  • i am from Hyderabad...

and we call it Khoorma not kurma

and it doesnt look like the one in your video -_-

But atleast your benefiting alot of people who are unaware of the real taste :)

    good luck

  • Well 9985017708 Im from Virginia, and liver and onions might not look the same here as is does in lets say Arkansas, but its still liver and onions........get over yourself.....hes trying to be informative.

  • Comment removed

  • What he means in general in South India it is called Kurma and not Khoorma as you mention. The Chef is right here. Since Hyderabad (the name of the city itself) has a lot of Moghul influence it might be called in its original name.....

  • hi sanjay. nice recepie but try mentioning the quantity of inredients used.

  • GREAT DISH

I kinda made it like this before, but didnt use all the spices and used coconut cream instead of yoghurt...but Im gonna try this, looks delicious :)

  • I have been watching this chap's videos and I'm finding them informative and enjoyable. Some of the idiosyncrasies and rough editing actually give the clips more appeal, added to the fact that he's obviously a talented cook and passionate about making these dishes. The warning about drug testing in this clip made me laugh out loud!

  • "looks pretty much, little bit same..." This guy is awesome.

I like the poppyseed warning. LOL.

  • I'm trying to make this right now with my home made curd that vah chef taught me also! I have already made 5 different indian dishes/deserts this week!! Thank you Sanjay!

But I have a question... I tried to make the coconut & cashew paste, but it didn't turn out milky like vah chef's. It was very clumpy and dry... did he add anything?

  • My coconut & cashew paste came out dry as well, and I even used freshly grated coconut, and not the dry stuff. Then added the coconut juice, and it was still not as pasty. Then I added coconut milk from the can...

Taste was ok, but not as exciting as the butter chicken recipe.

  • This guy kicks ass

  • fantastic recipe I followed exactly and it came out perfect my friends went crazy about it

    Thank you

  • RING DING DINGY BOM! changed variation little bit. CURRY LEAVES

  • hehehe.... "pretty much little bit same"

    good recipe tho.

  • this video is hella funny

  • Did he say that curd is beaten yogurt? This looks fantastic and I'm eager to try it.

  • ye curd is yoghurt

  • One of my friends brought me this Chicken dish and she said there was grated coconut in it, I kept searching the internet for chicken curry, and couldn't find anything. Now I found the recipe... What a lovely recipe, what lovely culture and people.... Thank you Mr. Thumma, you are beyond super.

  • why is there a bolt of lightning under the painting at 6:30??

  • It's actually just a camera flash, the reflection off the glass and the steel ware in the back only LOOKS like a lightening bolt.

  • I thought that he was about to return back to the future!

  • That would be a "flash." HA HA. ;o)

  • yeah, what was that? look at the clip between 6.29 and 6.30....

  • hey i think someone clicked a picture. The sound tells such.

  • Comment removed

  • is coriander leaves the same as cilantro?

  • Yep

  • HETLIR:

Yes, coriander leaves are the same as cilantro.

  • i cook my korma / kurma in a similar way and its fantastic, go for it!

  • Your a great cook! I have tried making korma and kurma twice and failed!

  • yummm

  • i usually just buy diffrent curry sauces and pour them on my chicken and rice but i think im gonna try and make some of these recipes myself... great videos!!!

  • @snowbiker111 store bought ones are never fresh so it can never taste the same...always use fresh ingredients if u want that authentic flavour :)

  • Looks and sounds great, like so many of your recipes !! I have 2 questions for you;

    1) If you don't have the real cocount, what is better, dried coconot grind or coconut milk?

    2) Do you make the garlic ginger paste, or is this for sale in a store? (never seen it here)

Thanks for learning me to be a great cook :-)))

  • Which one is best? Chicken Kurma or Butter Chicken?

  • Butter chicken!

  • I have yet to try this dish but if you have something negative to say, there are better ways to go about saying it than to resort to childish name calling.

  • curd is yogurt..

  • I prepared it and my husband loved it very much, i love all your dishes and i am never scared to try any as i trust your cooking

  • i love his cooking but i don't have the ingredients

  • Warya89,

just google for "Indian groceries" and your zip code and you find an Indian grocery store near you. Then go there with a prepared list of ingredients and ask the help of the indian store person there. He/she would help pick all the ingredients you need.

  • What a legend!!!!

  • its delicious,if you can vah chef i need the recipe for mirchi ka salan[the hyderabadi style]thankyou......almas48

  • what is curd? thanx
