from brasil. only to remember. roman empire declined when the soldiers didint receive the salaries and the barbarians took rome. now america invest in guns china and india in roads and education. the future belongs to america's choice.
look beyond the census if you want to know about the real India
25% poverty? do you know the corruption rates back there? Do you know that a guy officially earning a salary of Rs 2000 earns around Rs 10000 unofficially?
@jgascoine011 have you been on an international flight on final approach to mumbai airport? cause you should you will see the biggest shanty town ever.
This is the interesting part "95% Chinese, 88% Indians like the idea of free trade, while only 47% of Americans support it". What does that mean? That means many people in the developed countries, enjoying richer lives, just become fat and lazy, and do not want to put in hard word to compete with others. On the contrary, people in the developing countries are more eager to work hard for a better living. That is, sadly, common human nature.
There's such disdain for "big" business. There are unscrupulous businesses, but the market usually realizes it and stops doing business with them. Corporations are not monsters, but people from all levels of the social scale, working hard, contributing to the market and receiving a return on their investment. Rather then being obsessed with "equal results" which is discouraging, we should embrace the "equal opportunity" and strive for greatness in the pursuit of happiness.
@netstepinc You chat shit. A lot of the time people don't have a choice but to do business with corporations which by their very nature care only about money, any sense of fairness or decency is ignored. And the rich manage to shut out the system to poor people undercutting equal oppertunities.
We reverse it by spreading the philosophy of Ayn Rand which says that unregulated capitalism is the only MORAL social system, and that businessmen are heroes, not criminals.
