I just stumbled across this, and I think it's great. One of the voices sounds like Terry Jones (Monty Python). Regarding the "canned" vs "live" laughter debate. Apparently it was a live audience, but they had to be able to laugh in the exact style of canned laughter. Laughing auditions were held in the theatre foyer). Many were turned away, including me, as they said I chortled (with a Swedish accent) rather than laughed. So unfair.

Live studio audiences sometimes sound like canned laughter. Programme-makers will edit laughter -shortening the ending, etc...- just to keep the pace of the show going along, getting rid of any audience noises that may be too distracting.

An ex-colleague of mine is a semi-pro film maker (live not animated) so always useful to get more info for when he ropes me into the next film!!
