Hey would you recomend this pedal as a slightly distorted booster? I would also use it as a stand-alone distortion a little too, but what I'm really interested in is how it works as a dirty booster.
for the 1st question i think you could put your amp on clean and have the pedal on for distortion, and then step on it to turn it off and im pretty sure that will cahnge it back to clean immediately
lol to bad for us almost no one has tried such thing. i got a reply from some dude and he says the DS-1 is a pretty awesome booster, says it gives you TONS of sustain!!
ye im looking for a mid, gain boost for lead but there is never enough sustain when playing guitar eh? i just bought the mrx 10 band eq...:S i think im gonna bring it back(tomorrow)for a ds-1 and a dd-6 delay sound sick in that vid with johnny demarko or whatever his name is
The Ratt Distortion has more of a searing ear shredding tone if you want a Nirvana type sound, Curt was known for using as little as possible to achieve his sounds so I would say a highly saturated distortion pedal such as Digitech's Grunge pedal would suffice at getting the grit and grind in his sound and perhaps a Dan Electro chorus pedal...Dan Electro pedals are really cheap pedals but they have wicked sound.
How many watts is you amp ?
