I played almost every Silent Hill game, every F.E.A.R game, and this... This was in my opinion the scariest of all. I think it's the best because it doesn't only use these quick shocking moments, but the horror actually stays there. If anyone knows a scarier game, please let me know!

Lemme just get one thing straight. In the first part, there are NO monsters, and its pretty safe enough to just have a wander. Correct me if I'm wrong, as I admit I'm a pussy.

Also, if you wait long enough here, or in any part of the game for that matter, does the darkness eventually come and kill you?

"Library", I think, it's the second floor, when you go there to find the key to the wine cellar, there's a monster next to the piano, but he goes away before you can even see him right. In the wine cellar appears the monsters far away, you can barely see them, but you must be careful anyway. But I don't think they really hurt. *continues

Then there's the water part, when there's a monster that follows you when you touch the water, but that's not scary, it just make you feel nervous XP Thennn, after the water part appears the real monsters that can really hurt you if you don't hide in the darkness or be fast enough or distract them. *continues

@SupaSausagePoison WATCHOUT, SPOILER PArt3: And yeah, actually Amnesia has 4 endings, and one of them, when you get stuck in jail, if you wait there for more than 10 minutes the darkness get you. So you have to get out of there as soon as possible, but in the rest of the game I don't think it will, unless you step on it, then it will hurt you, just a bit. Of course it grows following you, but it just happens when you go to the next step of the game and you don't need go back anymore. The end. XP

This game is actually easier than Penumbra series. Just let monsters kill yourself a few times and they will disappear, allowing you to move forward untroubled. Also, the final Boss, Alexander, is easiest to defeat ever. Of course, getting to it is a bit challenging though.

This game is the best horror game I ever played and I already played about ~50 different ones in the past 12 years, even some which are only available in Japan (good old import). The game builds up fast, but it won't overwhelm you at the beginning. If it would be 100% scare from beginning on, then you would be used to it. It gets scarier and scarier. I really love it.

Watch the water horror trailer, that's a scene from the end of the first chapter (after ~8% of the game is done).

Hm you could have made it a little more atmospheric I think. Seems like you knew what was going to happen, could've worked in some reactions. Maybe play a little slower, more careful, and maybe tone down the mouse sensitivity, I kind of lost orientation more than once! ;P

And so i threw the hand on the box on the left of the first heavy door tht u get into after using the lever, and then jumped on the other side and used the leg next to lantern oil nd threw in the same place as the hand and rushed like hell to the dam door, nd then was tryin to twist but wont happen cuz was doin the wrong direction. Goddam, did my heartrate goto 150!!! Luckily survivd to end demo!
