@TheGLOCK40cal it's illegal where you live?.. hell I go rattler hunting up here in western Nebraska all the time.. got a 1 1/2 year old the other day( rough estimate on the age).. was about 2 feet in length. then accidentally ran a 19 incher over.

@CowboyTheHellUp yes in the state of north carolina rattlers are an endangered species & to kill 1 can result in a hefty fine or even jail time but they are kids & little dogs that play around here i guess the damn snake population is a higher priority than the safety of someones kids or family pets

I've been arguing with a ecologist because he said it was wrong for me to kill rattlesnakes.. even though I had a 28 in. prairie rattlesnake in my house.. with kids running around.. but to some people the animals life is worth more than ours.. Zoo Atlanta (in Atlanta, GA naturally) has a very impressive collection of rattlesnakes in their reptile house. Eastern Diamondback, Speckled, Black Tail, Aruban, Timber, Mottled Rock etc.

yes steve, them racers arent venomous, and its good because those things are probably the most aggressive, i cut the grass and ran over a bed of them, got bit about 10 times, then just left the lawnmower alone for a few hours

Where I live someone ran a rattlesnake over about a mile from my house, flattened the head and took of the rattle, then some idiot on a 4-wheeler took him and dropped him about a quarter of a mile from my house.

His picture should be in the dictionary where the definition for "legend" is. This guy was amazingly brave with a touch of insanity. I feel sorry for his family who lost someone so utterly amazing and close. I think the reason he was so famous was because you could tell he cared for his job and for the animals he came in contact with.
