The African American History class only covered from the slave trade to the American arrival because that is African-American history. Black history is anything after the Civil War because most of the roots and ties to Africa died. Vince was using a parallel of slavery to put heat on Piper, but he also wanted to leave it unspoken so as to keep his hands clean of such things. You can't tell me that it never crossed his mind that holding a black man down and lashing him across the back could be viewed as racist. The African American History class only covered from the slave trade to the American arrival because that is African-American history. Black history is anything after the Civil War because most of the roots and ties to Africa died. Thats why it is Black History month not African American History month because their roots can't be traced.
