I truly do agree with most of the points made in this video, especially the end where you say the point is to educate all who listen that hating one’s self and ones race is wrong. That we should show accolades to those who are doing well versus show hatred or spew blasphemy. I would like to point out that Willie Lynch may have developed the plan to control slaves but the mean spiritedness was there before we ever came to this land.

Great video. I do not believe today's mentality completely transcends from the brutality of slavery. Today, whites still have the majority of the money and hence forth, the power and influence. The inability of blacks to break through the wealth ceiling that many whites and Jews have broken through, has perpetuated feelings of inferiority. This has lead blacks to prize white features (staight hair and light skin) and has created dissension as blacks struggle to identify with money and power.

When I hear this, when I am reminded of this, in a raw way, a good degree of separatism begins to sound like a good idea. Deep psychological wounds apparently cannot be healed within the black community from outside of the black community. No hatred, no government beaurocratic bs, but respect is the order of the day. Maybe in the future, freedom loving groups of people can come to the table and reason together. However, no false peace, no fake solidarity when sickness is just beneath.
Self-determination is the opposite of the slave mentality. I agree with a lot of the historical context that you bring up, but truly black people in America today have self-determination. The "slave mentality" today is exemplified by young black men who put themselves back into the slave shackles (prison), and when they get out recidivism back into the prison system over and over again. Until their mentality makes education & success more comfortable to them than shackles the cycle repeats.

Adapting to our environment to be accepted by whites Sounds like assimilation to me. Everything stems from slavery, because it is the only concrete beginning of the African American community. This is a name that was imposed on us by Europeans, but it is the word that most African Americans or Nubians born in America and Africa identify themselves with. I think that the way to get past the "slave mentality" (which does exist) is to GET PAST it which some of have and cooperate with each other. This video was for those who understood it.

@SaySay208 One thing you are incorrect about...I do NOT repeat do NOT feel that if a BLACK person excels that they are a sell out. I myself excel. I myself am successful and want all black people to see that we MUST excel. So that is totally incorrect. Wow.

Sadly, this is a sad reality Black People refuse to face. They want to pretend that 400 years of slavery hasn't had a strong effect.
There's a difference between using Slavery as an excuse, and recognizing the impact it had on a race of people.

@monopolydevil Why does it matter to you what any individual thinks of you or says about you? Nothing good could possibly come out my challenging anyone. When it has been proven what a person's feelings are, those are their feelings and no one can force them to change. I don't engage nor do I question or communicate in any way with someone who has let me know in no uncertain terms that they hate me. A person who hates you only has one goal and that is to hurt you in any way that they can.

Adapting to our environment to be accepted by whites Sounds like assimilation to me. Everything stems from slavery, because it is the only concrete beginning of the African American community. I don't believe all slaves bought into the Hell of slavery, as we know many tried to change their situation, but I'm sure they did what was necessary to cope.

I know its difficult but African Americans need to stop calling biracial/multiracials created by misegenation African, Africans don't come from misegenation, so misegenation can't create Africans, whites were originally created by misegenation, so biracials and mixed people are white, these white Devils forced the slave mentality on African Americans, so recessive white features/genes are considered superior, but the reality is misegenation creates a person with devolving DNA, so its negative.

This is a name that was imposed on us by Europeans, but it is the word that most African Americans or Nubians born in America and Africa identify themselves with. Some will say that we are Nubian, some say Moors, some say something else. There is much confusion and debate in the name to call ourselves alone. We fight each other about everything. Regardless of what we call ourselves, we need to wake up from this nightmare and stop fighting.

You said at the end of the video: "We are no longer slaves". Well you don't need to have chains all over your body and a white or Arab men wipping you to be a slave. Today in 2010 black people are under economic slavery because the poverty rate is hight in the black race and we still depand on the oppressor (the white man and all the other non-blacks) to have access to everything. And this is a shame!
