  • 4:45 Morrissey gestures that he wants to leave.

  • What an insufferable little git Jools Holland is

  • "Badgerwatch."

He is a grumpy old man.

    But what a joker.

  • Jools did a good job there

  • Great sarcastic sense of humour. Always liked that about Morrisey.

  • On L.A.: "It's a very pleasant place, as long as you don't meet people"

  • This. Is. Amazing.

  • @mazingerZful perhaps, yes. and good on him :)

  • Knock knock...

    Who's there?

    A self righteous twat.

  • Is he still in LA? If so, why? It seems he doesn't like the people or the food and probably not much else. He'd be better off almost anywhere else in the U.S. or the world for that matter.

  • Hate him or love him

  • Jools "well this is flying by". Quite unprofessional, nothings more awkward when you recognise something as awkward. Moz couldn't give a crap though.

  • He's great , so clever.

  • "No Jools, I refuse to open the door"

  • Jools Holland's worst ever interview?

  • @MrBennjjo - difficult to say ..so many bad ones to chose from....

  • I agree with what Morrissey said about not meeting people in LA.. I have lived in LA all of my life.. Trust me.. everyone is a douchebag.. Shame he had to leave to Italy but COMPLETELY understandable. XD

  • Aw, he's so nervous.

  • @xXTempsXx He hasn't actually lived there for some years, unless he recently moved back.

  • A Manchunian enigma machine made from meat :-)

  • I always feel sorry for the few interviewers who get to speak to Morrissey - it's like walking on eggshells. It's not only fools he doesn't suffer gladly, but a large proportion of pretty bright people too.

I guess the guy feels that those few interviews he agrees to do are just a few to many...

  • badgerwatch!

    hah classic

  • Russ Abbot

Still trying hard to hold on to the angst. I guess he feels that if he loses it then he might not be as productive as he was in his youth.

There are many people who appreciate the slate sky and the 'way' people have about them in your home town and many other subtleties and seeming simplicities of life. It is pretentious to state that no one else appreciates these things. This is the kind of comment you expect from a youth in th midst of angst.

  • HAHAHAHA Jools must have known that asking Morrissey a knock knock joke was going to recieve that reaction.

  • 0:15 Moz should have bust out into song with "AND AFTER ALLLLLLL THISSSS TIMMMMME...."

  • 'i was looking for a deal and then i found a deal...'

  • @lifeingreyscale2410 And heaven knows hes miserable now. XD

  • @lifeingreyscale2410 and heaven knows I've got a deal now...

  • Isn't the interviewer the keyboard player from Squeeze?

  • @Evological yes he is, well spotted!

  • I love you morrissey!

  • make way for the new primeminister morrissey all rise

  • Morrissey is so effortlessly cool < 3

  • Aww he was really moved when they all sang happy brithday to him

  • I fucking love Morrissey

  • knock knock? noo jools...(again) knock knock??? I refuse I refuse...lol

  • 3:10 Moz for President! :)

  • he's so handsome... i love Morrissey

  • Genius.

  • Morrissey is great, but he is a bit of a twat.

  • @policemanandrew whats the difference between a twat and a policeman ? (a) id rather be a twat

  • @mefingersoff

Go fuck your dead grandmother you piece of fatherless cunt pus.

  • Is that what you say to a disabled man after you've kicked him out this wheelchair?

  • @spiritmong

    Yes. X

  • Why? Do your think your colleagues were justifiedf in the actions?

Do you think your collegue who killed Ian Tomlinson should face a murder trial?

How about Alfie Meadows, who needed emergency brain surgery after being hit with a Truncheon?

  • @spiritmong

    1. Yes

    2. No

    3. Shouldn'd be rioting should he? Marxist filth.

  • If you weren't happy with the actions of this government or future governments do you think you have the right to express yourself through protoest.

And what evidence do you have that Alfie Meadows was rioting rather than protesting, and that he's a Marxist. Do you know what a Marxist is?

Could you also expand your answer regarding why you think your colleagues were justifed to pull a non-threatening man from his wheel chair?

  • @spiritmong he's trolling dude

  • ha ha dont try to bandy words with morrisey. old morrissey the more he pushes people away the more they want him. entertainer.

  • "i refuse to open the door" such a morrissey answer

  • Yes yes yes.

  • MORRISSEY FOR PRIME MINISTER

  • Can all the insecure losers please fuck off the Morrissey videos? He's not smug, he's not big-headed, he's just great. You wouldn't know though, you suck.

  • he seemed a little annoyed by jools' comment about how long ago it was since they last met

  • 'first of the gang to die?'..cheerful fellow isn't he?

  • "But you're southern, you wouldn't understand". Mancunian legend.

  • Give him the birthday bumps!

  • I love Mozz...

  • Jools: "Knock knock" Morrissey: "What the hell is it now Jools?" Jools: "Is Morrissey a moody boy?" Morrissey: Hotel fire, or M-3 pile up ? Your choise Jools"

  • creepy

  • anyone else insults morrissey and I shall come round your house and instruct your mother that she has unpleasent children. So stop it at once.

  • What's happened to all the characters like him?

  • @captaincomputa became 'celebrities' & are none too bright mate,  cheers (i do realize it was a rhetorical question}

  • What an emo

  • agh christ he's so difficult

  • Morrissey couldn't get a record deal? What the f?

  • i love how he is so difficult.

  • I love Morrisey too

  • Morrissey has got such a massive head

  • god i love morrissey so much!

  • badger watch.

  • omg, what a prick.

  • morrissey for president anyone..?

  • He´s Laurence Olivier in Zulu.-

  • He's a bit sassy in this.

  • What does Jool Holland say just before Morissey says: "I'm not curious"??

  • A Genius. Not many understand him. A lot of what he says nowadays is tongue in cheek. After Bowie and MES the greatest living Englishman

  • Who's MES?

  • Mark E.Smith (the Fall)

  • i love this man...............VIVA MORRISSEY!

  • i love morrissey!

  • what? theres nothin wrong with this interview! where was he being unkind? this interveiw made me laugh and for no other reason than he has a personalty of his own and obviously he has sense of humuor, which you may or may not understand or like, but its perfectly normal for people to carve thier own laungage of expression. humour, tone and other idiosyncracies for want of a better word displays individuality.not everyone is a product this dumbed down society.hooray for difference!!

  • Badger Watch!

  • I thought he said sumthing rude like Vag Wash!!!

  • He isn't shy or nervous! He just isn't a performer - provided he receives good banter and question (which isnt often as people don't know how to respond to him and his humour) he will have a good ole chat, but he won't force enthusiasm to humour the interviewer

  • He is my idol.

  • I can't understand some of these recent comments. This interview painful?? He may or may not have been nervous to begin with but he so takes control of the interview. This was his comeback album who could blame him if he was!!! This interview is hilarious! I've never thought of him as nice, sympathetic or apathetic to my own feelings. Once you get past that you can sit back. There is so much hilarity in what he does! Knock Knock!

  • i like the smiths but morrisey the man is a ballbag , and being nervous or shy is no excuse for being a dick , if he didn't want to be interviewed he shouldn't have gone on the show

  • Okay I'm noticing that I've been getting quit a bit of feedback regarding my comments of how I felt Morrissey doesn't seem to be a kind individual. Maybe I'm wrong and he's just nervous or something, I don't know. I've seen other interviews where he seems slightly more open and kind so he could have been having a bad day here. Anyway that all I have to say people, besides that his music is inspiring and beautiful.

  • @madmethod21 sorry that was meant to be a plus thumb

  • He bloody was nervous!!!!

  • @glooryboy69 yeah it wAS, Stressful for the interviewer

  • The comments about northerness ring true...

  • How so?? What makes Northerners different?

  • Love this guy. He struggled through my 1st concert at the Gibson Amph and finished the show strong. Worth every red cent! BTW 3:56 is that Samuel L. in traditional African garb?

  • i would vote for morrissey if he was running for prime minister.

  • He's a realist , Lovely Guy. Love his view on life.

And of course , his songs are of golden qaulity.

  • Holland is a c***. and an irritating one a that . Really smug, one trick pony..

  • Is it just me, or does Mozz not seem to be a particularly nice person. He's still a great singer/writer though.

  • He's an honest and realistic person. Makes it difficult to be nice.

  • @madmethod21 in this interview he isnt nice or charming. He comes across as patronising and unco-operative in this interview. Maybe he has something against Jools Holland, maybe he just wasnt in a great mood that day.

  • Love morrissey!

  • he says he would like a career in politics when in another interview he says all politicians are terrorists

  • Northerners are instilled with a certain feel for life......... what a load of BULL!

  • no it's true, you wouldn't understand..

  • MORRISSEY FOR PREZ

  • He is funny

  • I have it on good authority that he HAS BEEN a bit unfriendly at some points, but this is only what I've heard and believe me anyway celebrities do get like that, they turn like that over time. He's still a genius.

  • It seems to me that he's actually a quite shy, introverted person... and his dry and kind of aggressive sense of humor is just a way of coping with that. I might be wrong, of course.

  • I agree with this, partly.

I wouldn't say his dry and aggressive sense of humor is a way of COPING with being shy and untroverted - but I do see that side of Morrissey. I think he's just honest. When he says he's going to be embarrased, he means it, but it comes across as dry. and when he says he thinks they should do it, he really does, but also cringes at the thought.

Just throwing my opinion out there :)

  • @gpeddino You know your getting older when your childhood heros look more and more like your father. I feel odd watching him at 40. He looks too much like family.

  • seriously consider that comment? cest stupid! hes probally not being sarcastic u just cant tell. im suprised no one has disagreed with u more on here!

  • I think his love comes across as very cold.

  • Watch his interview with Jonathan Ross.

  • he's actually hideously shy which is why he comes across this way.

  • gary numan is too

  • @heartdownxo I really don't think he is shy. I think he was when he was younger, but i don't think he is anymore.

  • @MrBobbySasquatch You could just tell he didn't wanna be there by his awkwardness and by some of his answers.

  • self righteoussness must be your best quality tellytubbi

  • Manchester is a shithole really, full of chavs and guncrime. Only the dumb ones stay, which is why Ian Brown and Liam Gallagher still live there.

  • I want to kiss him

  • "I miss the kinda things nobody understands why they could be missed. When your northern you're instilled with a certain feel for life that you can't get rid of."

I swear, he reads my mind. This is why I love Morrissey, not to mention his amazing gift in music but even if he wasn't famous, I would still admire him greatly for those words and for thinking that way. It's exactly how I think. I have such a respect for him. I would love to see him live one day.

  • lol o your a real genius

  • Badger Watch! LOL!

  • Oof - Morrissey has a had like mine - BIG

  • yeah! great life in england ..moreover in northern england which is worse! ;)

  • oh manchester so much to answer for !!!

  • "In my life

    why do I smile

at people who I'd much rather kick in the eye."

Back to the video (-: Perhaps these lines were running through his mind as he was dealing with Jules. "Knock, knock." Hahahaha.

  • You're the one wanting him to kiss your arse. I'm quite happy with him being the way he is. As for lyrics, in case you were unaware, some writers and performers actually express their lives via their words (I doubt you'll ever grasp that notion though). Perhaps you ought to take yourself a bit more seriously, then others might--unless, of course, you wish to remain a joke. Now you can have the final word and make yourself feel better.

  • How do you know?

  • know what? & btw why is it that you fell the need to attack me personally ? I just expressed an opinion about fauning fans who hang on his every word, is it just because I believe that not every lyric sang by him is an actual event that has literally happened to him? Honestly , isn`t that just a little far fetched to belive so ? and then feel the need to attack & be sarchastic to anyone who says different ?, not falling about gushing running around like " a hairdresser on fire" ?

  • How can you expect a guy whose written the lyrics he has for years and years to be some smiley, sociable, cuddly fellow who humours everyone's whims?????

  • i really want him to go into politics, realise its not that easy and become just another one of the apologetic messes we see on tele

  • i doubt he's missing our tenners ;)

  • exactly,thats why I dont feel guilty or like a criminal. ;-)

  • When you've lived his life and been through what he's been through (you seem to think it's all been Easy Street), then I'm sure we'll all take you very seriously. After all, what the hell do you know? He's done enough for us all to do the hell what he likes now. Most of us are just little insignificant ants who've never changed much of anything.

  • Well, if you listen very, very carefully to all of the lyrics that he's ever written both Smiths and solo--and you've let us know that you spent your "ill-afforded" money on just about everything-- you should be able to grasp some of what he's gone through. Besides, I was simply indicating that it might be wiser not to judge the actions and attitude of another without having some idea of what it might be to stand in their shoes. I wasn't claiming to have grown up with him!

  • Well P, hes probably just introverted. Google it.

  • So nice to see Jules teetering a little. Nice job by our man.

  • Badger Watch Lol

    Go Morrissey

  • He seems so modest and honest - so different from all the other hollow show-offs in the industry....

I think I ll buy my first Morrissey record now... :-)

  • i love this interview!!!

  • piss of mate, i respect all of them other bands especially stone roses, there one of my favourites.

but what have you got against a unique musical icon, has influenced many a famous bands and singers

  • you could have just not watched the video, but instead you made a stupid comment. i guess you're just stupid.

  • Morrissey has totally come into his own. He's adorable and charming.

  • I would love to be Northern like Morrissey, obviously that is what's missing from my life.

Morrissey is amazing and would do a fine job at running the WHOLE WORLD

    ...xxx

  • You'd love to be northern!!

Why? You got an overwhelming urge to shit outside and walk your whippets down't chippie in in't clogs?

  • so if mancs are northern what a weggies ?

  • 'as long as you don't meet people' very funny guy.

  • Too cool for school

  • leave me alone i was only singing ,leave me alone because i was only singing <3

  • Imagine being stuck in a lift with this bloke, appreciate his honesty but.........

  • The honesty?? Just about everything he says is a dry joke, i dont see honesty here i just see wit

  • aye, it would be murder... a good kind of murder. but still murder.

  • Ha ha you tell him Moz. He can shove his knock knock jokes up his hoop.

  • badger watch ....haha ...moz comic genius :)

  • its a very pleasent place as long as you don't meet people
