Here's a tip, everyone. When he is in snake mode, if you can't aim at him just throw a bomb when he comes close to you. He'll slow down for 8 seconds.

Easy way to avoid taking damage in the snake phase: Hookshot onto the red wooden platforms on the walls.

They have pots with Arrows and Magic, too.

I just found it out yesterday, while fighting him. Decided to try it out, and it worked. Actually stops him for a bit longer than what hitting him does. More than enough time for me to run around his body from the face and hit him with the Arrows.
