo. You should post an update video. I'd love to see how they look now.
I have been searching like crazy trying to figure out how to start and you have made it so easy to understand...Thanks for sharing with us i really appreciate this!!
WOW! This is excellent! I just removed locs that I have had for 15 yrs... they were too large and heavy for my scalp. I have been looking high and low for clear directions so that I can start my new 'crop' - thank you so much for posting this video. The directions are very clear and it is very well done. Thank you for posting this video. How long did it take to finish the entire scalp?
I think it took a total of about 11 hours. :) The maintenance hasn't been bad either- about 2 1/2 hours every 2 months or so. We LOVE them! @beloved080
Thanks so much, this is fantastic. I'd like to do this on my own and others' hair. You use the 4-point technique. Will that work with any hair type, or do you have suggestions on how to do other hair types? Thanks,.
Excellent video! I've been researching on restarting my locs. My last set I started with 2 strand twists and maintained with latching. But wanted to see about starting my new set with latching from the beginning. This is the best video I've seen yet on how to start with latching. Thank you so much for a great visual and verbal instructions.
my first set was palm rolled and this latching set should enable much smaller locs, a bit more work with the upkeep, latching compared to simply twisting but i like this set alot
thank you -- this video is very good is, it is exactly what I was looking for. you are clear and precise. and you answered my question, without me having to ask. thanks again.
girl i am not mad at you! you did a great job with video and it is very informative, lighting is great directions are clear. very professional. keep us updated on the process.
Thats OK! Its nice to see someone doing this close up. There are people who want to start doing this to their hair or somebody elses, but the instructions and clarity isn't always close up for all of us to see.
I wondered the same thing myself..
