i like how this guy thinks he has it all figured out, just because some guys theories make sense to him. Just proves that you can explain away anything. Where's the hard evidence? Where's the video tape? We don't have it? It's impossible to know? Then don't be so sure of yourself. Science doesn't equate to truth. I have realized lately that while it tries to be so authoritative, most of it is so subjective and constantly changes. Don't trust anything, not even science! Find truth yourself!
could the 'transitional species' not rather be flatfish that have not fully matured? After all "flatfish are born like us and most other vertebrates with eyes on opposite sides of their head but after about six months one eye stars to gradually move towards the other side of the head as development continues..."
@Gorillarevolta we can tell when animals are mature or immature by their reproductive organs, and when we find multiple specimens of different sizes and ages to compare to one another.
As a christian this is simple. The flatfish was perfect, minding it's own business, then about 6-7 thousand years ago, a couple of fruit eating simpletons ate an apple and that caused the flatfish to get messed up. The apple 'incident' also caused the fierce tyrannosausus to quit grazing on grass and become a meat eater. It's so easy to be a christian, you hardly ever have to actually think anymore! Praise jesus!
Do flatfishes even still qualify as bileterian animals?
I understand generally it still does have symmetry, but can one truly call an organism possessing this type of Asymmetrical morphology truly bilateraly symmetrical? I realize it might sound silly to some, since
its still of Bilatarian lineage but still.. oddities like these make me ponder,
Just bizarre. I guess the creationists will have no recourse but to blame the flatfish on the fall of man due to original sin. This god character is a bastard, punishing all life for the sins of a few. And for considering curiosity to be a sin.
@Gorillarevolta Curiosity is what led Adam and Eve to eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. That was the sin. He told them it was the only tree they couldn't eat from... and knew they'd be too curious to resist. Who wouldn't want knowlege? We are knowledge seeking, curious people. And we all got punished for it.
Really? It's like laying a bowl of milk out to a cat and telling them you can drink from any bowl except the one with milk in it.
@lostn65 Again, where in the Bible does it say that God considers curiosity to be a sin? Genesis 2:16-17 says And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” ie 'He told them it was the only tree they couldn't eat from'. As you know - they ate from the tree. However, clearly, it was not their curiosity that was a sin...
@lostn65 Genesis 2:16-17 tells us: "the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” ie: 'He told them it was the only tree they couldn't eat from'. Thus it was not their curiosity that was 'the sin' it was their disobedience as well as their rejection of God's truth for the devil's lie. All sin, ultimately is to disobey God's will of desire.
@Gorillarevolta Belief in evolution does not reject God. Millions of people accept the truth of evolution without compromising their beliefs. Evolution is a simple observation one can conclude from any study of the natural world, as ever last cell of every living thing directly demonstrates and supports it.
Of course we all know, that evolution never happened, the so called "theory" is unscientific and it is just another religion (the one that got it completely wrong).
NemoUtopian: Megrim fellow user. That was terrible. Have you no sole? Go back to the plaice you came from. I'll dab away my tears and hope your next idea will be a bit more brill.

whats more, is it even one its side anymore?
Or is that now the horizontal position in these?

Fascinating, wonderful, well done, you make flat fish and their ancestors memorable, even without the wine and butter sauce.
