"Completely different part of the race track compared that which Micheal Schumacher used" like if not doing exactly the same as him, is being worse. also love after the lap, brundle going "how?"
Kimi got really tired of all that politcal BS in F1, not to mention he isn't a wee bit interested in anything else than the driving.
By mid 2008, after Hamilton took him off in the pits in Canada, he had to nurse his damaged car with a loose exhaust to 2nd, when he was easily leading in France, and when Hamlton foolishly wanted 1st at Spa instead of settling for a good 8 points (losing only 2 to Kimi who was way back and winning 2 against Massa, his main rival), the air went out of Kimi.
Oh please. Are you actually blaming Hamilton for not settling for 2nd at spa? He's fighting for a world championship for god's sake! He's allowed to fight for victory if he's caught up to the leader! I absolutely hate the bs some kimi fanboys come up with! Grow up.
And exactly that kind of behavior lost Hamilton the 2007 title and very nearly the 2008 as well. I may not like Alonso, but at least he drives smart and collects good points in every race rather than risking zero points. The fact remains Massa was the main threat to Hamilton and losing 2 points to Kimi who was at least 20 points back meant little. He would have WON 2 points against Massa instead of getting his penalty for an illegal overtaking maneuvre which meant Massa won,he 3rd
It wasn't illegal overtaking though! Do not claim the nonsense that the penalty was deserved. He passed Raikkonen while cutting the chicane, gave the place back and overtook him again, won the race while Kimi proceeded to meet the wall. Massa drove like miss daisy in that race, he didn't deserve any win. It was a completely ridiculous penalty on Lewis.
@Anime998877 why bother coming on a kimi raikkonen vid to talk bad about the guy hes a champion and a world class driver dont forget that he would have won the championship in 05 if it wasnt for bad luck so he would have won the championship twice so were would alonso be then .. also kimi was robbed of 08 championship chaces by cheating hamilton at spa !!! GO KIMI RAIKKONEN ! ... and vettel
"He's fighting for a world championship".Last time I checked he was leading the 2008 title all the way though.Had he been behind Massa (or even Kimi) then he could risk everything for a win (catching up on points)
Kimi fanboys need to grow up huh? Well, in that case 3 time world champion Jackie Stewart needs to grow up too because he said:"Hamilton really needs to stop trying to win the title by thinking it is won every single race".
Tell me this. Isn't it better to net an easy 8 points for second, rather than trying a clearly illegal overtaking maneuvre (why not wait for a better chance next lap?) and risking a win which he could be stripped of, and is turned out actually was and ended up a distant 3'rd,whereas Massa got an inherited win and 10 points?
That's called shooting oneself in the foot. How do you play chess? By thinking ahead. Instead of crusing to an easy 2008 title these antics nearly lost him it
Why is he not allowed to fight for the win? There were still several rounds left in the championship. Even a mere 2 points would have aided his title challenge even more and that's what he did. He crossed the line in 1st place and therefore deserved the 10 points.
And Raikkonen's downfall started in germany anyway when a dreadful qualifying put him in a crap position in the race.
Also, Massa all but matched Raikkonen from 2007-2009 and outperformed him many times as well. This was Alonso's 1st year at ferrari and he utterly annihilated Massa, which was something Raikkonen could never do - indicating he was never a top class driver and that Hamilton and Alonso would run circles around him.
Oh shut up. This is a video about kimi raikkonen and since there's a comment section i think i have the right to state my opinion on kimi raikkonen. And I never said i dislike kimi in any way for god's sake. I just think he's vastly overrated.
Yeah go Kimi! Return to Mclaren where you really belong. How could they sign that slow-ass Button, he is mediocre at best and only had luck with his wins this season (2010) with tyre change. I guess they don't want anyone to challenge that daddys boy Hamilton of the wins.
Raikkonen was always one of my favourite drivers in F1. We need him back, in a competitive team. I think it's time V.Petrov made way for a better driver. He's a rookie sure, but he's had a terrible season at Renault. Plus, we need someone to make Kubica look bad like Heidfeld used to at times.
Thing is and what people forget, Kimi would have won three championships in total if his car didn't break down all the time. Also he won the WDC for Ferrari in 2007, in 2008 he came third to win the constructors for Ferrari and in 2009 he was given a crap car. Even though he was given such a bad car, he kept the Ferrari right up in there with the points, getting a string of podiums. Ferrari stopped developing on the car way before hand so he did an amazing job to be competing with other teams.
considering both Badoer and Fisichella scored zero points in the same car all those races, Kimi did extremely well.
A string of bad in 2008 like Hamilton hitting him in the pits and the exhaust coming loose in France, and other misfortune through no fault of his own denied him the 2008 title.
The engineers who designed and built the F60 chassis admit that it was a piece of shit. They also were amazed that Kimi managed to qualify the car up front and get podiums with it on several occasions. Mathematically, it didn't seem possible to them, but you know how those Finns are when you put a steering wheel in front of them: magic happens.
Oh stop it with those driving style excuses. Why would ferrari build a car around a driver who gets paid 5 times as less as their champion in 2008-2009?
Can't agree more...i just cannot comprehend the decision. If the aim is to save money, all teams had stated that they spent so much more trying to develop the v8 engines. If safety was the issue (being too fast already and all), i could not see any correlation between the two so far. They could have spent more effort on strengthening the car. Just confusing...
Besides, manufactures are still developing engines by exploiting the reliability loop hole. I'm sure of that. Renault were supposed to be on par with everybody else at the begging of this (2009) season after being allowed a concession by the FIA, but somehow, especially when compared to Mercedes, the gap has got bigger again.
Oh, and if we can revert back to the aerodynamics of those cars, but with more emphasis on mechanical grip, cars would look much better and be faster too.
What's more amazing is that Kimi had the same fuel load as Rubens IIRC. Schumi though had 6 laps more fuel which is why he was half a second behind Barrichello.
It is rare Martin is proved wrong, but to be fair, being half a second down in the first sector alone, you can't blame Martin for assuming it's all over for him, in terms of pole.

hahahah yep. iceman's luck in life. but heyy finally 1 WDC now. this year he'll b alright (fingers crossed). cuz the slicks and low downforce favors the drivers with better rear wheel feelings than massa or alonso's front tire emphasis
Martin Brundle was saying it's over already for Kimi! (0:40) That's because Martin wasn't a great driver in his day and he could never make up 4ths in 2 setors like Kimi did to get Pole!
Brundle was pretty fast actually. ran pretty close to senna, bellof and schumacher when he was their team mates and and looked to bepretty close to senna and bellof at their three way test pre 1984
Kimi did some amazing qualifying laps and took some super pole positions when he was with Mclaren, now with Ferrari he has difficulties in qualifying but I am sure he will find the problem and start taking many pole positions, then he will be unstoppable, I hope he will start with the French GP. Kimi rules! 2007 and 2008 WORLD CHAMPION.
Wait 'till Kimi gets that speed on bridgestones and Ferrari. The new "hole" on the front did help him in the Barcelona. Hopefully It'd be around more often now.
Seriously, he overdrove the Mclaren so many times.
Man he could of won 2005 but the faggot alonso with the shit renault won. If kimi didn't have reliability and technical problems on his car then he could of won it but 2007 was good. But could of had 2 and alonso 1.
Statistics from 2005. Raikkonen 375 laps led. Alonso 336 laps led. Raikkonen 10 fastest laps (joint record with Schumacher 2004. Alonso 2 fastest laps.
Raikkonen led more laps even with all the technical retirements. Who would have been a more worthy champion? The guy who raced for wins or the one that had an early season lead and drove for cruise and collect??
Raikkonen could have been champion in 2003 too if his car didn't brake down while he was comfortably leading in Nurburgring. Raikkonen lost the 2003 title with 2 points driving a modified 2002 car. In Indianapolis Raikkonen was leading and Schumacher was nowhere and it would have stayed that way had it not started raining. Kimi should have had 3 titles by now.
after that first sector noone could have believed in a pole lap anymore, but the second split was amazing, the last one was undescribeable because he made over three tenths in just three corners with a this mclaren.
This was all kimi forget the car he completely outdrove it.Ive been watching F1 for many years and I think this guy might be a faster driver than 2 time champs Alonso and Hakkinen.HEARD THAT NIKI LAUDA?!!
Kimi put a dog car on pole! That car is just a piece of crap! I dont remember how many failures the car had that season.

Brundle was pretty fast actually. ran pretty close to senna, bellof and schumacher when he was their team mates and and looked to bepretty close to senna and bellof at their three way test pre 1984

Martin Brundle : How ???????
Wow kimi is best and 2008 WDC Go kimi!!!

I want the old times back...When the cars were so much faster and the drivers really could show what they are able to do!
Since 2006 the cars are more important than the drivers...It´s a shame for Formula 1!
Anyway: KIMI IS THE BEST!!!!!!!

I'm a Kimi fan, but calling drivers names I find that rather disturbing.
Airborne102st 3 years ago
Statistics from 2005. Raikkonen 375 laps led. Alonso 336 laps led. Raikkonen 10 fastest laps (joint record with Schumacher 2004. Alonso 2 fastest laps.
Raikkonen led more laps even with all the technical retirements. Who would have been a more worthy champion? The guy who raced for wins or the one that had an early season lead and drove for cruise and collect??
WASPTexas 3 years ago 3
Raikkonen could have been champion in 2003 too if his car didn't brake down while he was comfortably leading in Nurburgring. Raikkonen lost the 2003 title with 2 points driving a modified 2002 car. In Indianapolis Raikkonen was leading and Schumacher was nowhere and it would have stayed that way had it not started raining. Kimi should have had 3 titles by now.

after that first sector noone could have believed in a pole lap anymore, but the second split was amazing, the last one was undescribeable because he made over three tenths in just three corners with a this mclaren.

Yer Raikkonens the best without question. He was v close to being a world champion twice but was let down by poor luck and reliability
richboy900 4 years ago 5
Well he's a champion now, mate ;)
