@devenmanzanares the out of tune thing will happen to any stringed instrument when it's played, especially if it's brand new, or you get a new set of strings. I reccomend a tuner and just keep checking it regularly.

For the strumming, try Down, Chuck, Up, Down, Up, Down up switch chords Chuck, up down up down repeat etc.

Good strum mate worth noting the m as in Am Dm stands for minor. Major chord are just written A D keep it up.
