  • the fuck is up with his fingers when he plays

  • @ceresWar That's how brass instruments change pitch when they play. He's just doing it quickly and that's why it looks strange.

  • Enjoyed the performance. What do you mean, though, by "Hermaiden" (surely not an English word)?

    Isn't a vallflicka a Swedish shepherdess (or perhaps a goatherd)? I.e. Vallflickans dans = The shepherdess's dance.

  • @Ynysmydwr I agree, but I think whoever typed it meant Herdmaiden.

  • Quality recording,,

  • Oooh, close to the 5 thousandth!!

  • I am proud to say i played euphonium with mathew in our local band many years ago :-)

  • Im in high school and play the baritone too in the best band at my high school(we have 3 bands) but we are playing this song from our last concert. Im not play this part but our assistant band director is amazing baritone player and is playing it. But this song is amazing and you did an awesome job, i can only dream to be able to play this good.(by the way im only a freshmen)

  • Wonderfull playing Matt! You have an "American" kind of sound. That's GOOD from my perspective!

  • @saysaid1 no american in that, just pure old english

  • Awesome stuff Matt!! I also hear on the 'grape vine' you may be doing 'Grandfathers Clock' at some point, can it be true?

  • Amazing!!!

  • I used to play in a band with Matt, he used to be good but he is incredible now!!! well played mate, Tim C.

  • this is soo awesome!! great job!

  • Good stuff.

You do look quite sweaty during that, is it warm in that room...?

    Good soprano tuba playing!

  • I think it's the uniform.

  • No, the heating is broken in the bandroom...

  • Very nice!! You technique and musicianship are outstanding. Thank you so much for sharing.

  • This is truely precedential tenor tuba playing work. This magnificent rendition has sent the bedrock of euphonium repertoire into tumult.

I was especially moved by the middle section, it was very expressive and lots of excellent eyebrow moments have also been captured here.

The finger work is immaculate. As a euph player myself, although by no means the calibre of Sir Hill, I would like to know more about his ingeniuos valve contraption -if only I could play like this guru of euph.

    Bravo

  • Well done Matt!!! Very proud, love Orla xx

  • That is so beautiful. It sounds like ground force. I love ground force. especially Charlie Dimmock, lovely tracks of land.

I would like to join the Royal Air Forces Music Services as a page turner. They do such a splendid job. My parents would be so proud of me and I would be so proud to turn pages for you Senior Aircraftsman Matthew Hille.

You are the best alto tuba player I have ever heard (in the world).

Bravo. Keep up the good work.

    Well done my son.
