  • Give Nez a break. He has rejoined the guys on various occasions but his business interests keep him too pre-occupied to do any touring. That, plus the fact that he's doesn't have the stamina anymore for this sort of thing. He has supported the guys, wished them well so give Reverend Mike a break.

  • @birdradiolive, Nesmith was the one who got the group back together in 1995 for an album (Justus) and a television special he wrote and directed.

  • You notice how there's always one guy in these groups who has to be a cunt and decides he doesn't want to participate? ;-p

  • My friend is the neighbor of Peter Tork and I'm going to meet him soon :D

  • I loved this show and actually got to meet Davey Jones in Missouri at a Country Kitchen believe it or not. He was so gracious and sweet. he was my crush of that time. lol. Still is.

  • Young Mickey Dolenz reminds me of Mark Wahlberg, especially when his hair is down (not curly.)

  • These guys seem so freaking cool...good for them and they deserve EVERY iota of success they get.

  • If you all like the Monkees, try the Kids from C.A.P.E.R. Some of the same people were behind that show too--particularly Don Kirschner. You will notice striking similarities. The only difference is that it was the 70s, and we have yet to see its one season on DVD. Love both shows!

  • Why hasn't anybody commented on Michael Nesmith? After all, he IS the "stuck up" one who thinks he's too good for The Monkees post-tv show.

I went to The GoodTime Theater at Knott's Berry Farm in 1975 to see what were billed as The Monkees. Turns out it was Davy, Peter, & Boyce & Hart!.

Mickey couldn't make it but Mike,.....he just deserted the group! And that's the truth!

  • @birdradiolive Yup, Mike cut off his nose to spite his face !

  • I loved "The Monkees" tv show when I was a kid. They played marathons of it on Nick at Nite and I would stay up late and try not to laugh too loud at their goofy antics. They'll always hold a special place in my memories.

  • rockin ed. don't feel bad though, i would walk across the street to see you either.

    Peace!

  • so....the drummer has down's syndrome or what?

  • @scpttybpyo8 no he does not but he does have a step sister who is.

  • one of my favs ever, thanks to nick at nite...1987!

    they had some GREAT songs.

and they didnt play or write MOST of their songs...i never cared.

    i will love them forever!!

  • this is too cool.

  • Why does Davy look like he's wearing a neck brace?

  • Unless NESMITH is with them I wouldn't go across the street to see them!!!!

  • @RockinEd Have you SEEN Nesmith lately? LOL....

  • @Jimmythepin This weekend I was looking up some Monkees videos. I saw a current video of Mike and was beyond shocked! What the hell? He looks *nothing* like he ever did, and in fact looks like a terribly old man. Have you seen him? With the age spots all over his head? I'm not exaggerating. I'm actually disturbed by how bad Nesmith looks now.

  • I personally think they should not do tours.

I prefer to remember them as they once were.

Its just not the same seeing them now.

  • @Nuron666

I quite agree with you but maybe they need money ! - especially Davy who's a newly wed

  • @missconcorde your right its probably about the money

  • Damn 45 years?....where did the time go?

  • cool

  • after all these years they guys are still AWESOME, I loved them then and at age 59 they are still H-O-T to me...thanks for posting..hugssss, Rita~

  • when they are sitting down, the one in the middle looks like Tim Allen from a distance...what the..

  • I'm a big fan of the Beatles, but they were like the dad who was rarely around or accessible. The Monkees were. You could count on them every week. As kid with few or no friends, The Monkees were like 4 big buddies to me. They were cool, funny, goofy and they sang cool songs. I hardly saw the Beatles. I'd like to have all four of them in front of me so I could thank them personally for their entertainment.

  • Poor Davy looks like his neck is stiff. I know these guys are pushing 70, but I hope his condition isn't permanent.

  • @TrekToons

Davy was a jockey for a while (even after The Monkees), which means he`s hit the ground quite a few times, I`m sure. No telling what kind of injuries he had (I know he broke an arm or leg once in an accident). Going by that, he could be worse off. :) Besides, when I saw him here where I live, he did the whole "Daddy`s Song" dance routine! I`d say he`s doing pretty well for his age! :)

  • @MrGlassoniongirl You know, I heard about him being a jockey. I wish I could have seen them live. I'm glad Davy was able to dance. Thanks!

  • @TrekToons I wish I could have seen one of his races in person, or at least that there were more pics (I`ve only found 3). Love cute jockeys, LOL

The show was fantastic, because of the set up of the concert area (outdoors with a stage and one small "golden ticket" area), I was able to get fairly close. :D There`s vids other people have taken from the concert up on here too. ;)

Me too, shows he still in fairly good shape! :)

  • I have the 'More Of The Monkees' CD-they were fed some incredible songs and sang them well,Nesmith wrote/produced 2 great songs himself.

    Robert Nix Rock/Pop Artist

  • i saw them at california adventure park in anaheim in 2002. i was 8 yrs old. it was my first concert ever. i knew every single song. it was incredible.

  • Daydream Believer is still very catchy. And that Davy Jones must be part immortal because he hasn't aged as much considering it's almost 50 years past their prime.

  • I seen them live on June 12th at Niagara FallsView Casino/Resort (my papà wanted to take me) At first I was thinking well they're not from my era and I might not like it Even though I did know a few of their songs....

But was I WRONG the concert was not boring....it was AMAZING!! Definitely I would go see them again =)

  • Crapp I wish I can go to 1 of their performances!!! I could one of the younger ones there at age 14!!!! :(

  • Watched them in the 60's, raised my kids on them in the 80's, went to the 80's reunion tour in Binghamton, NY, and my grandson (10) loves the TV show here in the 21st century! Three generations in my family alone might be in Albany on September 9th!

  • @loriksolak went to see them in the 80s as well and it was amazing how good they were live.

  • no sound?

  • A lot of people are mad at Mike for not joining them. They all still get along. What these 3 guys are doing is what's unusual. still touring after 45 years is serious business. Out of all the guys, Mike always enjoyed touring - the Least. He doesn't do solo tours either. And, he never said never, by the way. He just declines certain ones.

  • I saw them back when they first reunited in the 80s

One word to describes these follows, Entertainers

  • These guys are awesome, all talented and still looking good. Thanks for still performing ! I would buy a ticket toyour concert in 2011

  • I was watching in the 60's and I still love 'em today!

  • I'm seeing them tomorrow in Milwaukee. I'm 15 years old I'm sort of expecting to be the youngest fan there. Lookin forward to it.

  • Had a crush on all of them back in the '60s. They turned out to be quite the band. Still love listening to their music.

  • lester must have cancer he looks bad

  • I saw them at the Greek in LA and they were great!

  • I really deeply miss mike, and john lennon and the awsome genertiob of the 60s and 70s. Man, time flies, and we are here today and tomorrow gone! Good tging we can relive these groovy stuff from back then, times I missed for being born in the 90s. Ugh. Lol

  • Good times watching the Tv show back in the day. I recently saw them live in Saratoga and they were AMAZING!

  • Saw them in Vancouver tonight - they still got it!

  • dose any one know if they done any of the songs from pool it or justus?

  • @thereelmaster - No songs from Justus unfortunately unless you count Circle Sky but that was a re-do on Justus. Maybe for the 50th? :-)

  • @zippywoo2 what about pool it? the one from 1986.

  • Davy may be getting older but he's still my favorite Monkee! He might be small but like Elmo, he has a big heart!

  • babessquid, first of all DICK! I like Mike the best out of the Monkees, he is most talented and a great song writer. He always says he has projects going on which is fine but he can't take a couple months away from his projects to tour with the other guys? How many 45th Anniversaries come along?

  • @stevenj8810 on the contrary, you're the dick here!

the reason he didnt join them is because he's been really busy latley, he produces movies now, mickey even said in a different interview that mike tells them that he'd love to be with them but he's got alot on his plate right now.. So Chill! :-P

  • I love these guys and their music! Got tickets to three shows and can't wait. I'm sooo in love with Micky, he's smokin' hot!

  • Do we really need all Monkees interviews to rehash the story as if no one knows who they are? Just get to the current questions.

  • @knownote I agree with you. But unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there who don't know who they are, especially young people.

  • Brothers. That's about right.

  • Hey, thanks for uploading this, so I can send it to my music pals. Micky has used another analogy recently, comparing the M's to "Glee". I will be seeing them in concert twice in July, and look forward to seeing my boys! :)

  • No real revelations news-wise in this clip, but the fact that they were on the show is great, nonetheless. Love it!

  • Lovely! Thank you for sharing this with us :)

  • 0:34 Burt Mustin seemed to play every "elderly man" role on TV back then.

  • I laughed at how he's blaming Mike for haven said it...

  • i love Micky, but the "Pinocchio" analogy is really getting old! LOL

  • @monkeeluvr415 At least he didn't use the Leonard Nemoy one this time. lol

  • @LoveLennon28 I know, right?! THAT was getting old! Glad these guys are still around...LOVE them!
