What lens did you end up replacing the Sigma with? Like you I am thinking about purchasing this lens over the Nikon 18-200mm and I hope that the new version of this lens corrected the vignetting issue you had at 18mm.
This is not a review! It's nothing but masturbating the lens... Who cares how heavy it is? Or how big? Can you shot awesome pics with that or not?! THIS matters!
I just bought this lens but still waiting for it to ship. I want to buy a set of filters but I'm concerned about whether i should get a polarizing filter for this lens. Does the barrel turn? If yes it would render the filter useless.
After watching your review, I want to buy the Sigma instead of the Tamron. One question though, will it be a deal breaker if I cannot get the OS version? I mean, the regular should perform decent anyway, wouldn't it?
will this sigma 18-200mm could capture video with canon t2i camera ?
i'm thinking to get t2i camera body only, do you have any lens ideal for me or any advises ?please help thank you so much im very enjoin your preview videos
I have the OS model I use as just a walk around lens with my 7D. I have no problems with low light at 200mm indoors but the 7D is pretty good with pulling in light. I was surprised to see how sharp it can be considering I wasn't expecting much when I purchased it. Certainly not super sharp but very nice nonetheless. Good review. Thanks
@nightmmare123 OS is really made for the longer focal lengths. If you find yourself shooting in lower shutter speeds often you'll definitely want the OS model over this one.
Hello Hash. Your video was pretty helpful. I am also planning to buy an 18-200mm SIGMA lens (still doing my research here). Would you be kind enough to show me some of the sample images taken with that lens?
@Mtbfanro Well there are a few differences between Nikon and Canon's focusing systems. If you are buying a Sigma lens for your D5000 make sure it is an HSM lens or else it won't auto focus. Canon has it easy you don't have to worry about the lens it will AF straight from Sigma. Keep in mind though HSM will have faster focusing speed than the Canon lens. Hope this helps.
I def think it's a better lens overall as well as optically superior. Google for some sample photos from both lenses or search flickr for some test shots. Good Luck.
@ihashup is this lens compatible with my nikon d3100 and will it work good ??

what shutter speed would u use for this lenses

I think this lens should not be bought because it goes to a small aperture of 6.3! NOT GOOD!
That's lots of light being sacrificed over focal length!

good vid. I owned this lens for my canon 300D, was very pleased with the results
low lighting was tough w/ f3.5. I now own a nikon D3000, which lens would you recommend? I'm eyeing the Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM Nikon Lens

Thanks for this review, informative and a nice relaxing music.
In order to have the least problems of compatibility with Sigma lenses - do you recommend using them on a Canon 450D body or a Nikon D5000?
