I have a stock Dak, I always bottom it out. It also always wants to land front wheel first. How did you manage it? I have the suspension load on high.
@drhf1001 The suspension bottomed out for me too. The Dakar was a good bike and I had fun riding it. However, the suspension was awful. I always keep the setting on "high" and it never seemed to have much of an effect.
Sloppy riding on a very badly adjusted rear shock. Dangerous stuff, you are looking for a fall.
Not an MX bike but with a slight adjustment in riding style you can perform wonders on one of these. For the rear shock you need a harder spring or add more pre-load. Increase the rebound damping by setting the adjuster more to the H position, this will stop the back end bouncing up so aggressively.
Very nice video though, great compositions capturing the action in a tight and flowing manner.
@AltusPienaar The rear suspension was set to 'H', though I'm not sure how or why you would assume it wasn't. Of course the rear end is going to bounce over rough terrain. Like you said, it's not an MX bike.
Please don't take this personally, only trying to help; the rear bottoms heavily when you got the bike airborne, this could be from a softer spring or no compression damping. If the bike has a standard shock there will be no compression adjustment. The H-S adjuster is for rebound damping. So maybe your shock needs a good service.
The back end bounces up violently when you hit some whoops at some point, meaning there is no rebound damping to slow down the pogo effect of the spring.
I got a dakar 2006 as whel but i got a tiny problem, when i have to stop for a traffic light or something and im doing only like 15 mph then my rear brake start to peek.
i try to lubrecate some components but it doesnt seem to work.
is this a regulair dakar 2006 model or i forget a posseble couze?
Plz give me a hand, now i just use my front brake on the last bid of the stop but i know thats not the way it should be.
Hey,just an FYI,the airport is home of the Regional Gliding School, and throughout the spring, summer and fall, you'll find low flying planes with a 200' rope dangling behind them. There have been some REALLY close calls in the past with bikers and ATVers on the trails right beside the runways,so just keep a 'heads up' if you find yourself coming towards the runways, and let your friends know too so no one gets hurt! If you have any Q's about "the rope", stop in when you see gliders in the air! :)
Awsome Vid!! I live in Bridgewater & am looking at buying one of these. Did you get yours in Dieppe? They don't seem to offer the Dakar version anymore. Methinks I need to visit Debert, awsome looking trails :)

@sportzznut93 No. I only wrote "abandoned military base" in an attempt to fool people. Looks like you caught me. Well done...
