  • I was thinking about getting this but I went with the Toshiba Canvio 1TB instead. Advantages I saw was it didn't need external power source it ran straight from USB power. It's 2.5" so it had small form factor very portable can fit in front pocket of your shirt meaning also very light and portable and also runs on USB 3.0

  • Any idea how to open up the drive? As on take out the actual HDD from the enclosure? Please help!

  • PLEASE ANSWER ASAP

Do you have to plug this in to a power socket every time u want to use it?

ILL SUBSCRIBE TO ANYONE WHO ANSWERS THIS BEFORE TOMORROW

  • @AnimeXeta i leave my power cord plugged in. The drive powers up automatically when i start my computer and powers down when I shut down.

  • yes you do.

  • is it portable?

  • to use usb3 i need just to plug it to usb3 in my pc?

  • Can the ps3 see this devices?

  • @Brammie119 probably not

idk if ps3 is run like an xbox but an 360 can only recognize usb drives that are 16 gigs or less and i would image a ps3 is the same way

  • will this work on windows xp

  • @MrHotrod68 yes

  • are you in the Italian mob?

  • is this wd 2tb my book essential is better than the wd 2tb elements?

  • @Lubuking101 i don't know. I don't own a 2tb elements but this one has been working out great for me. you can look up the specs and compare them on Western Digital web site.

  • @Lubuking101 Yes, it is better. It offers faster speeds and USB connections, as well as several security features that are not offered with the Elements drives.
