  • I love tho look!

  • U look, lovely.

  • have the blush!!! LOVE IT

  • I have to say, this is my favorite tutorial ever! This looked awesome on me, and the colors are just amazing. I wear glasses, and this look is even noticable with my glasses! Thanks so much! I had to beg my husband to get this palette for me, and he is even thankful he bought it!! Thank you Emily!

  • This look is very pretty on you. I just joined youtube in January and have watched you're most recent videos but happened on this one today and it is very different from the berry and earth tones you have been wearing lately.

  • This is SOOO gorgeous! Perfect for a teenager whos going a date but it could also be used for everyday! Very versitile! (:

  • I used the Maybelline Mineral Power in Translucent as a setting powder.. I hate it. It made me break out and I nneeeeeever break out. I was blessed with good skin, but that stuff and the pressed powder foundation from Mary Kay ruins my complexion. Physician's Formula Mineral Wear in Translucent is the best.

  • I bought wakiki palette and I attempted to do this but I think I put the darker browns on too heavy.

I'm a complete beginner with putting makeup on. I've never been a fan of make up because it was hard to find much of anything without it being exxtremely heavy. So I really love this look and want to replicate it but I'm having difficulty getting the same results. :(

  • this is so gorgeous!!!! its probably the prettiest makeup tutorial i have ever found on youtube! thank you so much for making this video!

  • Very nice! I really like that palette- shame they don't do it here in the UK :( I'm sure we've got alternatives here though.

  • Hi been watching your video's and really enjoying them. Have only needed eyeshadow brush, warm eyeshadow peach, pink, blush. I need to now do REAL makeup. Writing to ask if you would consider doing a video for someone with deepset eyes, to open them up or bring attention to them, AND for someone getting up there in years. thanks

  • abercrombie shot at the beginning!

  • What do you think of the Sonya Kashuk brushes? I love the control I get from using different size brushes, but they seem kind of stiff to me. They feel a bit abrasive on my eyelids.

  • I like how your shaded V is softer in this look. Usually you seem to pack on the dark to make an intense V. Here, you look more doe-eyed or something =) So pretty!

  • do the shimmer strips make your face glittery?

  • not glittery but it has some shimmer!

  • hmm maybe ill try it :) thanks

  • this is a geat school look :) most school looks are just too minimal to rele do anything, but this is very nice thanks

  • Making a statement as I see it is not trying to start drama - trust me - if I wanted to start drama - you would know Anyway - makeup on Youtube is not worth getting into a lather about. Keep taking your medication - looks like you skipped a day!

  • No, but when it comes to the topic for this video and to honor her Viewers. She could be more gracious by a small nod to the person who took the time to view and write in with the suggestion or request; it could serve to endear her to her Viewers. This tut inspiration takes no research as it was just a few weeks ago on her own channel. What are you her Mother or something? I'm sure she can speak for herself.. is that what you do? Comb thru comments lookign for chances to defend her - oh brother!

  • Hey thanks a lot! I guess we are made of the same cloth really - we speak up. I do say tho' even IF she got an idea ages ago - if she sees that a Viewer of hers has requested or suggested it too; as a nicety she should say/write that person's user name or something. That practice would give her more credibility for me. Otherwise it seems she wants to be viewed as some sort of prodigy and frankly I'm not seeing that at all.

  • is it really pronounced a-muse-a? i thought it was just amuse.. like "you amuse me." :l

  • am thing about getting the Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips in Waikiki Strip (drugstore)

  • To give credit where credit is due... seems like she does that often - uses ideas or gets ideas from the Viewers or other Youtube sites (like the Outer V video - that one was done by lollipop26 first) and then never mentions the inspiration or the person she was inspried by... sad.

  • but they all use the same techniques, I've seen like 5 make-up gurus do the V on the outer corner of the eye, and that doesnt mean they copied each other, its just a very popular way of doing eye make-up.

  • I actually did this look w/ my PH's Shimmer Strips yesterday:) I'm in love w/ it all over again! I love that it's multipurpose. It makes spending $20 worthwhile!

  • Depend on the PH Shimmer Strip. The Waikiki pallet that Emily uses is great for warm, tanned skin. I have Miami which is great for my lighter skin. :)

  • just to put in my 2 cents, i've had one of the shimmer strips for a while and i use it a couple times a week. i'm a big fan. i tend to blend some of the colors together, so that area has gotten mixed. but you could easily keep them separated if you made a point not to blend up and down.

  • REQUEST: would love to see a tutorial on ideas for color pairing. I tend to pair most colors with some sort of brown (i.e blue w/ brown; pink w/ brown, etc) maybe I can learn to pair other colors together. Thanx!

  • Someone else suggested that you do this about a month ago in your '5 minute face' video... funny that you do not mention that fact.

  • Well, in view of the fact she takes great pride in being a reporter - what about full disclosure?

  • The Glimmer Stripes and this type of "pallet" are also wonderful for traveling with!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I really want that rubenesque paintpot from MAC.. So easy to just slap it on and go.

  • I've had that pallet for a year now. I use it all the time. The colors are great, last long with Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and I have not hit the pan yet.

I use the top two strips as a cheeck highlighter.
