  • His tone is honestly unique. There is no other trombone player out there that sounds like him.

  • @trombonemassa

you'r rigth but michel becquet gave a bether tone ;)

  • the best!!

  • I love Winter of Vivaldi by him.. it's simply amazing!

  • at the 2:00 marker about, what piece is his playing????

  • Christian Lindberg's Arabenne

  • If you posted a comment comparing alessi and lindberg you're gay :P

  • look up "trombone giants play jazz". Not only are alessi and lindberg together, but they have three other monster players with them.

  • not gonna happen BRO...

  • I think alessi is a better orchestral player and lindberg is a better soloist lets leave it at that otherwise people will be killing each other on here

  • Everyone always debates on who is better. Christian Lindberg or Joe Alessi. Here is what I think. I think most of you will agree. Joseph Alessi has a fabulous tone like no other. But, I think Lindberg has better technique.

  • es el mejor

  • i want an alto bone so bad

  • Theyre pretty cool, I have one. They take a while to get used to but definately fun to play around with.

  • What on earth is that trombone at 1:04?!?!That's got to be the coolest thing I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I believe it's an Eb Alto Trombone with a Bb rotor. Probably a Conn.

  • of course it's a conn. it's christian lindberg

  • Its a Conn 36H Eb/Bb Alto Trombone.

  • I don't think alessi and lindberg compare very well...Alessi's sound is more round and full but Lindberg's tonguing is impeccable. Just my opinion...

  • shhhh!!!! You might get caught by a douche bag trying to start an argument based on personal taste...

  • Which is the first song in the video?

  • he's good

  • alessi is the best in the us and lindberg is the best in euroupe

  • agree, but who is the best in the world?

  • lindberg's got my vote. his upper range doesn't sound as clean as alessi's to me, but he's got range. and his technique is unmatched by anyone i've heard. in reality though, the world's best is probably someone no one's ever heard of before! haha!

  • "the world's best is probably someone no one's ever heard of before! haha!"

    Why do you think?

hmm,Lindberg played Winter from (Four Seasons by vivaldi)I am not sure whether alessi can play this but this doesnt make lindberg the best player,it's very hard to decide..

  • well, there are thousands of trombone players all over the world. the odds that someone out there who's better than lindberg but just hasn't been discovered is pretty good.

and i think lindberg's better than alessi with technicality and showmanship. but i think alessi's got better range and overall tone.

  • i think that alesi has the better tone but lindburg has better technique

  • I agree

  • Christian Lindberg has been and will be the best trombonist in the world for a long time.

  • Joe Alessi is the best, his tone is darker and stronger than the bright European style that lindgberg produces.

  • It's your taste, for my own I think Lindberg's sound is a concerto sound, nobody plays Ferdinand like him. In Ferdinand you cannot play with dark sound, can you? It's the best sound for me. In addition, have you ever listened to Lindberg's Classical Concertos records? He doesn't need dark sound to play Leopold Mozart Concertos, for example.

Think about it. I only have given my opinion, don't be angry.

  • Lindberg is great, but the majority of professional trombonists, teachers, and students would say that Joseph Alessi is the best. Lindberg is more concerned about selling his stupid mouthpieces and promoting Conn. Alessi would take him in a throwdown

  • I have TWO lindberg mouthpieces, and I can insure you that I have them because I feel very well playing with them. I've tried lots of mouthpieces (wick, romera, schilke, bach...) and for my taste they're the best. But, as you know, there are not good or bad mouthpieces, it depends of each one who plays.

I agree that Alessi plays very well, his sound is beautiful. But I prefer Lindberg's sound. And you should not say it's stupid. It's him job and no one can do it better. LINDBERG RULES!!

  • Lindberg is a showman, Alessi is a performer. They're both great Trombonists with different styles and techniques...done.

  • I agree with you DancingSpacePotato. DONE.
