Good tutorial! I love the disguise work with the bubbles. Seems like 25% of what I do is disguising one thing or another! -- Lori Kagan-Moore, Director, The Great American Dollhouse Museum
Sometimes accidents can make a project turn out better and I think that it looks sooo much cuter with the bubbles over the edge, I'm gonna try one with a person relaxing in it.
I used clear caulking or clear Liquid Nails...It has no chemical reaction and it REALLY looks like water before I put the bubbles on. I also think that it looks more realistic as far as water...if the bubbles are not everywhere. It also is fine to have air bubbles because it looks more realistic. As always, thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas.
What I meant was: "It also is fine to have air bubbles (from the Liquid nails) in the tub by themselves because it looks more like realistic water that way." You can also put a person in the tub this way...and cover the unmentionables with some bubbles. :0)
I just want to thank you for all your videos they are all fantastic, extremely creative and amazingly useful. One thing I thought I'd mention while I'm here. Resins are extremely toxic, they should be used outside with a mask, that's why they stink so much ;-)
Thank you! Now I know how to make my beer, not a bathtub! I'll have to show you the result. I hope it's successful! My husband has already claimed the future keychain lol
I'm sort of glad it cracked because the bubbles on the sides and top edges you used to cover them with makes it look so much more realistic!!! Great job!
you could use instead resin maybe the flower bowl filler (the sponge that usually needed for spoke stem's flower to stay up) ..it is less expensive and you can cut the way you want....anyway gooooood idea bubbles to cover cracks...i thought the same before you done!!!!
What if instead of filling it with resin you just filled it with cotton balls? You could just maybe hot glue them in. I made a little bathing bunny rabbit a number of years back with a miniature metal wash tub, cotton balls, a little stuffed bunny, and, for the soap bubbles, various sized faux pearls. (It turned out really cute but was a serious dust collector as it was impossible to clean.) Anyway, just a thought. :)
i loved this one...and hey about the cracks theirs always a way to fix a mistake like that so simple and your idea to fix it was awesome....i loved this one and the little rubber ducky just added so much more love to the thing...i loved it.
That is REALLY cool! I like how you covered the cracks with bubbles. While I was watching the video before that part, I was like "Maybe it would be cool if you dripped bubbles on the side. . . " But you did! And it turned out great! :-D
Sorry .. I forgot to add that "Scenic White" is the one that I use for the bubbles and Regular clear "Scenic Water" is what I use for the "water". Don't use the heat gun for the bubbles. Instead you'll need some type of coffee stir straw or cocktail straw and you put it down in the "Scenic White" and literally blow bubbles (how cool is that? LOL!) .. I should make a tutorial showing how but I need a camera with the video option that actually works :o*(
This is awesome Angela! I have a way of making a Bubble bath too that's completely different using Scenic Water.
A heat gun can create the "flowy/rippled" look of water as well as bubbles! I just like doing it this way cuz it's cheaper and has a fantastic realistic end result :o) You can also make sparkling wines and beer with it as well as jellies and other "clear" foods/beverages. It's really a great product!
I thought resin was suppose to dry clear? The resin in the tub looks white. =/ man I wish I could buy this stuff here. I have looked and looked for similar but can't find it and the shipping price is insane from usa to here if I order it... not worth it. =( your bathtub looks really cool though =D I almost bought some bubbles like that.
