Why do people use fucking crappy computer voices to do reviews and stuff. If you can't use your own voice because you sound like Elmo or something then give it up because no one wants to hear this shit!
why didnt they ask someone who knows about Star Wars instead of that slaphead going on about how good it was in the 80's.hello Star Wars was released in 77,i know as i watched it the first night it was shown at our local cinema
I can't believe you put so much work into this film and then opted to use a horrible synthetic computer voice which makes it totally unwatchable. Oh - wait a sec.........you did this two years ago, and have probably lived to regret it ever since. OK< I'll shut up now... ;-)
I think that George Lucas is a better writer/director than Steven Spielberg -- Lucas's movies on DVD always have commentary tracks. Spielberg's films do not. I think the reason for this is that George Lucas is interested in the art of filmmaking and storytelling.
There's too many rap music, chipmunk noise nonsense at the background.
The narrater's old man voice always stretched too much when saying "Geooooorge Luuuuucas" all the time. A good documentary should not use "George Lucas" too many times. Keep practising.
What is this rediculous shit, why are their rap songs playing in the backround of a documentary about George Lucas, and... why in gods name do you have like Microsoft Sam doing the commentary, was it so hard for you to narrate it yourself.
I agree, this definitely was rushed and the fact that you used a voice synthesizer gives off a lot of bad ideas. Also, XCallingX is a film maker, but in a different way. Film can be interpreted in many ways... I'm try not to insult you right now, so I'd like to apologize for that. Calling has also made many scripts for films that were amazing, but we haven't had the time to make them. His AMV's show his amazing editing skills. All in all, this was INCREDIBLY sloppy.
Uhh as a filmmaker thsi seemed rushed, as the voice you could have gotten a mic and documented it yourself or find a better resource
The effects and transitions seemed random, sloppy, and way to messy they dont fit it seems you just massed alot of different ones for it to be appealing or kool
In 1977 ..I was 8 years old and this movie, "Star Wars" was a huge thing for a kid in 1977, as well as for many adults at the time and was the most talked about movie at that time, right along with Jaws, but I think it also was the genera of that time.
I just think its awesome how one movie/saga/genera has reached so many kids in over 4 decades, and many adults as well. I'm not sure that any other director/producer can really say that, except of course, for Spielberg,.
Im a huge fan of star wars but i can't stand the new movies and the TV series. Please delete them from history and let a new talented director remake them.
What are you talking about!?! Were you dropped on your head!?! The new movies are fantastic. Episode 3 has to be one of the best movies ever made! Not only that, but George is an awesome director. He directed A New Hope (the first movie they made, in case your not smart enough to know that) and I bet you liked that one!
George Lucas : The man who made tha most importan western sci fi film of the historie of cinema now destroys it with a stupid tv series and a desappointing prequel trilogy !
Good attemp for a documentary. I'll be honest the music doesn't do it any favours do. I'd say slow the tempo a little and maybe change the music. But if tha's what you like don't listen to people, go with your vision. Good luck.
He's certainly one of the LUCKIEST directors of all time. He works best as producer or investor. He's a business man. He's not exemplary as much else.
xenepp: In a hollistic/mathematical sense maybe he appears lucky since he's probably directed more bad films than good ones. But regardless of the many bad choices he made on his three Star Wars prequels, it is still an outstanding achievement in film making. Don't get me wrong, I think they're bad - real bad. Maybe he is a better business man than artist. But his success is more the result of hard work, foresight, and wisdom rather than luck.
And rampant stealing. He's my inspiration, but seriously? Star Wars doesn't have much originality in it. He took from Yojimbo, Seven Samurai, the Hidden Fortress, The Searchers, WWII dogfighting footage, King Arthur and the Knights of Camelot, Flash Gordon, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, the Damn Busters, and Casablanca. And probably tons I don't know.
But it's still the best damn movie I've ever seen.
Ah I left off stealing. He's always been very open about his influences and claims Joseph Campbell's comparative mythology studies are the basis for his fiction. I'm not a fan of the school of thought that all stories follow the basic western world Jungian archetypes, but Lucas is. I think Lucas also is great at finding talented people to work with. Irvin Kershner, Lawrence Kasdan, the folks at ILM, etc. Maybe less so in his later films.
Lucas was influenced by Yojimbo, Seven Samurai, the Hidden Fortress etc. If you call that stealing then you really have to apply that to every film and say they all steal. Everything comes out of what has gone before.
No, I mean the scenes are identical, as well as story structure. The beginning? When they find his parents dead and his family burned, and he gives up his farming days to fight the empire? Watch the first like 20 minutes of The Searchers. You'll understand what I mean.
WWII dog fighting footage? Come on now you are just getting calling out random stuff... I am sure a lot of fights in the air are based off of dog fighting footage...
Are you even reading that post? No, this is not random stuff, and if you would just watch these movies you'd understand what I'm talking about... Seriously, have any of ya'll seen any of these movies?? They're good movies!! Just watch The Searchers, the Hidden Fortress, and Damn Busters (though I haven't seen that last one myself) and you'll get it. I don't care if you take out the dogfighting footage, which is friggen' shot for shot.
