I noticed from your video you have to turn the wheel quite far before the car moves, I had the same problem and just solved it. Right click OutRunners in MAME -> Properties -> controllers and where it says 'joystick deadzone' turn it down. For me, putting it at zero makes the game not start, but 0.05 works fine. Enjoy more accurate controls!
@DSDMovies Yeah I keep getting messages about the deadzone for my wheel. I have it adjusted already, I have had mame for a long time but my wheel just only works so well. Thanks for trying to help out!!!! I also have a mame arcade cab running gameex front end.
People do the confusion: the Mame version is... a Mame version ! NOT the arcade. Mame reproduces the arcade hardware, but it is not the same as the arcade version. There are a few differences or glitches in game with the Mame version. The real arcade version is by far the best, ever.

i in no way implied that this is the arcade machine for outrunners. the title says "arcade version" the "real deal" is always the best so i agree with you there.
if people cant tell the arcade machine from a pc set up running mame honestly thats not my fault. this video was just made to show how i play driving games on mame nothing more. i like games thats all and when people dont have nice things to say, why should i be nice?

i could easily hook up the wheel and pedals to my mame arcade cab. and it would be a 27" arcade monitor so it would be a little closer to actually playing the arcade machine but unfortunately my machine is not working at this time
Well I don't know how much you consider that steering wheel and PC monitor to be arcade style. But I personally use either a Hori or a Microsoft Sidewinder going out to a 27" TV via s-video.
