  • another great obscure artist thanx so much for posting

  • My God, when I think of all the years I ran with the devil, but it must be my effort to become less than a worm, to become nothing, for it is in surrendering that we become victorious, it is in dying that we are born. How I wish I could baptize you in the Circle of Ruth, there lies all truth. Love Sasha

  • I do think sasha is kinda smart, she knows good music, is not afraid of death, enjoys drugs, and young children, But can she look into the eyes of a dragon, and still wistle a tune in A flat..

  • I am weak, at least your idea of weak, this doe not weaken my power to help you. This is the eternal power of love, you have been lied to so much. I too have been lied to. See beyond the lies. take my hand, I am still here for you!

  • Doesn't Emitt play and sing everything on this album? If I remember correctly, the album cover was shot in what was left of his studio after a fire. The details are kinda hazy after all these years. Great post, thanks...

  • Hi Fruth, I remember the same rumors. FYI

Sasha Fairchild, bringing you the best music and the most beautiful and interesting people on earth - Our site is down temporarily. Sasha

  • Yup, Emitt did it all !!, He's now producing records occassionally here and there.

  • The cover was shot in LA somewhere. Emitt said in an interview that he and the photographer shot in some burned home, not connected to him personally. It would be more romantic if it where his studio. He still uses the organ from his studio that did not burn down.

  • The McCartney comparison is one the lazy critics make. I hate it. How could it not be Beatle-esque, but Emitt Rhodes had something that twisted that Beatles sound around into something very different and new sounding. Just my opinion...

Rhodes and Big Star, to mention two, were nearly completely ignored as the music listening public missed the boat in the early 70's on most of the great pop rock like this and has sadly been largely ignored since. More opinions...

  • Great insight Jsorensen, thaks!! sasha

  • Emitt Rhodes at the top of his game, McCartneyesque is almost an insult as he almost sounds more ingenious here than Poolie.

  • It's not almost an insult. I love Emitt, but come on. Paul is The Master. If this is ingenious -- which it IS -- then what is something like "You Never Give Me Your Money", which it is obviously aping?

  • Paul is the master, "Another Day" but...which song was released first? I dont know.

  • @sashafairchild I think "Another Day" came first -- that's from the Ram era, which is about '71.
