@RobertHuck64 there is yes, you simply just go to the appearance menu, then change the theme from there, and just re-arrange ur top and bottom bar to its original settings!
@myschak Because whether we like it or not, Windows maintains 90% of the market, and if we want to help someone get away from a windows computer into a Linux computer, many times they don't want to learn anything new (which is a burden on many people since they're used to windows). So this is a good way to slowly transition them from Windows to Ubuntu so that they start understanding the difference one step at a time (rather than one reboot at a time while dualbooting)
Oh, I give up. The past 2 comments I posted on your videos, I've fixed them. Thanks for the tutorial! My computer looks as if it now has Windows 7 aside of Windows XP. It looks awesome! There is maybe 1 or 2 things I need to mess with for it to suite me but, yeah, thanks. Am more than happy.
@25141920 Sorry i didnt respond! you caught me at a busy weekend =x
what exactly was the problem? and how'd you fix it? for future reference if somene has the same problem. And what other 1 or 2 things do u need to mess with it to suite you? it be nice to know so i can add them when i update this video!
Im glad in the end you were able to solve the problems, again sorry i didnt respond :(
@CJay554 It's fine. Problem 1 - After I'd restarted my computer from part 1 of the tutorial, my icons at the top of a window, minimise, close etc, had disappeared. I had to right click the tab of the window in the taskbar to use them. Couldn't work out the problem. So I turned the computer off for the night, came back to it the next day and they were there... Weird problem. Don't know what was going on.
@CJay554 Problem 2 - GnoMenu. I tried twice and did what you said. It didn't work. So I tried it once more and it wasn't there still, so I powered my computer down and went out up town with my brother, came back and booted the computer up and looked for it again, it was there.
Sorry about posting two comments.. I couldn't fit both problems in the same comment.
The GnoMenu isn't showing up when I go to my 'Add to Panel'. I've tried it twice, let it load and it isn't showing. I did EXACTLY what you did but it won't show.
i have one thing to say i beg someone tel me how to switch from ubuntu 10.04 back to any windows windows xp starts the istall ends with blue screen of death
windows 7 the install goes until the part when you have to perss that insta buttun set your region all those things but 2 me nothing apears please someone help me ubuntu isn't for me at all i cant do anything i want....
@mihai96z3d Hey, as far as windows you should be able to simply install it, just pop the cd in and install, if you have a burned CD make sure your burner is good. If the problem persisted try someone else's burner. Many times a burner can go bad and burn a bad copy with errors. Im sorry you didnt like ubuntu =( but also know that you can dual boot windows and ubuntu on the same machine. Again a far as switching back simply reinstall, make sure your CD's are not scratched up or bad burned.
@CJay554 its not from the burner im very shure it workd every time i needed him and last night i made a copy of wind 7 and the same thing as the old one didnt apear nothing
@mihai96z3d so were you able to boot into the CD and start the installation? or were you not able to boot into the CD at all? I'll help you as best I can, Windows installations aren't as easy and user friendly as Ubuntu installations...
@CJay554 well i yes i dunno how but i think win 7 set up my bios to stop me from installing XP i didnt had this prob before:D now im using a hacked version of vsita cuz i didnt find my aduio driver for vista
@mihai96z3d I installed Ubuntu in Windows, I can now switch between them as the computer boots up, no problems at all... Except the upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04.. That takes ages.
@TehkGEAR I'm glad my petty little videos can help :P don't forget to look through all of the videos i have! theres enough to turn you from newbie to pro =) and of course subscribing is the best way to pay me back =)
Excellent work and video. I was able to get much of this to work and it looks great. My Orb isn't transparent and I can't deal with the open and close sound of the start menu on my laptop (especially with earphones on) so if you can help here it would be great. Beyond that, good job CJay.
@MrVeeBlog right click on the start menu and inside you can change the "theme" for the sound to play, just select none and that should be it. Thanks for the feedback =)
thereis an easier way to install GnomeMenu. Open Software Sources (Synaptic - Settings - Reprositories - Other Software) and then press "ADD" and type ppa:gnomenu-team/ppa then update reprositories and install in synaptic gnomenu
@Dezfor yeah that is easier for those that understand it, but im just trying to keep everything GUI wise, even though software sources are GUI, it involves text which might get miss-copied, or other typical user errors, though the method of ubuntu tweak is a bit overkill, yes there are shorter methods, this method is just for those that don't want to get involved in copying pasting or going into system>admin areas.
CJay554, you are a wiz, and very computer savvy, i am glad that this tutorial actually worked well, but i am still waiting on the gno menu to load, but i give it a 11/10!
@tennisbro95 I can't tell you how much i appreciate that =) Its always good to see people being helped by something i do. Of course if you have any requests on videos or tutorials to be done don't hesitate to ask! I've been running out of ideas lately as i've covered the basics of Ubuntu already, and a bit more of the advanced stuff.
Is there a way to reset everything to the original theme? Like if you change the log in screen is there a way to go back?

I use linux distributions because like 99% users hate windows at all. Now tell me why I should make this retarded theme in my Ubuntu???
