  • @flobtheblob. he had surgery on his vocal cords because he smoked so much pot back in the day, resulting in a lower and stronger voice... so Elton says.

  • Paul Mcartneys voice has not changed a jot since his days with the beatles...only the standard of his output

  • I for one prefer his voice now rather than the original recordings. Think he has more power in his voice now

  • fucking crowd is terrible

  • Magic

  • 5:02 - Lucky kids. They get to hear good live music at such a young age. :-)

  • Aw you can see he's really enjoying it :)

  • I can't believe anyone would ever disresect him & question his talent, no matter what trials & tribulations he was going through @ the time he wrote/composed his songs. Elton John is one of the greatest musicians most of us will ever have the chance of listening to. Shame on you!!

  • is that jackie the jokeman on drums??!! LOL

  • What I would love to know, from him, is if when he sings this song today, if he feels the emotions and thoughts he had when he wrote the song all those decades ago, or if he's sang it so many times it's just another thing.

  • @warped1987 lol but he didn't write his songs.

  • @StevenZB1 Buddy: Elton didn't write his lyrics, but he wrote the music, so you can't say that he didn't write his songs...

  • @amardeleo I obviously was referring to the lyrics.

  • Hate to break it to you guys, but it's not so much the age that took away his voice, it was all the drugs he did over the years, and he even admits it.

  • Love you Elton! Pure musical genius!

  • love this song

  • 3 people are midget dancers

  • Honestly he doesn't sound as good as he did in 1979 when he orginally sang this. He really needs to sing, "HOLD ME CLOSER TINY DANCER"! with a(n) alot more higher pitched voice like he use to! :P

  • @Conqueror441 I think the age has taken some of his voice with it.. I'm sure he would like to sing like in the 70's again. Anyway, the song stills great.

  • @Conqueror441 Buddy: this song was released in 1971, not in 1979...

  • even now with his voice aging it still gives me chill's can't wait to see him this friday in philly

  • even now he sings better than most pop musicians

Elton John one of the greatest musicians of all time!

  • um homen pode fazer lindas musicas com um piano mas Elton John pode fazer até milagres

  • Expetacular

  • I was there 3.5 years ago in that very square!!!

  • 2:43. Best part of the song. Other than all the rest of it.

  • that man does incrediable things with a Piano

  • Nothing like 40 years ago, but still damn good.

  • @combatcommand

I agree. I love the 1971 version. It all goes to show that aging blows

    Greetings from Iran

  • @saeidmomtahan Luckily, i haven't needed to age too far yet ^-^

I here Iran is nice, excluding the war-zones.

    Greetings from the Eastern-US.

  • @combatcommand Iran's pretty amazing. There are no 'war zones'. You just don't mess with the monsters, and they don't mess with you. Same goes for every other nation i guess!

  • @saeidmomtahan My bad, i don't pay too much attention to politics and the such >.<

I'm pretty much oblivious to anything outside of good music, games, and woodworking.

  • @combatcommand

    Sounds like a good life!

  • @saeidmomtahan Indeed :)

  • u probably r too fear123wz so screw it!

  • i saw him in 1982 and he blew the crowd away... he played all of his hits and everyone was screaming for more... he puts on one hell of a show

  • hes the bomb...

  • if i was half as good as him i would shit myself he is my idol

  • I SAW ELTON JOHN IN DALLAS A FEW YEARS AGO, HE IS AMAZING !!! I LOST MY BREATH WHEN HE WALKED ON STAGE, HE WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE MY IDOL !!

  • One of the best songs ever. Sir Elton, thanks so much for sharing your wonderful talent with the world. God Bless, and congrats to both you and David on your son.

  • David in the audience at 5:00 nice!

  • All hail Elton John

  • @Jauzness87 Thats Sir Elton John Hahahahaha, totally agree man!!!!

  • Incredible how he has sustained his talents by adapting his voice as he has grown older. He is truly one of the greatest male singers/artist of all time.

  • @haggesatriani funny thing about artist'... they read the damndest things <3

  • hold me closer, tony danza

  • This is servicable but his voice sure ain't what it used to be. Only to be expected after the problems he has had with his throat. Check out the versions from the early 70s to seem him at his best.

  • Best

    song

    ever

  • Elton's voice is still fine (certainly at 63), it's just too deep for his early songs' high notes. Anyway, his new album The Union, with Leon Russell is his best since the 70s

  • Hi, Elton. my name is, Monica; and i am a huge fan, Sir. I am, at this moment in time, your "Tiny Dancer," my friend. Thank you for allowing me to "use" your art in my life.

  • @MsShelby22 NICE WRITEING OF YOU..YOU MUST HAVE BIG HEART..GOOD LUCK IN YOUR LIFE..WISH YOU THE BEST..PEACE LOVE UNDERSTANDING..!

  • @MsShelby22 yea coz elton johns gonna read that yea

  • i hate when people say he lost his voice. we'll all be LUCKY if we have a voice half as good as his when we're in your prime youth, let alone when we're the age he is now. not a single singer has ever avoided the change their voice makes with age...even the best singers of all time can't get around it. i actually think he sounds even better now that he's older.

  • @flobtheblob

His vocie changed because he got a surgery done in the late 80s after extended drug abuse...He lost his voice there itself...it's not because of age

  • @KINGMJ1990 i know that. his voice has changed further since his surgery...THAT part was due to the 20+ years since the 80's.

  • look at this chubby little hands. new elton is an overweight egomaniacal gasbag.

  • @astroboirap The most talented and wealthiest "gasbag" musician of all time. Stuff another ceeseburger down your throat, you fat disrespectful fuck.

  • @mariofan4523 talented musician of all time? ROFL! HAHAHA! that was a joke right? surely you cant be that stupid. unless your bias towards him because you're gay?

  • @mariofan4523 Not gay at all, nor am I a homophobe like you. Go listen to Lady Gaga and all the other crappy music they're putting out nowadays.

  • Like a fine wine, better with age

  • @jwoodland454 haha ill drink to that

  • go elton go

  • hahhahahahaha 0.07 fail clap

  • @DaizyDroid lmfao

  • @Jointheir777 yep. fuck. off.

  • @Jointheir777 Elton John has never taken the hounor for writing this song. Like most of Eltons songs this is written by Bernie Taupin.

  • @Jointheir777 Elton John has never taken the hounor for writing this song. Like most of Eltons songs this is written by Bernie Taupin.

  • @killerost - The LYRICS were Bernie's, the music (melody) is all Elton John's

  • Elton John is one the best of the best singers ever .

  • Elton John is one the best of the best.

  • This is absolutely shocking.

  • i personally think that he sings amazing both before the surgery and now. it's a deeper, fuller voice than before. Sir Elton John is a legend. i saw him in concert n was blown away. i love him =)

  • tinsel tits

  • woooooooooot Elton corrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • why did he sing it so much better when he was young :(

  • He had throat surgery and your voice tends to degrade as you get older... The singer from The Who can't sing "Lover Reign O'er Me" anymore, check that out.

  • @ronickwillis I like his new voice better than his old one.

  • because he was younger?

  • @ronickwillis He is 60 years old for God`s Sake. " Why did he sing it so much better when he was young " Give me a break.

  • @ronickwillis he had throat surgery a while back, besides, he has been singing since the seventies his voice is going to change over 40 years.

  • elton john ftw

  • i love nigels's back up vocals here on the chorus and "only you" escpecially

  • elton,

you have my total and undieing respect...

    rock on elton rock on

  • @NerddFayce Don't forget Bernie! ha.

  • it was a combination of his throat surgery and time. elton john's baritone voice is more a result of the surgery than time, though, as his voice deepened rapidly in the following years.

it truly is remarkable that elton has been able to continue on touring and writing music with the drastic change. he hasn't even changed the keys of any of his songs. he's just dealt with it.

i would say it's not "too bad" at all, but rather "great job, elton" for sticking with it.

  • @musikyle

    MY GOD.

I NEVER HAD HEARD THAT, THANKS, THE FACT MAKES ELLIE EVEN MORE DE FACTO A GOD. (& BERNIE WITH THOSE LYRICS, PEOPLEARE TOO QUICK TO FORGET THE RHAPSODES

& POETS WHO'VE BEEN DOING THIS SINCE HOMER AND HESIOD...

  • Looks Completely Different At This Concert Compared To His 60th n There Is Only 3 Months Difference

  • just a different outfit, glasses and hair due thats what he always does

  • i love this song :)

and elton looks so dang cute!!

  • prolly so rols! :-P

  • Prolly so Rols lol! :-P

  • Maybe the best Elton John-song ever! Wonderful, thanks for uploading.

  • He's outstanding. Unbelievable Talent

  • He's just... I dunno... I can't describe how wonderful he is!!!

Where are you from? I'm just wondering what nations consider him to have unbelievable talent. :)
