  • Is the slowness lag 'cause of the heavy calculations or is it supposed to be some sort of timewarp in the game's reality?

  • @TiagoTiagoT The PC I had at the time just couldn't handle it very well.

  • the game looks great but im not really impressed by the water , it looks thick it also flows in weird clusters but its alright for a start

  • 30 avg is all you're getting? I am able to run it @ 1920x1080 with everything maxed, with an avg of 56 FPS. And all I have is a 9800 GT.

  • Bioshock 2 should have looked like this...

  • @SnipHawk the water in bs2 IS better tho

  • amaizing. uncharted 2 is really good but this is better

  • the water in this game is revolutinary

  • Would running this game with ATI graphics cards ruin my performance in any way? I don't want to miss out on PhysX...

  • To be honest, I can't say for sure. I haven't tested it on an ATI card myself and I'm not totally sure how the PhysX effects would react to an ATI card. I'm sure that with a high-end one, though, you could run the game fine. But don't take my word for it just yet!

  • @Chubzdoomer

When u play with physix enabled with a ati card your frame rate is going to fall to 5 fps.

  • The phisics would be calculated by your CPU and you will see a very big performance loss no matter what CPU you have. That is unless you have a dedicated PhysX card aswell as your ATI video card.

An 8xxx series Nvidia card or higher can run any PhisX game with the built in Cuda tech. The phisics is calculated by the video card and runs much faster.

  • This game is optimized like a bitch, but its great.

  • lagg so much, u need to run sli to reduce this lagg problem

  • the game hes playing looks really borring and ga all together. even if the physics are impressive

  • It's a TECH demo. TECHNOLOGY demo. It's to show the technology, not the gameplay. There is a single-player demo available that is intended to show you what the gameplay is like rather than a computer-played demo such as the one in this video.

  • That's just fucking nice! Compared to the graphics of Doom 3, Doom 3 is bullcrap!

  • But Doom 3 is five years old, too! :-P

  • Looks ridiculously nice, haven't been this impressed by graphics since i saw Crysis for the first time.

  • i think the graphics look like better than crysis, i think this could be the new top one... even when there is this annoying "Get clsoe to fire or you will FREEAZE" well, still.... i love dis game

  • It's sad that more games don't have fluid physics like that, I would have so much fun playing around with them.

  • Show me better water effects in a game.

  • can i play this on all maxed out on 2gb ram atiradeon4670 and adm athlon 2,2gzh? Could i get even 30 fps? plz answer gonna buy it for christmas :D

  • Absolutely not! You would get single-digit frame rates if you were to max it out. On that PC, you might be OK with some of the lower settings.

  • 8 gigs of ram and a gtx260 with a quad core intel processor? (not sure which one, I didn't build it)

  • Is it just me who thinks it's really stupid that it doesn't use multi-core rendering?

  • It's really stupid.

  • Like incredibly, right? What were/are they thinking?

  • makes me wanna pee!

  • my setup is;

    AMD Athlon 6000 x2

    HD Radeon 3870 OC

2 Gigs (soon to be 4)

OS: Windows vista Home Premium 64 bit

    what settings do you recommend?

Would the extra 2 gigs of RAM really make a difference?

  • Ive only been playing for an hour or so, and the water and snow doesnt look that good. And I have it on high.

  • I downloaded the demo too, and the graphics look the same to me. It runs MUCH worse than in this video, however. I'm very disappointed in the performance.

  • Definitely, the performance isn't that good, however, I am enjoying the game very much. The atmosphere is great. Hope you are liking it too,

  • You need to make sure you have an Nvidia GPU that supports PhsyX and have it turned on.

  • mannn cant wait for the patch that enables multi core cpu usage. then im gonna snap this up and me my gtx 280 and e8400 3.6ghz are gonna go to town on this bad boy!

  • why does it seem so slow and choppy

  • Because - near the end especially - it was running slow on my PC in some parts.

  • This looks way better than Crysis in my opinion.

  • looks amazing.

how do you think the game would run on this:

    Quad Core 3.2ghz, 2GB Ram, 8800GTX 768mb.

For reference, I've run GTA IV to FEAR 2 on my highest resolution: 1680x1050, with no AA, some AF, and 90% of effects on high :)

  • The game should run fine on that PC, because it's better than mine!

  • awesome..! if you've played the full game is it worth it a buy? reminds me of bioshock which i loved.

  • Unfortunately, I haven't even played the full game yet, so I can't say! As soon as it hit stores here in the U.S., however (April 20), I'm going to buy it.

  • hey in the tech demo i can walk free or the walking is computer controlled

  • It's computer-controlled. You can't move or shoot or do anything.

  • thanx too bad that u cant move

  • Hey man,

I have a AMD 3800+, with 2 gigs of RAM, and a 8600GT. What is the highest settings I can run this at?

BTW, what graphics engine does this game use?

  • With that system, I would say low-medium settings at about 1280x1024 or so. I would recommend downloading the tech demo - what you're seeing in this video - to test your hardware, as you can adjust the settings, etc. to see what the real game will perform like.

Also, the game engine is titled "AtmosFear 2.0."

  • Needs smaller particles, more of them, and more transparency really.

  • The water acts more like mercury than water

  • True, you're right about that. The rain effects look amazing but I'm not quite as impressed with the way the water acts when it's on the ground. It does look good; but as you said, it actually looks and acts more like puddles of mercury rather than water.

  • its this a ww2 type game, becuse the weapons look like it , ppsh, and svd

  • It's set in 1968.

  • Not at all. It's kind of a survival horror FPS. The weapons are pretty few and far between.

  • does it ever get to where the game can be played?

  • Nope. Unfortunately it's just a tech demo. It sucks, but I hope they'll release a truly playable demo in the near future.

  • It is playable. Just not the tech demo. You can find the Russian version online and a translation patch to hold you over until the US version is released.

  • looks like a good game:)

  • Oh shit, is the game out???

  • I don't think it is yet, but it's coming soon.

  • Yes. The Russian version anyways. You can find it an the translation patch online.
