Dude. Of all the lessons of this tune on You Tube, this one is the most ergonimically economical (and conducive to singing and playing, like Paul). Fantastic! Thanks!
I´m not sure.. but, since the guitar and the bass is playing " the bassline " together, I think George and Paul is doing it differently; when G. is going- f# and e-upwards, P. is going f# and e on the low E-string-f# and then down to e and back f#; all to make the riff full and rich in sound spectra. Looks like Paul does on video here on youtube. I see many here play bass as it is played on guitar. Just a thought-- it´s the details that does it they use to say. Thanks
So right now I have a crestwood bass. I dont know wich model it is but I want to get a Hoffner bass. I can only buy the Hoffner Icon B right now because of the price.
I want to play more music like Beatles style and I want to know if it will sound better on the Hofner than on my Crestwood.
@russiantoughguy Any of the beatle bass replicas will sound closer to an authentic Hofner. To get the tone like the original I'd suggest one using: Pyramid gold flat wound strings (short scale). Those are the strings McCartney used on his Hofner during the 60's.
A friend of mine in New Orleans OWNS Epstein's/Ringo's old Rolls Royce and the documents that came with the car state that Lennon/Mac were inspired to write this song (and 1 other) IN that car. I have a pic of it I took after sitting in it....it's parked in a boarded up warehouse with a pile of other exotic cars. Too cool!
@xanatos1231 It's played in D and G. Chorus played like BBBBAGGGG... I tabbed it all down on a sheet, I had to make the tab myself since most tab are inaccurate or wrong.
Macca plays lead guitar in 'Taxman' (George a Burns bass) This is one of the first songs featuring Macca playing his Rickenbaker. George plays the lead with his (new)Gibson SG cherry.
I have a couple of pics of that recording session.
I like your attitude when you're playing the bass :)

He used a pick all the time when he used his hofner violin bass. When he used another bass he would use his fingers.
