sliv812 i have just watched a film about Michael Buble and it said that Foster wrote this song especially fro Buble, so i think that might be the 'original'. Unless it was wrong, Natalie cole does do a beautiful version of it though, i just love Michael's version better though. :)

This is an OK version, but nowhere near as good as the original 1989/1990 version by David Foster and Natalie Cole (which you can watch elsewhere here on YouTube). Sorry Clay, but you just can't beat an original.

I really adore this video and its meaning. It's very sad seeing all of this happening in America and how they worry so much about other countries problems instead of fixing our own when we have almost the same thing going on. We're singing this song for a choir and it really has great meaning to it. And just knowing that everyone could help out even if it's a little bit but it still is not happening is very disturbing. Just imagine what are future could be like if we did this...

Reality check. Clay Aiken was not the inspiration for this song. "Grown-Up Christmas List" first appeared back in 1990, on David Foster's album "River of Love". The vocals on that track were by the great Natalie Cole. Amy Grant then released a version on her 1992 holiday album that made the tune popular. No offense to Clay, but the original by Natalie Cole/David Foster is way better. Look up the video on YouTube if you can. Well worth it.

Not a big Amy Grant fan, but I'm sure that Natalie Cole was AMAZING!!!

Just wanted to say that Clay was not the inspiration for this song (he would have been about 12 years old when it was written) nor was that ever my intent (and most people probably figured that out). I meant to say that the MONTAGE was inspired by Clay Aiken (I will now edit the information on this montage so that is clear to everyone).
