@TenouHaruka0 I don't have kids, neither did my vet. He said that my cat was not sick, and the frequent sneezing had something to do with his breed (British shorthair) that had a flat face and short nasal passages.
You also indicated that the cat kept sneezing...again, a sign of a medical problem. Your cat needed to see a vet.It appears to have an upper respiratory infection! Glad you are no longer taking videos of this poor cat. Please take it to the vet, it is NOT crying, it is ill.
@Litlsisrides I no longer put clothes on him because he was upset with it (either he didn't like clothing or was allegeric to the fabric). He still sneezes a lot, the vet says that it is something to do with his breed (British shorthair) - having a flat face and short nasal passages.
@quickmantan My cat would forget how to walk in a sweater LOL. Few people believe that it cried, most think that it had an infection or I'd been maltreating it.
@joanneloong hahaha tell me about it.. he is sooo nice when he is wearing a jumper , strange haha although my cat doesnt cry, my mum thinks he does look sad when he has the jumper on.. but It makes him really good and comes whenever you call him.. so I like it hahah
@MultiMatt143 Yep, no more sweaters for my cat. He always acts like a baby. He cried because he was upset - I guess the sweater confined his movement somehow.
Voting down, not because the cat is crying (he probably has an irritant,) but because you think that that an animal that is already covered in fur, and is chubby at that, needs a sweater.
Fine, but that's what I could think of doing when I found my cat sneezed a lot, and the flat was freezing. I couldn't leave the heater on when we were out for work, it was simply dangerous.
im sure you take great care of him but just a friendly reminder, (i know u havn't made him wear it since) but cats won't need sweaters. dey got winter coats for that lol =D. i can understand one on a small short haired dog tho. We make our Yorkie wear one. He doesnt mind and he doesnt shiver outside either =D
My other cat (a Scottish fold) which was made to wear the sweater too did not cry though. So I thought that this British short hair cried to show that it was upset with the sweater - it always acts like a spoiled child. Anyway, no more sweaters after that time :)
Thank you for your kind reminder. I knew that the sweater didin't look good (but that was the best I could get from the pet shops nearby) and made my cat feel that its movement was confined somehow.
@joanneloong Huh thats strange lol maybe it was that he just didn't like the sweater =P and yea i think they don't like them because its kinda harder for them to move. =) have fun with your cats, they one of a kind =D. Like me and good old Smokey here lol =).
@joanneloong lol no got another Cat Julias, Smokey, Flash (he a basset hound, and Dallas (the yorkie). We had a robo hamster but he died Yesterday. He was 1 year over how long he was estimated to live so i kinda saw it coming. We probably gonna get a little rabbit to replace him. tamed one of course otherwise we could just go into our backyard.
when cats have eye gunk, especially Maine Coon, and other cats like that breed, the owner/owners should clean it off or it will dry up within a few hours and could cause the cat to have an eye infection.
It looks like a common thing with cats. When a bit of wind blows in their eyes they 'cry'. It's called 'cold in the eye' but it looks like he's got it in both. It's not really anything to worry about. It's just like when we go out in the wind, our eyes tear up.
When we took off the sweater, he no longer cried. So he might be allergic to the fabric, but we do sometimes wear sweaters ourselves and he doesn't shed tears when we hold him...
I'm sorry but cats don't need sweaters, they have fur... :o/ It's also very uncomfortable for them to wear something like that and you can clearly see that he's not liking it.
No worries. We do clean his eyes (whenever there is eye dirt, sometimes a few times a day as British shorthair's eyes get dirty easily) and take good care of him.
nah, it doesn't seem tight at all - you know when you wear turtlenecks? they look tight but there not actually near being tight. Yeah, that's probably how it was
No no no...Cats do have tear ducts! Vets say that some cats' tear ducts are susceptible to blockage and may need medication/ surgery to tackle the problem...
Well then I hope you never put another sweater on her ever again! Why torture the poor thing??!! Rather than getting your kicks by emotionally abusing her, you should give her to someone else who will love her and keep her happy!
He probably kept sneezing because of the dry air from your heater or something. Or maybe because of the change in climate in general. Humans do that. Just a guesstimate.
In animals, it is virtually impossible to tell if their tears are the result of emotions or merely caused by eye irritation. Most scientists agree, however, that humans are the only animals who produce emotional tears. Is the sweater tight around his neck?
I hope your cat has seen a vet since you shoot the video because the tears don't mean he is crying, it indicates something's wrong, that he's ill, animals don't cry like we do. And cats must not be made to wear clothes they need to rub the furnitures and the people it helps them feel secure and at home, it enables them to leave their smell on things and mark their territory.
