@imaguy I love all 311 albums but mine is transistor. More boom for your buck ya know lol. I also love how heavy they really are. I think this track and freeze time are good examples of that. Sound system is their darkest album though. Sever, flowing, you name it.
They play a minor 3rd on the chorus rather than a major 3rd...they obviously decided to change it for the final take and I agree with them. Doesn't work with a minor 3rd...I understand what they were going for but you gotta go with what sounds best.
The vocals are so good! I think SS is their best album...the guitar solos, riffs, the raps and lyrics...all the songs are worth listening to. Livin' and Rockin' I'd say is the only weak one which sux because it's the last song, but still good cd.
tim was still using his 7 string on this. the only difference is that he plays a G instead of the Ab in the chorus. it's sounds jarring at first but the more i listen to it the more i like it
I heard tim use a different note during the mindspin line that is more flat noting but he changed it for the album and it sounds better. I love the beginning, it was very heavy. I love soundsystem cause it feels like they combined the blue album and Transistor and mixed it up in a pot and bam soundsystem was born
Love this version of it, and yes I agree, I think Tim wasn't using his 7 string. But that difference in key is f-ing amazing. True that, I will never listen to this song the same again1
oh man.. i'm a very large fan of this song.. mostly based on the outro. That difference in key of the guitar at the chorus blows my mind.. i'm likely never to listen to this song the same again.
wow. very interesting the guitar in the pre-chorus sure sounds different. but it sounds like they are using the same vocal tracks and the same synthesizer thing in the outro.
i actually kind of like the minor third in the chorus...it makes the switch to the major third sound a lot more drastic :)

yeah thats why its a demo. they probably originally wanted it like this until their producer/label told them to change it.
