Can this amp (with one standard haze cab) get very loud? I have a fender bullet 150 38w (first amp) and since this is only a 15w I'm curious. Thanks to anyone who helps me out!
i own a peavey amp and its a pretty good amp. im looking forward to get a new amp...which amp do you think is the best quality between Vox, Orange, or Marshall?
@thrashinthursda jimi plays marshall and slash is also a blues rocker and he plays marshall i think we listen to similar music but from me i would like an orange but im not rich but i also love gain so i would by a marshal but look at your artist gear and choose what they have you like their music why not their gear
@JIRIC8581 slash is more like a shredding scale blues stuff and i do like mello blues stuff...and yea i wish i was rich enough for a orange, but defeinitely want to try one out tho
Hahahha Just came from the combo video where the top comment is:
why do they insist on putting BS digital effects in these amps??? Making you pay more for crap you rarely use... how bout just a high quality reverb??
@WorldsJungleGym Agreed. Can't really blame the guitar, it's the one he uses on all the demos. I guess there are mods to make it brighter, but after hearing this, it's pretty clear I wouldn't want one. Doesn't sound very much like a Marshall.
@adamduran5 yeah you can just check the ohm impendance and read about ohm impdendacy on the web and stuff its a tad complicated but im sure you'll get it
@sohamorrohit - had another look and if you are playing with distortion thro' 2 x cabs, then it might adequate as an overdriven sound appears to much louder to the ear than a clean sound.
@sohamorrohit - I guess it depends upon what the other members of the band are throwing out? If they are quiet, then unmiced = OK. We have a rich & busy sound and getting by is one thing, making a statement when you go for that solo is quite another.
just so everyone knows. when he turned up the volume its really really loud so dont worry about thinking the sound will break up as the volume goes up. ur not really gonna wanna turn that up... oh and one more thing! that amp is good for the price!
I own the half stack version of this amp. Never sounds like it has as much gain as he is getting but then again I dont turn the volume past 5 and if I do...its a very very loud 15 watts. PLENTY loud for a small club.
@NevadaMusicUK Hey, I have a quick question, does it really matter if you use a Haze Cab along with the head? or would any Marshall cab pretty much d the trick?

@FE1261 iwouldnt go with a marshall head... i would go for a mesa Recifer or a peavey 6505/ 6505+ both amps have a wide range of sounds... really massive amounts of gain nice clean if you need it.
Just got a half stack...I think Im gona gut the stock speakers and replace them with some Celestion greenbacks...head is good, cabs not so much I think...
hello can u pls tell me the factory preset of the marshall haze15 for biasing...cuz some some furom they said 25mv and 19mv...but i want the exact preset cuz i want to preserve the marshal haze tone pls.........
I can't believe it doesn't have an effects loop! It would be such a great piece of kit if it did. I'm angry because I was gonna get it until I found this out!
@XxTheDarkOneSPxX the effects loop is a great feature but i hardly see any people using it unless they have a FUCK load of pedals XD like literally a fuck load buddy, if its just like 4~6pedals i dont think it will make much difference. sure it may sound dull but it already has chorus, vibe and delay feature which i believe most people use. tremolo and phaser...i hardly see any songs with it
@jameschoi999 sorry man but i disagree. i don't have a fuck load of pedals but none the less i would love this to have an effects loop for the pedals i do have/want. i'd rather use my proper pedal effects rather than the effects that this amp come with
@XxTheDarkOneSPxX aight, thats cool bro. but i just bought this yesterday. u know whats sad? the matching cab doesnt come until september...so i just got the head and now im waiting for the matching cab. but the efx loop is rather confusing to use and do you perform a gig or anything? i just do school gigs so i dont need such big things. and i use the effects built in the amp so im just using my boss metal zone. might get an over drive pedal soon...
@jameschoi999 I do but I wanted this as a household practice amp. It was so ideal for me; marshall valve tones at lesser wattage, compact, stylish, good quality and able to power a half or full stack. why do u use distortion/overdrive pedals when this has good natural valve tone and gain?
@XxTheDarkOneSPxX well u see...im a metal head. and the reason i got a tube amplifier is because it gives the natural growl of the guitar. and at loud volumes, digital sucks ass... so natural tube with great pedal gives me versatile tonality unlike standard digital. i used to have a roland 30x cube...sucks ass
The only thing that I'm worried about is the lack of enough headroom. Do you think the 15 W has enough for me to gig with say in a club with 120 people. Also will the extra speaker in the full stack give me more headroom?
@sohamorrohit I think for venues that big you will need more power, but also depends what kind of music you play and how loud your crowd and other musicians can get.
The cool think about this amp is you can really drive it without overwhelming the rest of the band or driving your neighborhood nuts, that say is more a practice/studio amp
@sohamorrohit I've been asking that same question. Every website I go to never gives any information about how large of a gig you could play with it. It really pisses me off that industries aren't giving us information about their equipment when the whole reason we're buying their items is to use them.
Exactly. Cause even playing these things out at stores wont give you an idea cause you can rarely crank an amp at stores and even then you wont get a good idea since you'll be so close to the amp itself. People who sell these have the privilege of testing these points out and can help us with that information. It sucks that I cant gig with my Blues Jr even though it has a good tone. If I'd known so back then I would've got something more powerful.
@sohamorrohit exactly. I am now looking into a Marshall MG4 MG412B half stack because I know for a fact that will be loud enough. But I wonder if it will ever be too loud. Which brings into question if I should just buy a vox little night train and mic that if it's not loud enough or and play small gigs with it. I realize that the Marshall MG412B is the cheapest marshall half stack and is definitely not the best there is, but I've heard that's it's actually pretty good. It still has great tone.
We had a Marshall MG 2x12 at our rehearsal pad and tbh to me it sounded good. Sounded like a Marshall. But after I got my first tube amp, I've realized that they really are leagues apart. So I'd suggest you not to buy the MG (I've heard that it has shit distortion), save up a bit more and buy a used Marshall Vintage Modern 50W (switchable to 25W) and an Avatar cab which are way more reasonably priced and as good as Marshall cabs if not better = $1100 approx.
I don't think you can get a good tube half stack within $700. But if you're fine with combos (they are much easier to carry around anyway) I think you have 2 good choices. If you must have the Marshall tone then you can try the Haze 40 combo. But if you don't mind a Fender then you MUST check out the Blues Deluxe (sounds more like a Marshall than a Fender tbh). The Blues Deluxe is one of my favorite amps and I'd definitely recommend it. Both are 40W so you should be fine.
@sohamorrohit - no I would suggest not: I use a 65 Fender Deluxe Reverb in a 4-piece blues rock combo and mic it up to get a place in the FOH mix. Single 12 inch speakers typically run out of 'throw' 15ft in front of the stage.
How big a crowd are you playing for? I get by with an unmiced Blues Jr for small pub gigs(40-50 people). The deluxe is 22W. Shouldn't me much louder than a Blues Jr. even if it might have more headroom.
@sohamorrohit deluxe reverbs for me are the best gigging amp ever, they are light in comparison to other amps, they kick out enough volume, and they break up nice, if U are doing small gig's round pups and clubs, a deluxe reverb is your tool like, hey we all like the sound of a twin, but carting them around is a nightmare, my mate carts a bassman head around and 4*12 cab, but he wants the best tone available, a deluxe reverb is good tone right their, so no need if U ask me to get bigger
Head and single angled cab = £528 down my local. Hmm...even though I'm a 'metal' player, I really like warm bluesy solos so I think I'm gonna save the moo-lah :)
they're like $1,000 which is cheap for marshall!butplease tell me that its at least stronger than the mg15msll mini stack!!!?because it only has 15w and its almast the same size but like 5 times more expensive
@LiutenantIroh this thing is Waaaayyyy louder than the mg and the tone is more organic because its all-tube. I own the full stack version and i can tell you the amp sounds great with both cabs and fully cranked. Upgrading the speakers is a must if you play live and got to have the best. The effects are digital and not very useable, but I bought this for the 15w marshall tube tone and I got it. I play in a band and this thing is loud enough that I only have to mic @ open outdoor venues
I want this but cant afford it as usual. If i bought the head wud it push my 4x12 cab that i have already and wud it sound near as good not being the celestion speakers in the cabs he's using? Or wud i be better off buying the 40w combo?
@Review105 Blackstar HT venue range. You will still need a boost though for Pantera type stuff. The ISF knob helps with the Metallica tone. The thing is it's always hard to find small tube amps that do metal, they are better for classic rock and blues. In terms of this Haze, it sounds like crap IMO. Better off with Orange Tiny Terror or Blackstar HT5 or HT20 and a 1x12 V30 cab. The stock speakers on this sound awful. 1 good 1x12 with V30 speaker is better then 2 of these crappy thigns.
@miguelbombardauno just like any other amp that marshall puts out there is usually 2 outputs... i have the zakk wylde mini stack and i run it through a 4 X 12 marshall cab.
@LeftosDoussis Not really. I tried it out at a guitar shop once, it has good gain for classic rock, or regular rock, and MAYBE hard rock. But no, you can't really play heavy metal on this amp unless you use a distortion pedal.
@squirtaroonie Its loud enough for small clubs and bars, any bigger than that u'd need a PA system, but any venue worth its salt should have a decent PA, and cus this amp is of such a high quality than it should be easy to mic it up and get a very good sound. Also, just bear in mind that size isnt everything, I have a 15 watt orange tiny terror and its better than my friends 100 watt Kustom amp
@squirtaroonie The Guitarist in the Church band has an Egnater Renegade 65/18 watts. He plays it in the 18 waatt at Church and runs it directly into the mixing board and cannot put the volume higher than 3-4. You could mike it easy also. 15 Tube watts is very loud.
I can understand why you might want all the preamps and effect rigs and stuff in the studio. But all I need when playing live is a head, cabinets, and a footswitch.
he has it mic'ed with an external mic, not the camera mic. don't know if his guitar sucks or pickups suck, or maybe he has the settings very dark and muffled, but it isn't the built in mic of a digital camera.
its more for bluesy and rock/ hard rock then for metal, for metal you should pick a different marshall i think. This video doesnt really shows the amps real powers in my opinion
Can someone tell me the differnce between the 15 and 40???...which one should i buy??' i just one the amp for playing home....and maybe one day a gig.
I just bought the half stack Haze 15. I still haven't been able to get it past 5 on the volume. I had a Peavey 6505+112 60 watt tube amp and this one made it look like a little bitch.
Will I need an overdrive or distortion pedal if I want to use this for a nice metal (Metallica, In Flames, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeth etc)? Should I get a transistor amp instead? It's going to be used as a bedroom amp.
@dimgrav I think the only way to tell would be to try it out and see if you like it. A solid state amp would probably be much cheaper too. I'm looking into the Roland Mini Cube ($100) for practice.
@dimgrav distortion pedal for metal. boss metal zone 2 maybe? if its a bedroom amp, go ahead and get a solid state amp, but you will soon be wishing you had a big powerful valve amp.
Sounds decent. Not very much high end cut compared to the nicer Marshalls, but classic chuncky mids.. Still prefer my Orange Tiny Terror though, sorry Marshall fans. Thats just my taste
ive used the 30 watt with a vintage black ESP Eclipse with EMG's. and might i say, i thought it sounded great. it had a nice vintage sound, and a great modern sound.
Anybody know when he uses ˝normal˝ channel, volume 1,5/10 at first do do clean sounds, that he crank it up to 4/10 almost at half and it is a still same volume od Db (maybe a little luder) , how is that possible, I cant go with normal chanell volume up to 3/10 because it gets too loud ! :(
in the actual room hes in it would get a lot louder but when they recorded the audio they had to turn the volume down on the mic to stop the microphone clipping the sound at such high volume and ruining the sound which wouldnt do in a tone video. This capture the tone but not the true volume. Hope this helps
Can this amp (with one standard haze cab) get very loud? I have a fender bullet 150 38w (first amp) and since this is only a 15w I'm curious. Thanks to anyone who helps me out!

Any ideas on how to fix the dampend sound on the overdrive?
GNRSOLO97 1 year ago
@GNRSOLO97 send it to granger for a mod...? he tends to clean up an already nice amp and makes it better*

Head and single angled cab = £528 down my local. Hmm...even though I'm a 'metal' player, I really like warm bluesy solos so I think I'm gonna save the moo-lah :)

can you use this with a tiny terror
Vladthedruid 1 year ago
they're like $1,000 which is cheap for marshall!butplease tell me that its at least stronger than the mg15msll mini stack!!!?because it only has 15w and its almast the same size but like 5 times more expensive
LiutenantIroh 1 year ago
@LiutenantIroh tube amps are always louder... this is much louder than the MG stack
nbfan 1 year ago
@LiutenantIroh this thing is Waaaayyyy louder than the mg and the tone is more organic because its all-tube. I own the full stack version and i can tell you the amp sounds great with both cabs and fully cranked. Upgrading the speakers is a must if you play live and got to have the best. The effects are digital and not very useable, but I bought this for the 15w marshall tube tone and I got it. I play in a band and this thing is loud enough that I only have to mic @ open outdoor venues
12ax7s 1 year ago
I want this but cant afford it as usual. If i bought the head wud it push my 4x12 cab that i have already and wud it sound near as good not being the celestion speakers in the cabs he's using? Or wud i be better off buying the 40w combo?
lcbusa1300 1 year ago
Can anyone tell me if this amp would be good for playing live with a band. like over drums and stuff, thanks.

Thanks for the help (:... Do u know a good amp head & speaker cabnet good for metal (metallica, ozzy, mabe pantera)
Review105 1 year ago
@Review105 Blackstar HT venue range. You will still need a boost though for Pantera type stuff. The ISF knob helps with the Metallica tone. The thing is it's always hard to find small tube amps that do metal, they are better for classic rock and blues. In terms of this Haze, it sounds like crap IMO. Better off with Orange Tiny Terror or Blackstar HT5 or HT20 and a 1x12 V30 cab. The stock speakers on this sound awful. 1 good 1x12 with V30 speaker is better then 2 of these crappy thigns.

OH MY GOD I WANT ONE SOOOO BAD i found one with 2 speakers for 650 dollars :D. its awesome!!!
omfg51 1 year ago
I ment can you use just the head as the amp or do u need to cabanet
Review105 1 year ago
@Review105 No, a head requires a speaker cabinet. It doesn't have its own speakers, and can be dangerous if played through without.
davidleachmusic 1 year ago
@Review105 you cant run a tube amp head without a cab, not even to record line in. whenever operated it needs a load (speakers)

@gibsongod15 yes, they use mostly marshalls, atleast they used to. it makes an awesome metallica amp!!!
DowntownTB13 1 year ago
@LeftosDoussis Not really. I tried it out at a guitar shop once, it has good gain for classic rock, or regular rock, and MAYBE hard rock. But no, you can't really play heavy metal on this amp unless you use a distortion pedal.

Mud, muddy. Dirty muddy muffledness. Sad. I'll blame youtube's audio quality and his humbuckers.

It has 6V6 Tubes in it? I thought Marshall was famous for their EL-34 tone????
I wonder wich is the beter amp, the Head or the Combo at 40 watts?

Should I get this or the 40 watt combo? Thanks.

how would his do on a half stack set up?
guitarfreak4264 1 year ago
do you think it is loud enough to gig this amp????
squirtaroonie 1 year ago
@squirtaroonie Its loud enough for small clubs and bars, any bigger than that u'd need a PA system, but any venue worth its salt should have a decent PA, and cus this amp is of such a high quality than it should be easy to mic it up and get a very good sound. Also, just bear in mind that size isnt everything, I have a 15 watt orange tiny terror and its better than my friends 100 watt Kustom amp
TheFlight815 1 year ago
@squirtaroonie The Guitarist in the Church band has an Egnater Renegade 65/18 watts. He plays it in the 18 waatt at Church and runs it directly into the mixing board and cannot put the volume higher than 3-4. You could mike it easy also. 15 Tube watts is very loud.
hawg427 1 year ago
I can understand why you might want all the preamps and effect rigs and stuff in the studio. But all I need when playing live is a head, cabinets, and a footswitch.
GuitarSlinger300 1 year ago
i want one hahah freakin cool..minus the affects!

I wanna know, do u have to have the marshall haze 15 watt head with the cabinet or can a different head amp work (Crate head amp)
Zepplin321 1 year ago
is there many difference in volume between the haze 40 and the 15 half stack? and is the haze 40 loud enough for playing at a gig?
loaded117 1 year ago
This guy has some problems with his guitar. Haze totally sounds better than this.

Couldn't possibly be the microphone of the camera
FinalStrife7 1 year ago
he has it mic'ed with an external mic, not the camera mic. don't know if his guitar sucks or pickups suck, or maybe he has the settings very dark and muffled, but it isn't the built in mic of a digital camera.

is it good for metal ?
espplectrum 1 year ago
almost any marshall is great for metal
jay3213 1 year ago
its more for bluesy and rock/ hard rock then for metal, for metal you should pick a different marshall i think. This video doesnt really shows the amps real powers in my opinion
loaded117 1 year ago 3
I like the easy to move around compact size of this stack. I just wish it was also 40 watts like the single 12" combo.
MannyBlue65 1 year ago
Can someone tell me the differnce between the 15 and 40???...which one should i buy??' i just one the amp for playing home....and maybe one day a gig.
gutiole 1 year ago
I just bought the half stack Haze 15. I still haven't been able to get it past 5 on the volume. I had a Peavey 6505+112 60 watt tube amp and this one made it look like a little bitch.
jessemiles320 1 year ago
Will I need an overdrive or distortion pedal if I want to use this for a nice metal (Metallica, In Flames, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeth etc)? Should I get a transistor amp instead? It's going to be used as a bedroom amp.
dimgrav 1 year ago
@dimgrav I think the only way to tell would be to try it out and see if you like it. A solid state amp would probably be much cheaper too. I'm looking into the Roland Mini Cube ($100) for practice.
gooney0 1 year ago
@dimgrav just grab a mxr fullbore metal it is insane for metal plus its only 99 bucks and has a built in noise gat
ANGRYREDNECKTRUCKER 1 year ago
@dimgrav distortion pedal for metal. boss metal zone 2 maybe? if its a bedroom amp, go ahead and get a solid state amp, but you will soon be wishing you had a big powerful valve amp.

Sounds decent. Not very much high end cut compared to the nicer Marshalls, but classic chuncky mids.. Still prefer my Orange Tiny Terror though, sorry Marshall fans. Thats just my taste
jacobtheguitarfreak 2 years ago
@jacobtheguitarfreak i like dual terrors a bit better like an extra channel 30 watts and a footswitch slap it on a 4x12 cab and thats all you need
ANGRYREDNECKTRUCKER 1 year ago
ive used the 30 watt with a vintage black ESP Eclipse with EMG's. and might i say, i thought it sounded great. it had a nice vintage sound, and a great modern sound.
UnconciousHippie 2 years ago
Anybody know when he uses ˝normal˝ channel, volume 1,5/10 at first do do clean sounds, that he crank it up to 4/10 almost at half and it is a still same volume od Db (maybe a little luder) , how is that possible, I cant go with normal chanell volume up to 3/10 because it gets too loud ! :(
HendrixJimi85 2 years ago
in the actual room hes in it would get a lot louder but when they recorded the audio they had to turn the volume down on the mic to stop the microphone clipping the sound at such high volume and ruining the sound which wouldnt do in a tone video. This capture the tone but not the true volume. Hope this helps
Hughespipe 1 year ago
Well, Jimmi Page recorded with those 18 watt Marshalls, and he got a great tone out of them.
UncleTito72 2 years ago
im confused about the 15w mini amp and the 40w normal sized amp. Is the only different the number of watts?
madanath 2 years ago
@madanath the forty watt also has more controls.
