Guns don't kill people,people kill people,period.That gun will lay and rust.till someone picks it up to use it.2 reasons why I think people are buying more guns 1)For protection,When it's against the law,to defend yourself,in your own home.Because the law seem to think it's ok,if someone breaks in your home.And tries to harm you or your family. 2)Food-For hunting,why I say that is because,with so much chemicals and poisoning put into our food,People are trying to get away from this type of foods

The woman you were talking to most likely assumes that people wouldn't harm each other if nobody had pistols. Unfortunately, our species is very good at making weapons of all kinds. Take away guns, you'll have knives (which are just as lethal, just at shorter ranges). Take away knifes (and any other feasibly pointy object, ie. pencils, scissors, silverware, etc), then we'll use a rock. Take away rocks (good luck), and we'll just use our bare hands.

It's human nature. Don't be naive, lady.

@mem11977 Well said. If I ever see her (or others like her) getting attacked, I will make sure not to offend their sensibilities with a blast from a .45, I'll just keep walking. Karma is a bitch.

If the lady wants to be a victim that is her choice. When she is robbed, raped, or nearly killed. Then she may think differently. I personally prefer to carry openly and concealed. I prefer not to be a victim. We are our first responders when the police can't get to you in time. I hope I never have to take a life, but should I have no other choice. Then yes, I will shoot to kill. It is our right to keep and bear arms, whether it be a hand gun, shotgun, rifle, and yes even an AR.
