Simon was clearly awestruck, perhaps thinking back to her original audition on AI, and how far she has come. She really "wowed" the audience. Loved it!!!

No, he was appalled at how absolutely ridiculous the performance was. If you've watched even one episode of Idol, then you can recognize when Simon doesn't like a song. I believe the look he gave could be summed up in one of his classic lines: "What. the hell. was that."

The entire audience liked it. Everybody's smiling, applauding and were on their feet. Everybody's so alive. This must be good, come on. She brought the house down! Loved it!

No, James Brown screeched when he needed to, and even when he did, it was an 'in tune' screech. Fantasia uses her screaming to hide the fact that she can't sing well.

One can still watch something and be critical of it, and I feel it's a service to others to tell them of how absolutely horrid she is. She is by far the worst Idol winner. There are also more talented people in the top 6 of each season.

As someone who loves Fantasia......I am completely disappointed in this performance. She did nothing but YELL like a crazy person....in addition to looking like Ronald McDonald. Come on black women......how can we expect people to take us SERIOUSLI if we are gonna present ourselves in that fashion. Even in the entertainment industry that's too much playing!!!

Fantasia won Idol because she was the best, the most talented, the most polished performer of the season. She is a great performer with a blessed voice and the ability to command the stage. This may not have been your 'type' of performance but it was definitely interesting and exciting to watch...unlike many an idol winner.

I agree 100% with you. I think what caught everyone off guard was that it was a song that we didn't know. It was on her second album but not released as a single so only people who owned the album knew the song. It was entertaining though I will say that but not a pure Fantasia performance that we normally see. But others here who want to hate on her thats just mean to talk about someone like that. Fantasia to me is the only Idol winner to keep me one my exited, while all the others bore me

Yes, it was an album cut and I played it again and again back in 06/07. lol. I'm surprised they didnt pick 'When I See U' but who knows what went into this; maybe they wanted the excitement for a change.

I totally agree. Can't believe many people are too negative about this. This is the best performance ever on that stage. Everybody's smiling, clapping their hands. She brought so much life to the show. This is totally awesome. I dont think Simon didn't like it. He was blown away, that's the meaning of the look on his face. He was amazed in a good way.
