Loads of people probably disagree with my opinion and that's fine, but I just think it's unfair and unnecessary - she doesn't NEED her ears pierced and she's not old enough to agree to it either - shouldn't it be a person's own choice whether they have their ears pierced or not? Why not just wait until the child actually WANTS their ears pierced? I know that if my mom suddenly popped up and forced me to get my ears pierced then I'd certainly be pretty pissed off.

I admire what the parents have done, my parents got my ears pierced for me when i was 8 weeks old. I cant remember the pain and didn't have to get them later in life when I could say no, ive seen a few videos of kids wimping out. Im almost 18 and have only just plucked up the courage to get my second lobes done.

Sure, they cry, but babies always cry, and they just got metal shot through their ears, of course they'll cry, heck, I got mine re-pierced when I was 11 and I cried. It's painful. A BABY cannot ask for their ears to be pierced and it shouldn't be up to a parent to decide that a child wants them done. I had mine done when i was 4 and I didn't cry, I don't really remember it and they were never infected.
It isn't necessary for a baby to have earrings so they shouldn't be put through unnecessary pain of having them.

Babies just don't handle any discomfort well. It doesn't hurt that bad. I have to re-pierce mine constantly with needles cus they close up. It's just a tiny pinch that goes away after a minute. Babies just go into shock

Sure, they cry, but babies always cry, and they just got metal shot through their ears, of course they'll cry, heck, I got mine re-pierced when I was 11 and I cried. It's painful. But it's easier for them to have the pain THEN than when they're 6 and'll touch them and risk infection. and if she doesn't want em, they eventually close up.

Everyone on here is overreacting. I got my ears pierced when I was 8 weeks old. It's not child abuse, it's a piece of metal in a baby's ear. It's not like a tattoo, it's not permanent. And she won't even remember the pain or anything. All she'll see when she's older is a little hole in her ear that she can put pretty earrings in. I mean, I respect everyone's opinion, but nobody has ANY right to judge other people's parenting. So everyone; CALM. DOWN.

For all you people saying it is cruel/disgusting etc, it isn't. She is extremely likely she will want them done when she is older anyway, so it is easier getting it done now. Memories develop from the age of around 2 years onwards, so she will not remember this at all. Also, it will heal faster. Yes, she is crying, but babies cry! Get over yourselves!

Even though that baby is crying, i would still want to get my ears peirced when i was a baby, i waited till i was 10 or 11 and that SUCKED. I got my second holes last friday and im getting my third in a month or two after the second ones heal. I doesnt hurt

1. I had my ears pierced when I was a baby.
2. The only reason why I know this is through pictures, i don't remember a thing about the pain.
3. Though I have a high pain tolerance, I don't think I would have ever got my ears pierced later on in life if I didn't already have them pierced.
4. I will admit its hard watching a baby go through this but its not the end of the world and its not YOUR baby.

A BABY cannot ask for their ears to be pierced and it shouldn't be up to a parent to decide that a child wants them done. I had mine done when i was 4 and I didn't cry, I don't really remember it and they were never infected.
It isn't necessary for a baby to have earrings so they shouldn't be put through unnecessary pain of having them.

I got mine done at this age. While Im happy about it, I dont belive in piercing untill it's the childs choice. Im 15 now and my sisters (3 and 4) asked me if they could get some like mine. After I explained to them naval and cartilage piercings are for older girls and that its hurts a little. They still want them so we are going soon to get them. I want it to be thier choice. I dont like when parents lie sayingit wont hurt at all. Tell them the truth and let them decide for themselves.

Babies just don't handle any discomfort well. It doesn't hurt that bad. I have to re-pierce mine constantly with needles cus they close up. It's just a tiny pinch that goes away after a minute. Babies just go into shock

It's not even a big deal. I don't understand why people get worked up over it. I had mine when I was 3 months, and though i don't wear earrings often, I'm glad my parents had it done. i don't remember any pain and if i go to a party or something, I can wear earrings.
