Spring 3 really is great, but there is no reason that precludes you from using JSF2 instead of Wicket. I used to be an ASP.NET developer and like the familiarity and similarities that exist in JSF 2. I can design and develop a killer presentation level as fast and as nice as Wicket. Marrying the two was easy. I will have to look at MongoDB + MySQL though. I can see how that helps with scaling.
