It is well known that Charles Whitman had a brain tumor, and this brain tumor is what caused his violent behavior. This man was a victim not of 'evil' but of madness caused by a medical treatment. While there are many evil and horrid things out there.. this man deserves pity more than hate.

@musiclover3928 good comment, i also think it has to do with the point that the u.s. can portray it's views upon you like it's unwritten law. there are many places in america where being a non christian is frowned upon, and there are still many states where homosexuality is illegal. many of these suspects were bullied without mercy their whole lives, and that can have terrible effects on the psyche, i still blame the shooters 100 percent though, this is no way to fix a problem, no excuses.

The problem with all of it is the government’s influence on people’s lives. If the government had no real effect on the average citizen, we would not care so much about our neighbor’s political views or lifestyle.

However, I think they should be locked up for the rest of their lives away from civilized society. I don't think they should have Internet access, TV privileges, etc. Education & exercise & food yes...but they should only have the barest minimum essentials.
It's terrible when tragedies like this magnitude occur. I think we need to remember this that some people are just born without a conscience-meaning they cannot transcend the mundane in life like normal people can. Having a conscience is such a great privilege that encompasses having an imagination, brilliance & creativity. It helps us meld together God-human being together as one.
