  • Its a such a good song....but i gotta admit i would seriously be freaked out of i listened to this song in the midnight and i was home alone...i could not make that

freaking room 1408 creepy ass movie

  • @Justlocal,:- thats deep, The sound of Music will never be the same again.

  • I hate the sound! Good music though!

  • @JustLocal- Seriously! Wow, I'm stunned! What is it about the sound that you dislike? This song is simplistic with beautiful harmonies and one of the greatest voices of our time.

  • voice of an angel

  • karen and mama cass, 2 voices taken away from us WAY too soon!

  • #460

  • what a voice and music still miss their records

  • Her hair style looks cool..

  • Very awesome song!!

  • Reminds me of the day I graduated HS - so many dreams...

  • this song is scary

  • 1408 make dis song scary

  • @Donutonsticks haha true fact. I love that movie

  • The 70's the best times ever !!!!!

  • What a beautiful song and voice.

  • this song creeps me out after i watched the movie 1408!! good song!

  • Austin Powers all over.

  • I love this song. She has a beautiful voice

  • ): i know i was born in the 90s but she's one of my mom's favourite singers .... i wish i could of seen her live back then! I'm a fan of her!

  • Love this song

  • Wow what a wonderful song and voice!

  • I wonder if he was shagging her?

  • bratworcht filled with bed bugs all over u

  • stinky socks. (opa) wins on that one hsc style. v(n)ever.

  • i spit out the egg salad sandwhich yetserday in your world/dream. pepsi can cam.. lol

  • u were on the ladder just now setting up ther punishment for that asshole beside u. he is a convicted rapist. now he just casterated himself.

  • sharon stone peanuts anYone ? lol

  • @HaggardNaggar I don't know what AtlanticCross said, because his/her comments have been flagged (enough said), but my guess is some type of vitriol was spewed. How can ANYBODY bring up ANYTHING negative with or about the Carpenters?? I guess these same people would publicly flog Mr. Rogers - it's the CARPENTERS, not MegaDeath (or insert any dark sadistic band here).

  • @greenwich1754 I was there. :D He said "Good performance, and not a [Black] on stage."

[Black] being not what he said, but my censorship. Not politically correct still, but easier to type.

  • harmonies galore and incredible sense of composition

  • just me or does she look the spit of Karen Allen?!

    beautiful voice btw

  • She has an absolutely amazing voice.

  • @acre1307

    best ever imo!

  • 1408

  • This, or "Goodbye to love", my vote for their finest song.

The choice, I guess, is if one wants the up, or 'down', side, iyw.

  • Richard was so instrumental. He was and is the genoius behind thier music.Karen was simply perfect. We wont see her kind again in our life time.I feel pretty lucky

  • how can anyone ever listen to her beautiful voice w/out losing it?

  • @darenunlimited i know i feel her pain every time i listen to her sing

  • I was 8 or 9 when this song first came out. It is still as good now as it was then.

  • The reluctant singer. What a voice. I have, and always will love listening to her sing.

  • we all have our own taste...personally I'm a head banger but, still nobody w/a voice of this goddess of music

  • Its so unfortunate karen had passed on so early, but she made significant contributions to the world of music :)

  • Room 1408 radio music :))

  • @AtlanticCross1 Want my old purple robes?

  • @AtlanticCross1 I know a guy. He happens to be my cousin's brothers friend's (a watermelon grower) aunt's boyfriend's grandmother. She had a boyfriend back in high school (the guy) who had this funny purple hood and robe. Figured you might want them, considering your nature. The group meets Tuesdays.

  • @CrappedATriangle I'll get back to you...gonna take me a week to figure out the family relation

  • @AtlanticCross1 That was an outrageous comment, and I am "dignifying" it with a response... because I believe you deserve to be berated for this nonsense... which it it at best. Why do you not stop watching Y.T., and read a book about the civil rights movement; or even more broadly, and more necessarily, about compassion: the Bible. This is what the song is about, after all. You do not even understand yourself.

  • We loose talent way too soon. The spotlight makes them pour their life out on stage. Managers and handlers squeesing every dime out of them. Karen is only one of hundreds in music, movies, and T.V.

  • a angel who was taken away way too soon.

  • Really... i am old

  • OBAMA 2012

  • (Mortal Kombat Style) OUTSTANDING!!!!!!

  • The other "Live" video from the BBC 1971 here on YouTube is really quite excellent. You hear all the guys harmonizing, with live brass and strings; and Karen doing an outstanding job.

  • La mejor voz blanca femenina de todos los tiempos ...

  • 1408 is not scary u want t see scary watch the excorist the directors cut

  • hey atlantic stop using that word and this song is from a bank commercial

  • Todas las the camperters son hermosas canciones, que nos traen armonia a nuestra alma.

  • AtlanticCross1 GTF off this forum!

  • 1408 totally ruined this song...... lol

  • 1408

  • Karen Carpenter was an icon, and is still much admired to this day. It is a great pleasure to view a Nigger free environment, my admiration to the Carpenters.

  • This was the brother/sister duo's second smash. Some believe this to be their finest song; and in some respects it is; but, actually, I believe it to be, and what would then be ironically, "Goodbye to love". Because most of their songs were about love; the cherishing of it.

  • This reminds me of that movie "1408" SCARY SHIT....!!

  • @AtlanticCross1 Hey man, you're free to have an opinion but that doesn't mean you have to voice it. Why would you bring up race? Music is a universal language and it should be enjoyed by everyone. The colour of their skin shouldn't matter.

  • @HaggardNaggar No, it's not "shouldn't matter", it's "doesn't matter"!

  • @MrHonwe Wow..your input really contributed to what I had to say...

  • @HaggardNaggar Amen to that!

  • she has the greatest voice ever. hands down i miss her voice

  • 168 dislike wtf must be some niggas/wiggas

  • We as people all must die in some manner, one is tragic, some are all dreadful.

  • THOSE hairdos!

  • thumbs up if you are here because of 1408 movie

  • @LittleJohnEnterprise I knew the song before:) but when I heard it on 1408 again I thought, fuck you room. I actually like this song;)

  • Karen Carpenter, I am still heartbroken baby!

  • Nice ;-)

  • God, If I were her age, I would have married her! What a beautiful person!

  • Last year we learned about anorexia.. and we learned about her.. SO SAD!

  • Truly one of the most remarkable voices of any generation, an absolute treasure that left us far too soon. RIP Karen, we miss you and love you.

  • we watched the Karen Carpenter story in girls' health and we now we luv the Carpenters :)

  • too bad she died of anorexia

  • Classic song.. and after 1408 I don't look at it the same.. still beautiful though, just now it carrys this overshadowing forboding evil tone. lol.

  • I'm here because of 1408

  • very very sad, the anorexia destroy so many lives, beautiful people like Karen Carpenter.

  • 1408!!!!!!!

  • A lot of the heads didn't dig this stuff when it came out "light and weak' woulda been the complaint--but wholesome and groovy is what it really is--perfectly played, sung and produced.

  • I played this at my mother funeral reception couple years ago. So many hits of the 70's she loved and reflect my memories of being a teenage pain tint he ass. I guess it runs in the family now I have a 10 year old autistic son that has all the rebelious moods I did. This music and her voice is timeless and I hope it wil

l shape his taste in music!

  • MTV

  • what a great music and that voice of Karin... I still enjoy it today... miss you

  • Just going through all the best of "The Carpenters". Such a beautiful voice. What a sad loss.

  • We love you, Karen.

  • the way she sings, "talking it over, just the two of us" the second time... something about that just does it for me. Always loved that part to the song and her fairly funky drum playing.

  • RIP Karen.

  • Maravilhosooo...Essa música é linda demais!!!

  • I preferred the one from Happy Gilmore, but a real soothing song

  • America's Team is the Dallas Cowbowys and it's Sweetheart is Karen Carpenter. If you don't like that; move!

  • I miss the Carpenters! :)

  • OK MOTHER FUCKERS YOU WANT TO GET ALL HEATED UP ON THIS CHECK OUT THIS SHIT ITS FROM 1973 AND ALL BLACK

  • LOOK UP 1973 KFC COMMERICAL

  • @aaronpourazar I did.Nothing.

  • How in the hell did a political discussion materialize on this sight ??

  • Mi niña te dedico ésta canción te quiero mucho, aunque ya no tan niña,para mi siempre lo serás.

  • Obama is a great foreign policy president and doing good economically so far!

  • Barack Obama we love you my President!

  • @padude64 if you want war, by all means vote Obama, but if you want peace, vote Ron Paul.

  • I am voting for Barack Obama! Peace be with you my President!

  • @padude64 End the wars. Ron Paul 2012. For Love - For Peace

  • @LibertarianBiker You republicans have screwed Barack Obama and payback is a bitch!

  • @padude64 I'm not a Republican (hint: see user name)

  • Very nice song, first heard it in a hotel the other day, when the radio turned on by itself. Then there was a piece of chocolate on my bed and I started freaking out.I had to call the manager, a black dude that looks like Samuel Jackson.

    Freaky stuff man.

  • sweet voice

  • My mom use to play this song all the time when I was little. To this day it's still enjoyably creepy.

  • only good music came before auto tune

  • she's pretty

  • 7 million views even though she's been gone for decades. Shows you that true talent stands the test of time.

  • Incest.... Interesting.... So Interesting... Think about it.. Listen to the Lyrics...

  • @Porsche550usa ? what do you mean?

  • A fantastic song by a beautiful artist with the mellifluous voice of an angel...God Bless you Karen Carpenter.

  • So sad that this beautiful, bright song is only remembered in that shitty movie "1408" and not on its own merits. That's why it's going to be a highlight of my movie in the making.

  • @FilmFreakable2 hah i stumbled upon this song sucker...i dont even know that movie

  • It's a dumbass, nausea inducing horror movie.

  • 1408? am I right?

  • This is still much better than Justin Beiber. =)

  • Bieber is a talentless piece of carefully sculpted plastic. Karen's the real deal.

  • @FilmFreakable2 Exactly =)

  • This was my "wedding song" in 1977. Yes, I am still married to the same man. Tomorrow is our 34th anniversary. I sang this song all the time.

  • since i've seen room 1408 this song scares the shit out of me

  • Still miss Karen, thank God for youtube & people who post fantastic memories, thanks all!

  • Karen's voice will never be replaced. I would, however, give up ever hearing her music if she could have just known that she was good enough and has touched so many people's lives with her voice.

  • One of my favorite songs from the past.

  • A once in eternity voice, truely the voice of an angel

  • this song def doesnt need more cowbell...its just fine the way it is

  • epic song, epic forever

  • This is why the 60s and 70s would have been great to live in. The music actually required you to be talented, to have a voice, and to try hard. You didn't have to be slutty to get famous either. Karen wasn't hot, she was beautiful. This is what I would have missed if I grew up then.

  • i play world of warcraft add me, uther -velath

  • How ironic - she had it all and didn't think it was enough...

  • Bring back the story songs man! Lose all the teeny-bopper, waste-of-earspace crapola floating around the planet from the huge American fall-out cloud and get back to some real sounds! The Carpenters will live on forever, along with a tone of their contemporaries, just because they were that damned good. You could hear and understand every lyric, they used more than four different sentences within one song, and their mixed down harmonies created an other-worldly ear-mosphere. Bow down Bieber!

  • I graduated a decade too late for this to be my prom or graduation song. I know some people think the song is sappy and cliche but I find it beautiful. Give me Karen and Richard Carpenter over all of these auto-tuned club groups and rap.

  • Karen died of a terrible disease. Such a loss!

  • I always hated the way television always would put musicians in scenarios where they were ONLY singing. This video of "The Carpenters", (Richard & Karen), is an excellent example of why. Richard Carpenter was a talented pianist. His sister Karen, was a talented Drummer as well as one of history's great vocalists. You can tell that both of them are searching for something to do with their hands. They want to be playing their instruments. NOT have someone else do it for them. Thanks for posting it

  • Karen Carpenter, a brilliant star - absolutely irreplaceable

  • reminds me of elton john

  • still listen this song in 2012 <3

  • @iamvevey70 isn't it amazing how songs that were written and sung back in different times still live on even today? I'm with you. They had such an exceptional quality and talent. I wish they were still here. I wonder what Richard Carpenter is doing now? Does he still write or arrange music?

  • One of those songs that just captures you and takes you right back to your childhood, early 70's I believe? Love it.

  • cooollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • she had the most beautiful voice..... luv her... :)

  • Judy was a very good judge.

No one has come close since Karen passed away 30 years ago now.

  • What a golden voice she has.

  • Anyone know if they wrote this song? The theme is incredibly ironic, given the state of Karen Carpenter's marriage right up until the day she died.

  • Best song Ever!

  • @MsLadyshines

May your daughter rest in forever peace and a Happy New Year to you MsLadyShines

  • Thank you:)

  • I remember when this album came out - Karen Carpenter took the world by storm. She had such an incredible and musically pure voice. I look at the so-called artists today, and there is no comparison. What a talent.

  • @MsLadyshines A biggest hug for you Judys mom:)
