  • good instructional video pretty much this is exactly whats done in the field. just one recommendation next time get someone to help you with the camera. other than that good job

  • you want to tack it out of the bubble a bit so it walks in the bubble.and for structures always tack the high side or longer side or you won`t be able to square it.nice vid!!

  • why do not clean it??

  • would u mind show me welding pipe in 6g position? i have a test next week

  • hit it while it's hot. nothing like the smell of 5P early in the morning.

  • The only time I would brige tack is if I had a purge on exotic metal like stainless or chrome. Thanks

  • i bridge tack instead of root tack you only have one tye in then

  • what is a lathe chuck?

  • I totally agree. Where did you get it. Maybe you could shoot me a picture of your set up. Some guys use a hub assembly with bearings too. Thanks!

  • hey instead of your flange wheel you can also use a lathe chuck. I have one on the back of my welding truck its a whole lot faster to get it level and roll it out instead of fighting with the jacks.

  • The reason I use the flange wheel is for the purpose of rolling it out. I have a nut tacked to the outer sleeve and a bolt with a point on the end of it to bite the inside pipe.

    Works pretty good.

    Thanks

  • we dont use a flange wheel in my shop, rather we just put the flange in a vice and its secured-done deal... i was wondering if you have a set-screw on your wheel so the dam thing cant spin once the flange is 2-holed?

if not maybe just pop a hole in the outer sleeve and weld a nut on and run a bolt thru... nice vids...

  • The sun wasn't shining in my shop. I have a cake hood.

That is funny. Thanks for the comment.

  • hey man good vid. on thing wear your pancake your a rig hand

  • Thank you. If you haven't signed up on my website you really need to do so. Got some killer content that won't get out to all the web. Just for my list of subscribers.

  • Sometimes a tack brakes on occasion. That's no biggy. I don't usually switch between to machines. Thanks for the comment.

  • very good..you are good..and i agree why switch between two welders.

  • if ur tryin to do sumtin lik dat i wud use my mig welder to put a litle tack on it den get it square n put mor tacs den if it needed it witch it probs dnt i wud swap to my stick welder but unless da mig aint powerful enough da stick is outdated but gd 2 learn it tho

  • One more thing: Why you so nervous, man? Relax bro.

  • I'm not nervous at all my friend. I am extremely confident with what I am doing but when the camera is rolling and people are expecting solid content I don't want to waste my time or any one else's. I am used to operating at a fast pace.

  • Keep the good work up trying to inform/teach new welders. I look forward to your continuing series on pipe wleding

  • welding is a lot of fun im doing it in school at the moment i hope 2 have a job involving it in the future good vid thnx 4 taking the time 2 make it :)
