Hey Ton men, gotta rather silly question for you, it all works like a charm but... I can't edit it in WYSIWYG - I do see the proper vie and the source although I can't even say what file's source I see exactly at the moment so I was wondering if could tell me how to edit in WYSIWYG?
I hav a big question ???, when i change the page at dreamweaver it do not aply and not work for my selected theme the at .../wp-content/themes/anytheme
like if im use mytheme as default and change it do not make effect at .../wp-content/themes/mytheme help !!!
I have just donwloaded a wordpress theme, from the wordpress website. I was wondering how do I import all the nessessary files from my wordpress theme into Dreamweaver ? So that way im able to import all the files in one go, rather than import each individual file.

Geoff: I don't think an upgrade DVD is the right idea. Better that you simply give previous purchasers some substantial discount (i.e., 50% with perhaps an extra 10% if they give you a video testimonial and agree to allow you to use that testimonial).
@sidponc: Ahhh, you're too kind!!! And you're right, they're sooo damn boring. Great to hear you were able to get up and running with DW! Best of luck!!! -Geoff
Using for 2 days now I get a anoying thing with The served thing, cuz u can't use more than one staging server at time and the switch isnt slow, in fact I have 2 staging servers, one local network and other online, and i have to switch to upload... When I think that a dialog box asking for what server to upload will be more efective. Well what u think any way to work arround?
@ooredroxoo: Well, I'd have to take a closer look, but I do recall having the same issues as you. Having a method for choosing which server to use would be awesome. In fact, I had DWCS5 completely wipe out a design I was working on and I had to rebuild from scratch...all because I couldn't specify the server. Very, very frustrating...
That's awesome! After I was just doggin' Dreamweaver a bit. Ha! Well, this changes the game a bit. Though it seems a bit rough how it brings the files in? No folders/structure? Not sure how else they could do it. Still, awesome.
@anthonykrese: Haha! Yeah it's pretty cool, although just yesterday I was putting it to task working on a custom WordPress theme and accidentally wiped out index.php and sidebar.php (taking out about 5 hours of design/coding work along with it). Luckily I was able to recover, but it has me realizing that as powerful as these new features are, they can be quite deadly if you're not careful!
Having used it on a real project, my assessment at this point is, it's really good, but yeah a bit rough.
I use more for coding, I'm not a developer only, I like to much to make things with raw css instead of use the WYSIWYG. Sure the dreamweaver has a lot of new features, but from a webstandard base I'm not a fan to use WYSIWYG cuz they add a lot of junk in my code, stranges class names like style1, that don't mean anything, and are slow compared to type the code by hand, one of the things I like the dreamweaver is the code hinting, and now they not only bring custom php but cms and multiserver too
@ooredroxoo: You make some good points. Everybody has their own tools and preferred methods, so I say, if you're fine coding and bypassing the whole DW / WYSIWYG interface, I say go for it -- it definitely is a lot faster. That said, I still use DW quite a bit for troubleshooting different aspects of an overall design. Cheers! -Geoff
@ooredroxoo For a long time I avoided Dreamweaver for the same reasons you quoted above but after trying it out again it seems they've really cleaned it up and the live view and code hinting are indispensable. I've used Eclipse PDT, NetBeans and numerous other PHP IDEs but after coming back to Dreamweaver I can say for sure nothing comes close to the level of refinement and features it has. The WYSIWYG editor is just there - it doesn't have to be used. It actually is of some uses sometimes.
Anyone knows where I can get the trial or pre-release to test, cuz look amazing, but I can't use right know, I can't test, and I can't do anything, I'm thinking if anyone that alread make the pre-order already have test... cuz I have to say, since dreamweaver 8 I don't see any motives to upgrade until now, but I wanna test to see how this work.
@ooredroxoo: I believe the demo version will become available once the software begins shipping on April 30th. It's well worth checking out. But truthfully, it all depends on what you're using it for and what you want to do. I do a lot of web design stuff (obviously) so it's worth it to me. However, I could easily use a much earlier version of Photoshop, for example, for the kind of work I do...
