as an american i sometimes wonder..... why did we take touge racing and turn it into a show event that doesnt actually involve racing. or the touge. i do like the 240 though
i just dont get one thing: when you have a car for example like that 240 and you push the pedal to the end almost everytime you turn, how does the engine survive? dont you have to change most of it after half a year or even one season? i understand that things like tires are being changed oftenly but i cant understand what happens with performance. or is it just immune to high rpms because its made for sports or sth?

@boostedpsi99 look at nearly any class of racing ever, rwd or awd are always better then fwd. Fwd is never the best track car because they are generally much slower and are much less fun.
@yliaDenaLtsaF All drive trains have their advantages and disadvantages...FWD will experience under steer if to much acceleration is applied to early but are easier to handle in most conditions...as for AWD and RWD they have there pros and cons also...but all they are tweekable...

But an FF is good for cornering. and never underestimate an FF like most people. They are capable of high top speeds. Keeping up with AWD and FR drivetrains. @GenjiSama91 sounds like a sr20det to me. Too common a swap people should try more of 1jz's 2jz's vg30's 7mgte's and so on into a 240sx. Too many people swap ka's for sr's or rb's or ls's now. For me i'd rather build up a KA and use it but thats cause i wanna stay legal. 1jz's, sr20's, and rb's are illegal in the states. I heard there were a few manufactured us-spec 1jz's but they are probably more expensive than the jdm-spec 1jz's

@GenjiSama91 well when i get into drifting i'm going to also use the car as a dd so passing emissions with a us-spec engine would be easier than jdm-spec. I'm not a fan of the 7m either but i heard it is a pretty decent swap. around 230hp while 1jz is 280hp. I'd do 1jz over 2jz cause of the costs. And i mean stay legal cause in the states, if the thing isn't imported by manufacturer (as in made as a model and offered) it's illegal. Even with the hood down some cops got smart. Sound whores now.

@mydogzty because a 180sx is a 240sx in japan. the only difference is 180sx's have ca18det engine, not ka24de, and 180sx's are right hand drive. Same thing with 200sx's, but in Europe.
@MrCba333 the earlier s13's had a CA18, and everything after that had SR. How is that wrong? Therefore, until it used the SR, it's name didn't correspond with it's engine size.

@GenjiSama91 sounds like a sr20det to me. Too common a swap people should try more of 1jz's 2jz's vg30's 7mgte's and so on into a 240sx. Too many people swap ka's for sr's or rb's or ls's now. For me i'd rather build up a KA and use it but thats cause i wanna stay legal. 1jz's, sr20's, and rb's are illegal in the states. I heard there were a few manufactured us-spec 1jz's but they are probably more expensive than the jdm-spec 1jz's

@GenjiSama91 well when i get into drifting i'm going to also use the car as a dd so passing emissions with a us-spec engine would be easier than jdm-spec. I'm not a fan of the 7m either but i heard it is a pretty decent swap. around 230hp while 1jz is 280hp. I'd do 1jz over 2jz cause of the costs. And i mean stay legal cause in the states, if the thing isn't imported by manufacturer (as in made as a model and offered) it's illegal. Even with the hood down some cops got smart. Sound whores now.

@SuperAnimekid It's not called a Swedish feint, it's called Scandnavian flick, and you're not drifting, you're powersliding. A drift is a control of loss of traction through counter/oversteer and throttle, not throwing left then right and sliding a little bit. FWD is fail wheel drive.

@mydogzty because a 180sx is a 240sx in japan. the only difference is 180sx's have ca18det engine, not ka24de, and 180sx's are right hand drive. Same thing with 200sx's, but in Europe.
